  1. bearlyn a bit off topic here, but just went to check - bus service 163 and 163M only. But as mentioned earlier, frequency is like .. wait long long
  2. hmm .. the more i read the recent active blogs, the more i feel i have overpaid my contractor!
  3. from our understanding, you need to have at least 7feet clearance to really enjoy the rain. Of course, the higher you can place the shower head, the more shiok the effect. For me at FV, I have slightly less than 7 feet from floor to the false ceiling, hence was advised against using one. Sort of like not worth spending so much to get reduced enjoyment of the supposed rainshower. Further more, for our toilets, shower head etc all done up, so I will have to dismantle a good set - a bit xin tong. That said, though, I have seen someone, but forgotten who (in RT) make a hole in the "ceiling board" so as to extend the rain shower head above, hence increasing the height.
  4. woo, very nice drawings. This is inclusive of all materials? flooring, hacking? If so, I think that's a very attractive quote too! like yr open concept kitchen. We almost wanted to do that, but in the end decided against it bc of the oil etc. But that's bc we cook everyday ..
  5. Decals! dining area glass partition kitchen entrance my daughter's attempt
  6. Hall entrance area the 2 lounge chairs which took ages to arrive, and such a long long story behind them .. coffee table is still outstanding - wanted something really small and glass - for now, had to use the piano chair for that purpose will convert the other seat into orange and green also - already gotten fabric from arab street but dunno when got time to sit down to sew yet ..
  7. Kitchen Part 3 Lots of top hung cabinets? In reality .. all beams!!! dunno what to put in the hole on the right? A bottle of wine, maybe?? and this ... can't think of any other way to use this narrow strip, so asked the carpenter to add the bar
  8. RT only allows 3 pix per post?? Anyway, here's Kitchen Part 2 the "blumed" drawers and cabinets dish rack to replace the one mounted in cabinet - so much more convenient!
  9. and re-reading my blog, realised that I have not posted pix of the kitchen and hall .. so here they are ... ! kitchen Part 1 view from hall - dining area and kitchen kitchen - sink area kitchen tall unit stove area
  10. We are settling in nicely. Our girls are so excited to show the house to their friends .. and my youngest beat us all in inviting her friends over! think maybe not a good idea to post their "having fun" photos, so got to post this

  17. wah, I very long never watch series already. But I do remember watching alot of jin yong and gu long hongkong series when I was schooling, sometimes even sneaking out from the room and watching from a corner bc forbidden by parents esp if tests/exam period. ha! now those newer high tech ones I really don't enjoy, somehow ... maybe age already?? anyway will try to find these in the library. thanks!
  18. these books are wordy wordy novels or comics? yr description of gu long so funny - like those super lo so taiwan series, like the now-showing "ai" - omg
  19. I think too late already? My understanding is all rectification must be reported before reno commence? Is that true?
  20. ha ha .. we feel that a swee swee feature wall plays down on the tv too. So we rather not have a tv feature wall and spend on a swee swee tv set. hiding unsightly wires is good, but I know of many friends who stop hiding them after a while, bc too cumbersome to feel for wires behind the wall. but of course, that's jmo.
  21. like that die liao. actually this one is not contractor prob, it's done by hdb. Not sure if it's stainless steel or aluminium or what? HDB workmanship really sucks. Our house only toilet flooring done by them - no choice, cannot hack, and it's the only floor area that we have complains. Luckily we opted out for flooring, otherwise I can imagine more headache
  22. hey neubie since you are such a diy person, can check with you something? If the metal strips separating different floor tiles are rusty, how to get rid and prevent further rust from forming? Unfortunately, this is in the toilet floor, so that area does get wet each time we wash.
  23. can ask where are these jin yong and gu long books found in the library? i looked round and round, don't seem to be able to find??
