Agree. The other concern is whether it is feasible (walking space) if the dinner table is close to the stove.

Honestly, I have never heard of this. Most of the time, fsms will concentrate on the what gua/palace/sector your stove is located depending on what FS technique the fsm is adopting. Some fsms also would not want to have kitchen or stove located at NW sector of the house or kitchen. However, I know most fsms will not recommend stove to be too near or directly oppo washing basin (taps) and also not directly oppo toilet door.

Fs Vs Palm Reading/bazi/fortune Telling/tao Practice
Coolwater replied to bepgof's topic in Geomancy/Fengshui
Hi, Just to be simple... Fengshui is talking about environment that we are living in (eg your house, office etc). It is focusing on Landform and Timeliness. Of course there are other techniques that don't depend on Landform and Timeliness. In short, Fengshui is focusing on the qi in the environment whether in favour or otherwise for the dwellers. Bazi and palm reading can used to predict one's future (what's going to happen or what had happened). Of course Fengshui can be used to predict as well (eg. 玄空飞星 or flying stars fengshui) by looking at the house chart. Some very good FSM can know who is sick in the house once they see the house chart. This is a form of prediction. Most of the time, one can change his/her house and office Fengshui but not Bazi because Bazi is cast and stone when one is born. I have come across some saying that one's Bazi can be changed by performing some rituals but not sure whether it is true/work. A point to note is that not all fengshui situations can be solved. Otherwise, there is no bad fengshui in this world. To me, at best, FSM can assist to remedy area with bad qi so that the negative impact/effect will be reduced. Sorry... No comment on Tao practice. -
Yes. I agree that one should not try to do self audit if one only learn the skill from one or 2 books from the market. However, it is no harm (will be good) if one do possess some basic knowledge of FS before engaging FSM. At the minimum, you will know the rational behind the FSM recommendations (eg why one need to tilt a door/bed & stove positioning/placement of water feature etc). Otherwise, what the FSM say, you will have to take it because you have already pay for it. I believe most FSM allow their clients to ask questions. It should be ok if you demonstrate some basic knowledge. Of cos, do not try to belittle them or say that they are wrong because you read this and you read that.

You don't really need the stove be burning with big fire. All you need to do is to ensure that the charcoals are red hot (some smoke without fire also can). Of course this can only be done if you own a transport. You cant do it if you are taking public transport. In order for the stove not to generate too much smoke, don't put so many pieces of charcoal in the stove. I remember I did it (bringing the stove) alone. However, if this not possible, you can forgo it though I still recommend one to follow if possible.

Tong Shu provide info of what the day is like (Eg. what is the 12 day officers, Heavenly Stem and Earthly Branch of the day, what are the general good hours, what this day is suitable for etc). However, when Tong Shu indicate that a particular day and hour is excellent that does not mean everyone can use it for important events (eg. moving onto a house, signing of contract, opening ceremony etc). You need ensure the date suits your bazi.

A charcoal stove is a must for move in procedure. However, many are not following this procedure in current age as it can be quite difficult as you need to move the burning stove from your old house to the new one. Charcoal stove are still available in many old provision shops. You can find them shops in Kreta Ayer market (Chinatown) or Rochor Centre.
