so yr drawers use 30kg or 50kg runners?
-
welcome! wow, you got a very long passage to the kitchen!
-
hi Sam can check what is the height of the 2 and 3 drawers? I have also indicated some to the 2 and some 3 drawers, but am wondering if it is actually more pratical to make all 2 (except the cutlery one)
-
true, but like that alot of headache for you to coordinate, and believe me, it's not really fun having to do that if it involves too many parties. For me, i prefer to let one person handle. Another plus point is - touch woor, but if anything happens, no one can point finger at another. But of course, it's yr house and yr show la
-
so did you stay throughout the whole installation process? Two days to do trunking etc right?
-
wow, congrats! Finally you can move in and enjoy all the months of coordination, recee and hard work! Can drop by my unit if you free and give advice on reno lei, since you are now guo lai ren
-
dunno lei - hope it's something good. bc we just needed to get something. Everything else we want they don't have, so no choice. Wow lighting.com sells this at $95 ah? Heart pain liao, but bo bian, better than nothing. Take this as a bonus - but definitely lesson learnt!
-
ya, finally confirmed with him. Actually I find his price not really that competitive, but i like their attitude and good service, can discuss one. Think will be easy for edmund to coordinate with him, so in the end pick him. Hope I made the right decision. the other aircon contractor came to see the place, suggested a few things which are the same as Sam (Aron's installer, whom my hubby called "woman killer"). After that supposed to give quotation but he like bo hue bo hue - up to now still no hear from him. like that how to give him biz??
-
ya lor, that's why i say long story your side everything ok? read about it in yr blog

There are these 2 shops, highly recommended in RT for good service and good price - S & C Blk 338 AMK Ave 1 St 32 #01-1647 Tel: 6552 5208 www.snc-furniture-dynamic.ws Hommage No 25/25A Tai Thong Crescent S(347856) http://www.hommage-trading.com/ They do not really display the goods, and sell via catalogue, hence the lower price. Similar to electrical people like Everjoint and GAB etc. You may want to check them out.

One point to note under yr cannot live without category- 1. Bed - need to decide if doing side tables 2. fridge - i think def should fall under first category bc nowadays kitchen so small, need to cater correct space for yr dream fridge. 3. similarly for tv (no need to buy, but must do homework and more or less decide size) bc some feature walls take that into account

hi can ask a very stupid question? How to choose curtain material? ie other than colour/print and overall looks, is there a made in xx country material that is good, or one to avoid?
-
hi bearlyn we are also eyeing the sunflower for living room! Just a bit concerned whether windy or not? and also about shadows and flickering light. So where have you searched with best price? So far, lighting.com $594 for me. wonder if anyone has review on that fan?
-
Hi insane, Sam and June thanks for your lobang. Will definitely look up these places. but need to find out more about lighting before that. From the last few days of shopping, it seems that there are 2 types of downlights - the ballast and non-ballast type? Apparently, the non-ballast one is better and can run longer hours? One of the shops I went to also highlighted one of their downlights where the light holder is movable, ie can tilt upwards so as to make bulb changing easier. Sounds logical when he explained, but is this true?
-
wow these table lamps are cool! Where is a good place to go to hunt for table lamp?
-
i think sometimes it's for hao kan also - like buying a branded LV bag or something - the showcase for the house too bad i won't appreciate bc I also hardly watch tv. for me, tv is last priority, to him tv is first!
-
ha ha .. in one of the shops, they actually have the 50Hz and 100Hz on the same tv, side by side. And they were showing some soccer match. The salesman kept asking us to focus on the way the player kicks, and see the difference between the clarity of the two. I look left, right, left, right - same la! But hubby say can can - can see differernce. Then another day - we went to a different shop. The display case shows Sumsung LED but priced much lower than what it's selling. After I scrutinised, I noticed a small piece of cardboard at the side, indicating that that is a LCD! So I ask him, "you see, you actually cannot see the difference la", just bc people say so, you believe lor! I should have kept quiet and said it's a good buy!

ok, maybe I can highlight why we choose to do downlight in room? You see, my children's tables will be against the wall. so if I use ceiling light, then light source will be behind them when they work, right? To me, this is no good for their eyes. Also i worry if one ceiling light is enough to power the whole room?? since i want light to be coming from infront, the only option left is - 1) table light, or 2) downlight. Personally, as a child, I remember table lights being very near my eyes for comfort, so i choose option 2 lor. and so, since i need downlights, I will need at least 2 per side (their table is side by side). But in case in future their table is going to be shifted to other walls, i also need to cater lights there, just in case. so you see, that's how we end up with 8 downlights in 2 rooms and that's why I am now hunting down shops with cheap downlights .. anyone with lobang, please share share ok

hello interestingly, these (elmark 48" and kdk 44") are also what I am looking at for the 3 rooms - and from reading through the thread, seems that KDK is a much better buy! since I have not used any ceiling fan before, i really can't comment on which is better, but one thing for sure - KDK's remote comes with timer and sleep mode, which I think is very useful for bedrooms. for the hall, we thought for using the elfa sunflower fan, since this is more aesthetically pleasing. Anyone used one, any comments? And any idea where to look for a cheaper one - I was quoted $594 at lighting.com thanks!
-
ha ha ... out of sight, out of mind lor. So we are opposite - i am the "garang guni", my hubby the "thrower". He jokingly said actually all we need is the few boxes we have in rental house now, because if the rest of the things can keep in storage for a few months, means those are not necessity! no worries, thanks!
-
i was told minimum is 450mm, no max, but I think will look weird if too deep right? Also need to consider if you are having ceiling fan? cove light etc? I think given out flat size (ie if yours is BTO), I believe most of us will just do the minimum.
-
ok thanks for explaning. Will bear that in mind when i choose paint colour
-
went down to lighting.com today, and they confirm the lowest price guarantee policy. so looks safe to get fan from them? thinking of the elfa sunflower fan for the hall, but tagged at a whopping $594 in lighting.com. Anyone come across than fan at a lower price? Thought try my luck with everjoint, but no luck, they don't carry. btw their downlights around $25 to $27, but will look around for even lower ones since still got time. Anyone been to this place called Tradehub in boon lay? Anything good there?
