Nope. Almost as expensive as metallic laminates. Formica solid core for my white shoe cabinet and 2mm black and white gloss for my storage tv console, both with blum soft closing and colored pvc. Just the cost for both of them can make me cry liao.

So good! My contractor abit the slow, but it is my CFO's choice to get him. Anyway, I am really excited to see what is my shoe cabinet and tv console like, since I had designed them myself. But they are really expensive for 2 items, as my choice of laminate super expensive.

House currently undergoing painting facelift. Each room has different color theme with about 3 colors in each room (ikea room 2 (bright yellow and blue), fantasy room 3 (light grey, light dusty pink, dark violet), cosy mbr (4 different warm neutral colors)) and my living room 3 different types of white too... So the poor painter has to use a small brush to paint in many areas. My contractor was really excited to paint my house different colors somehow. The electrical wiring is done, including the hacking at the ceiling to centralise the dining room light. My uncle CFO din want to hack the tv wiring as he said it will spoil fast fast, so we had snaked the wiring around our balcony door to hide as much of the cabling as possible. False ceiling is up. Now doing the plastering and hopefully lights by the end of the week. The granite pple are coming in this saturday to fix them in, then we will do paint touch ups and rest of the minor works. I have no idea when the carpentry is coming in though. All furnitures and appliances are coming in next saturday and we are also moving and unpacking some things over the same time. No photos to show though, as we go in at nite and view the work via diy light souce from 1 down light. So far my reno incl granite baywindows and all lightings is at 18k. . Furnitures and applicances is about 7k for now. It had exceeded my expectations . Now I hope my curtains will not give me a heart attack.

I am actually pretty happy with A Lighting service, they called advance and they do cater to your time rather the other way round. My wall sanding and painting started on wednesday, still painting the first coating. I will only paint finish on sat. Cos each room is different color. I see my electrical points up liao.. pretty happy, but lights will not be up till false ceiling which is like next week.

Nvm, you can always buy those basins, dish rack, chopping board that can sit on top of ur sink so to extend the usable space. Have a rod mounted on wall for hanging stuff. Then u do not need so much space for counter top.

My contractor told me that false ceilings need sealant, base coat and at least 2 coats of paints. I asked as he charged me pretty high for painting.

My dried stuff like ikan bilis, dried chilli, dried scallops, dried oysters etc are kept in containers in the fridge. Actually so is my tea, and herbs. Singapore is so damp and hot, most of my herbs cannot last long except pepper. It helps to keep things longer. My hubby let me decide all the rooms, we have purple room 2, yellow room 3, warm neutral mbr and black and white living/dining. All different concept but he has the last say if he likes or dun like. I usually research and give him a few choices i like in of an item and he will okie or nay the item. He will proceed to follow up on the purchase and delivery.

I seen big fridges of families who doesn't cook and packed with junks too. It is good to have a bigger fridge, but budget and lifestyle also play a part in the size of the fridge. Having a slimer but taller fridge, I have to arrange my food stuff wisely. Most of our things are in containers or allocated slots. We will always try to finish the food before replenishing new stock. We doi marketing once aweek for my inlaws and ourselves so we have to make sure we have enough room for 6 person worth of raw food. Just make sure that you have extra space catered for your fridge expansion, just incase you want a bigger one next time.

I like 2 hole type. Been using them for years. New place also 2 hole type.. ^^" I haven't buy my WM and fridge ah. Need to start packing my stuff.. SIONG!
