  2. wow, sounds really bad. But if ID still open to all and willing to rectify properly, maybe still can give second chance? btw I cannot imagine what raw holes u r referring to? you told yr Id you are on RT?

  5. no leh, no schedule. mine is contractor anyway - Edmund ADecor. So I kinda know what is happening when I go down to my place, which I do everyday. As long as I see workers, I am ok. It's times when I see no one and days of nothing being done that bugs me. But like I said, that's his style, as long as things are done nicely, I accept lor, after all, different people work in different ways
  6. no lah, granite not in place yet. think that one only after carpentry has been installed. my sink support is cement
  7. sorry rhino i left the quotation in the car, I check tomorrow then pm u about the screed ok?
  8. just one note of caution, but that's jmo, bc me no expert. I think, esp if hall and room are different materials, screed may require different height so that at the end of the day, the whole floor is levelled. So if getting third party (hdb) to do screed, better have yr ID give instructions so no miscomm about requirements for eg, in my case, hall and passage is marble, rooms are parquet. We would have preferred marble to be laid last so as to minimise chances of it being damaged while other work is going on. But according to contractor, it is better to do marble first (since it's the hardest to do), then parquet go accodring to floor height after marble is in place kwim? i pm u the price later
  9. what? u mean this hr you still in office? so hardworking!
  10. most welcome to post in my blog - want to call SOS liao - bc like I post for myself to read one
  11. ya, know what you mean .. me very scared of frozen moments too .. and don't feel comfortable to keep asking contractor bc don't want to appear to be chasing all the time, yet can't sleep peacefully without knowing what's to happen next ...
  12. hey what stage are u at now, bearlyn?
  13. ya, Joseng is so right, our contractor is either no work, but when got work, it's done with vengeance! anyway ... me not complaining lah!
  14. really? you mean you get hdb to smooth cement screed FOC, then yr ID lay tiles? like that I wasted liao, bc my tiling already done by contractor and is chargeable lei

  16. Tue, 17 Aug 2010 happy day! went into the house this morning to see marble flooring and grouting all done! more suprises - was greeted by 4 workers! More wet works today! kitchen sink 1 ... 2 ... 3... up kitchen sink is finally mounted!

  18. hi hcbing thanks for updating - that's quite a lot to digest - esp when you are in the midst of so many things happening all at once! Your house looks so tastefully done - minimalist, clean and inviting! oops .. what happen to the mirrors? One question - did you have some kind of "guard" on that mirror wall? My place we also thinking of having mirror next to dining table, but is concerned about chair legs knocking on them ... btw all the best in yr ceremonial wedding! Have fun!
  19. if space permits, think the big 2 tier might be more functional? Unless both of you are on the tall side? jmo

hi neo we had wanted to have the sink on the right too, but was cautioned (by the salesgirl hereself!) that if it will be difficult to clear if blockage etc. Also cleaning the "inside" may pose some challenge
  21. Mon, 16 Aug 2010 Went furniture shopping today. Needed to look for the following: sofa coffee/side table dining chair girls' wardrobe girls' work table computer table bookshelves - we have an existing set of table and chairs, but thought of replacing the chairs with something of smaller frame/legs bc of small dining area. Went to Gnee Hong this morning, found some interesting designs and acceptable prices, but not not exactly what we wanted as the legs were too wide. Does anyone else have any recommendation as to where we can find such chairs? Those "legless" types would be most ideal since my dining area will be glass on one side and mirror on the other - coffee table - due to limited space, we can only have a very small table, so ideally something extendable? Saw some nice ones at Lush website, but the $$ is just off our bursting budget. Anywhere else? - the girls will have a shared study room, and a shared bedroom until they are ready to "split". So we did not do any build in carpentry works in their rooms. Plan to get those ready-made table/bookshelves, esp those kind with shelving above the table arrangement. Again, any recommended places? does hommage or S&C have such furniture? thanks!
  22. ya, mine had to smooth screed before laying tile and parquet too - new flat also - think this is bopian one, unless floor already done by HDB lor
