It is suppose to be how hdb having shared electrical points and if 1 have problem may affect a few other units. So if the hdb would want to determine the fault they will trace the wiring. If u conceal it makes their life harder. They may make u pull the wiring out and u have to patch back yourself earlier. If in casing, it is ezier to get to and repair. For condo the way they do the electrical points they are separated for each units. Therefore if there is any issue will only affect 1 unit. Something like tat... So it ends up this no concealing rule loh.

Actually the existing chairs are pretty good match for the resort feel, maybe at each end u can put a teak wood bench vanished dark wood color instead. Then have the tables and chairs revanished in to semi gloss dark wood color. You can always swap the chairs or bench according to the seats required. The Bench can be reused as side tables too. Personally I feel that your dining lights will not go with wicker dining sets. It will either go with ultra modern (glass and metal) or more traditional settings (deep wood colors).

As i said in the other thread. I dun like the 2 selections of chairs. I would still stick to wood. This is my idea, and I do not know if you like it. I would think to revanish them to dark wood color semi gloss. Then to have those old french design type of chairs. The uphostery must not bee too dark though. Then you can put some lace dolly or candles or nice crystal dining wares on the table itself. A touch of french elegance. But, too bad i have a uncle minded husband and he said, "I want a round marble top dining table". I am still trying my best to change his mindset.

I also agree with el nono. Go for those really raw look with all matted wood or metal furnishing. Must have some office like space or furniture hor. Then you can have those rugged looking colorful rugs and brightly colored deco pieces. This will bring out the soho feel. My color scheme is going to be from white to black. That includes different shades of gray. Boring yeah, but i like to add in colors with my deco, rugs, pillows and such. I like to buy flowers once awhile too. If red must go for hot chilli red den nice!

I think the Caspian and the table do not really match as caspian is more modern looking. The lights and the table gives me a feel of classical elegance, I would try to retain this elegance.

We are going to build the partition wall between the 2 areas and it is to be a full height cabinets shape of a C about 2/3 of the wall with the tv on the lower cabinet top. We wanna segmentate the areas though.

Thanks all for the various comments. It has provided ideas to my CFO and I. I did not know that this is going to so tough to decide on the designs and size for the tv console, and trying to flow the dining area to the living room. After much discussion, we are now leaning towards breaking up the 2 spaces. The dining room we will keep the table simple with black wood table with extra glass on the top. no mirrors but simple off white walls and no false ceiling. The main feature will be the dining lights. We sorta like the innermost lighthouse and a halogen light that have 5 movable circles that lookes like the solar system orbiting around the sun from VLUX. We will really decide on what we want when we start doing the reno. The living room we are going t use the Lbox a small partition wall to break the room. The LBox will start from the walk way from the room and box up the living room with thick LBox near the dining are and tv console and slimer Lbox at the balcony and sofa side. A small partition wall about 70 - 80 cm wide will be on the left wall align to the living room Lbox. I do not know if I am making sense though. Behind the partition wall, the tv console will be built. We are thinking of going for a asymetric design with cabinets of different size and depth. This side wall will be painted dark blue grey to give the illusion of depth. I do not know if this will work into reality and still look good.

I was thinking of buying those howard store shelving and can diy adding or subtracting the shelves, esp each shelf can take up to 100kg. I just hope my kitchen is big inuff or else i wil have to get more storage for my pots and pans in the yard. I need my space in kitchen or else i can cook till i very fustrated and stomp out of kitchen..
