  1. froggy, sorry to temporarily hijack this thread for a different purpose froggy, bearlyn2406, fifteenmay, what's your experience on your hob and hood? Do you recommend what you have? looks like all 3 of you have different brands... kinda pulling my hair out trying to decide what I want. any help would be great
  2. anyone use Bellus solid surface before? it's cheaper because it's not branded like LG... couldn't get any useful hits on the forum so thought i post a question. was able to locate their website though (http://www.bellus.com.sg/). officially signed contract with id so busy picking out materials.
  3. hi pomme, thanks for your reno info. just signed the contract with an id so i'm busy (but excited) looking for appliances. may i impose a couple questions regarding your ariston hob and mayer hood: how are they working out for you? do you recommend them? do you remember how much you got them for and from which store? thanks ahead.
  4. i'm also looking at the same panasonic system from gain-city. does anyone know if the e-ion filter needs to be regularly replaced? or where to buy it?
  5. not sure about wall pipes, but according to my research it's normal to bury as much of floor piping in the ground. this way the floor doesn't need to be elevated as much. how does the finished work look?
  6. contacted Swift United Logistics and was quoted $1500 for 5 bdrm. Said it'll take 2 trucks. Only used (not new) boxes will be supplied... storage for one month run about $450. Does moving and storage costs sound reasonable?
  7. have a few basic questions to pick on the brains of the gurus on this forum.... 1. what is ABS trimming? 2. recommendations for cabinet laminate finish? 3. one ID is recommending to install the hob to be 'floating' (instead of fixed). he says it'll be easier when replacing the hob. is this 'floating' design common? 4. how is "bellus" solid surface? or should i upgrade to LG?
  8. anyone have recent experience with Peter from Ideal House? Care to share?

  12. hi zhiz, curious... who're the 2 'warring' firms? will try to steer clear of them since i'm still in the process of finding an ID.
  13. uhome was one of our shortlisted IDs. they're nice enough to visit the flat which not many IDs are willing to do. once i start asking questions after i received the quote, they disappeared. quite unprofessional in my opinion... seems they're only after folks who're naive and take what they're told for granted. back to square one.
  14. khan, suspender, you shoul have a pm with id info khan, it's 5-room hdb flat. i should clarify that the work scope is primarily to reno the whole kitchen, and other misc (paint the whole flat, some bathroom work, add window grilles, replace front door grille). ignore the sub-total 5120 (id had a subtotal for every page and i forgot to delete the line before posting) -- sorry for the confusion.
  15. hi htng, i've pm you the id company name. not sure about sharing the specific id on this forum till i've decided whom to go with. plan to start reno 1-june so watch out for my t-blog btw, do you know the difference between the 't-blog' and the 'blog' sections?
