Tue, 14 Sept 2010 Finally, managed to upload pix again ... first, doors are in place, short of vanish see anything wrong here? maybe see again in this pix? Kinds of weird when the door is closed - seeing a strip of tiles in bet closed door and parquet floor. Is this the way it should be? Dunno if we should ask contractor to do anything about it? But if HO going to be pushed back bc of this, likely will just qing chai and forget it

hi thanks for yr peng chang my blog! now at final stage liao - how fast, isn't it? - remember it was so recent I asked u about the kdk fan? Now doing carpentry, followed by parquet vanish, then kitchen worktop, and glass back ... some touch up and we are done! Looks like it's jsut another week and I can say bye bye to our squeezy rental place! Woo ... hooo do u have apix of the dining set at ikea? particularly how is the alignment of table legs? 4 sides or at the centre? is this a glass top?

so far, we have bought book shelves from ikea, but cannot tahan weight. So for shelves, we tell ourselves definitely no ikea this time round. for study table, in our old place, we buy from those housing estate furniture shops. Last us for a good 10 years plus - no prob. Of course it gets dirty etc, esp with children using them, but other than that, really solid. So this time round, we will be doing the same. many years ago, also bought some pans from ikea, but did not last more than a few rounds of cooking - perhaps I am rough when handling my stuff? so very strangely, whilst we have attempted to chalk up the $200 purchase so as to sign up for member, we never really did get ourselves to do it ... So ikea to us is = their cafe - I love their salmon, my hubby for their wings, and my kids for their meatball. And I love the coffee too, just 50cents, can refill some more ..

out of curiosity, how much does an ikea study table cost? 4feet with drawer etc?

thinking really hard. At first before all reno start, I already wanted a fan in kitchen, but hubby strongly oppose. Now with glass up, he is agreeable with the idea liao - scared too stuffy I faint inside! That kind of cooler you sayng take a lot of space or not? I wanted to put a fan in service yard to blow into kitchen, but he thinks that will blow hot air into hall, ie fan should blow heat outwards into yard instead of the other direction.

ya .. she very high I very low

hmm .. guess that's teh difference bet knowing what you want and going there to recee and do price research. We also went to the bendemeer branch before, and were quite disgusted with the service as well as their gimmicks. But then, we were not ready to buy, so just asking for info etc, so ... anyway, congrats for completing most of yr purchases. we are almost done too, except for the high table and if possible, a fan for the kitchen - still thinking hard about this one.

hi gals mama long time no hear from you! How's everything on yr side? Was infact at ikea this evening, and saw a table we like, but was too long - 160cm. We can only put about 120cm comfortably

u buy stuff frm audio house? how u find their service?

ooo ... yum yum .. choc cookies, my favourite! want to check this. Do you close the kitchen door when working inside? Does it feel like a sauna? Bc now that my glass partition and door is in place, I feel HOT when in the kitchen. Even when the outside is breeze, the wind immediately gets cut off the minute you step in Now I feel like installing a fan inside, otherwse I might melt! What's yr experience? June, if you are reading this - what's your experience too?
-

insane, forgot to add that during our recent recee, we did check out dining table in JB, and find that price at hommage is still more attractive, even after currency conversion etc. Plus, you need to pay for levy, GST and some shops delivery charges too if yr amount is too little.
-
if u want dining table, can also try hommage. They have quite a good collection there too. Got a few pieces displayed, but mostly via catalogue.
