  1. Hi everyone, I just gotten a resale and in the midst of selecting an ID. So far, I have seen like 6 IDs and 5 of them have recommended me to just polish the exisiting compressed marble in my living and dining to save cost. The current state of the floor is very dull and there are some cracks on 1 or 2 tiles. 5 of the IDs advised that after polishing, the compressed marble will be very shiny. However, one of the IDs says that the results after polishing may not turn out too good. He says that only the marble composite will shine and the rest will be just as dull. He has done another unit and the results were not ideal despite doing it twice. Hence, I am now deciding to polish or to hack. I kinda like compressed marble as there are no grout lines and feels cooling. At the same time, it can save me quite a sum of money if I choose not to hack. However, I am worried that the results may not good after polishing as mentioned by the last ID. Don't want to spend close to $1k and end up getting unsatisfactory results. I understand that if I hack and lay homo tiles, the maintenance is easier compared to compressed marble. However, the grout lines will turn black over time. In a dilemna now..... Please share your thoughts. Any advice will be greated appreciated. Thanks!!

  3. Thanks for the swift reply. Any idea how much would it cost? I was told it could be a few hundred dollars. Will this floor plan suffice for contractors to do the necessary renovation works?
