Ah... its Colin, i just saw your blog. Just out of curiosity, how much damage for all the ++ which was not in your contract? Can PM me if its not convenient. I'm quite worried about the ++ and the amount needed to set aside for lightings/tap/sink/fittings/toiletbowl etc etc.

I'm assuming you want it to look varnished in a lighter shade of brown... It's quite a challenging task. Need to use the varnish/paint(remover), Clean off the remover with mineral spirits, bleach, dry, sandpaper, then restain or varnish. Or simply ask your contractor. A particular ID advised me not to change my door if it is fireproof cause quite ex... Also think lighter brown will be nice, current one like ore lu lu...

i had the same thoughts when i saw the photos! Just that when i saw the 1st photo, the lights seems more yellowish then the 2nd one. Feel that white lighting will go along better with your theme.

i was at expo last sunday, some ID tried to sell us $1k for 3 design/3d drawings. I didn't pick it up too, don't even know if i like after they draw why give them money. They didn't even offer to minus off the $1k if we decide to sign up with them. I also envy your girls, i would have made the room a study... BTW any photos to share?

Have you considered removing the grilles? Unless there's children or you expecting children to visit, personally i feel no grilles is also quite nice Yeah can't help feeling excited over the new stuff photos photos

hi ngunadi, i'm planning to look for contractor if i have time to design the flat myself. Just wanna check did you just supply the contractor with the floor plan design? Or your wife came up with 3D drawings? I have no problem with the floor plan software but 3D drawings are killing me BTW, i assume u're not changing the windows and window grilles... have you done anything to "renew" them? Besides changing the locks/handles i mean... Cause that was what one of the IDs reccomended when i told them i want to change all the windows and grilles in order to save cost. But when i went back to look at the window again... really cmi... want to change... then again, its an area to save cost
