  1. oops, already ordered liao. And not just that, the salesman is so GOOD that he managed to convince us into buyng a washer too, though we had kept our old one in storage. So now I have to wreck my brain to think what to do with that one.. I tend to agree to bearlyn. Even on a hot sunny day, the kitchen/yard remains dark - very gloomy. That's why I must use fake sun to brighten up! So can imagine on rainy days?!?! Think mine is the same side as Flamedav's, with the open space in front of the yard - which to me is potential for spiderman to climb in bc the beam is really close to the yard window. My neighbour's has the brick wall, but surprisingly, when I visited, it appeared to be brighter than mine. And her kitchen is black and white concept, no bright bright colour. The real issue is the facing of the flat. When I picked this unit, I ensured that it has no west sun, now regret liao. bc got no sun at all, from any direction.
  2. dunno, we were just talking about the weather, and she commented about the washing. But I tend to agree with her, feel that not much sun coming into the kitchen/yard in my unit also thanks for the curtain contact. Do you mind sharing how much you spent on yr curtains? Any pix to share?
  3. hmm ... not a bad idea ... but must think of something more permanent lei
  4. really? Then think I must be blind. Always see furniture ads ... this sat must open my eyes big big
  5. sounds so familiar - my hubby says that too - kitchen is my office, so I decide anyway the sink ah, just kidding lah. the service yard one is laundry sink. Thanks to Joseng for the idea!
  6. yup, toilet bowl and sink intact. I believe can replace sink, bc many people added vanity cabinet and stuff. But toilet bowl I think not. Not allowed to touch the toilet floor for 3 yrs (am I right wiht this figure? ) As for change position of sink, I don't think so lah, bc pipe is concealed and cannot change right? But this is only my guess, let the experts speak better btw welcome to RT. You in fernvale too?

  12. yesterday, we went to mega to add a dryer to the purchase list. After talking to our neighbour, who took 3 days to dry each washing , we have decided that a dryer is no longer "just in case", but a must! I will go mad if I have to leave my clothes hanging for 3 days! As per before, was highly recommended Brandt. Was quite tired of doing price checks, so we just ask salesman to recommend. Our requirements are - manual / vented / at least 7kg. so in the end, siince only Brandt fits that, just take lah. speaking about sun, think i can start receeing for curtain liao. Anyone got recommendations? There is a Mr Chew and someone else ... sian, must go dig the forum again. Find that I am losing a bit of steam with this reno - going to punchat soon . can't wait for HO
  13. don't show yet - must mai guan zi - follow sam's style
  14. Thur, 26 Aug 2010 very long never update, almost cannot find my blog liao again, tonnes happened today meeting with carpenter. Finally, after thinking and thrashing with my husband, visiting many showrooms, browsing through interior magazines, we have come to a consensus on the cabinet colours. Very hard to agree on, because we wanted the orange glass . So must pray hard that the final one will be an acceptable one. The electrician also came to install all the lights and fans. When we left at 5plus, they were still hard at work, measuring the distance between downlights! tomorrow morning will pop in to see. Though the marble has not been polished, I already can see the reflection of the dining light on the floor! so excited - lighting can really bring up the looks of the place! and finally, parquet has been laid - really fast. They came in the morning around 10plus, by the time we return at 2plus, all 3 rooms parquet are done! Very impressive!
  15. never mind lah - that means u are asset rich lor - still rich right?
  16. and me too, Joseng! Sam, where are you shipping the decal from? Can recommend good sources for decal? I foresee I will need quite a bit of them
  17. wah, you haven't start already overspent liao?? jia lat ...
  18. what happen to yr sink? that it's done undermount? you plan to have it changed? what colour yr backsplash?
  19. hi hi so long never log in, ... did not realise yr carpentry is done! Yr whole house doing red/white/black concept. Very modern and nice! Like yr idea of the extension worktop! and when's yr HO? Looks like it's drawing near
  20. u install d light yourself?
  21. 15may, been thinking about yr storeroom rack. You mentioned there are 4 tiers right? Does that mean each tier is around 60cm height? Do you know if can add more tiers? Is the base of each tier all metal, or hollow with a plank of wood on top? Thinking if possible to use that as book shelf, since it's really sturdy and much cheaper than the solid wood ones. The normal ply type is not costly, but scared cannot take the weight, like those ikea book shelves - after a while, the planks all warp.
  22. so it's spraying, not painting with those glossy kind of paint, like the kind we use for door frame?
  23. ha ha, really qiao. We got from same place too! Should have asked u how much u paid then use that to bargain! When collecting the lights, we wanted to check, but boss quickly taped up the box and said "don't worry, if got problem, just come back". So once in car, we unpacked, and true enough, there were scratches! We went back to the shop, but boss said this is last piece. We turned to look at the display, also gone! So did he give us the display set??? We showed our unhappiness, then he "pretended" to ask another salesman if there is another set, the salesman pretended to go check, and came back with a story that "oh, did not realise got one more set" We checked through the 3 pieces of exterior casing, but like u said, almsot every piece got scratch marks! Besides the boss was getting a bit unhappy, and said it's all like that - some impurities during the coating process blah blah, so we just took the box and close the saga. If u had read, there was some unhappiness regarding GST with this shop. Hope the bulbs will be ok during installation. Dread to go back to that shop again ..
  24. jia lat ... we just collected the light yesterday! Looks like we will face the same destiny!
