    Updates updates! Evorich HERF Vinyl (Eggshell) flooring for 3 bedrooms - Done! -went over to 'spot check' on the worksmanship. -they fix like jigsaw puzzle, very fast and neat -start at 9am, almost 40% done by 11am. -didn't stay on to see the completion though. No worries, got chance one. (Will update photos later. Don't know how to attach using iPhone,keke) So far, my house is about 70% complete. Left main thing is carpentry and small things like air con, window grills. Oh yes, and some painting of walls to be done ---> myself. Mainly white and maybe 1 wall of momento. Didn't ask Nicholas to do it as most of the walls are already white upon receiving of keys. No fanciful colours as I'm trying to make the place big and bright as possible. For those completed works, so far, I'm quite impressed by my ID works. No complain so far. A few times had some hipcups, he will called and let me know "don't worry, I will settle for you." After few days when I visit the flat, really all Swee Swee done up. Really glad I chose this reliable ID. I mean I have heard multiple stories on Renotalk that IDs can make some mistakes like wrong Colour, wrong decisions,etc. luckily for me, Nicholas is there to over-watch all my Reno while I busy away feeding milk. Haha. What I heard is that he also has a few seasoned carpenters who do very good carpentry. I have seen and tested the hinges n 'soft-closing' of cabinets at his office. No branded Blum needed here as I'm on budget, but you will be surprise how well the drawers close. Nicholas informed me that my carpentry will start tomorrow morning. Seriously, I can't wait for them to complete.

    Power! U can be a contractor liao! Really love your DIY kitchen cabinet! I think that's the last thing I will DIY! Haha..u must have lots of power tools on hand.. As for your chimney hood, I think it's more of cutting away the stainless steel sheet of your hood to align with the beam rather than the other way round. If I'm not wrong, your hood is kind of extendable one.

    Good mummy to agree Frozen theme for your kids. My daughter would die to have Frozen theme too if given the choice. But thinking of : 1) extra blue paint 2) I don't know how to draw Elsa or Anna 3) just a passing trend So I will be using acrylic paint to paint more classic cartoons like animals, castle, rainbows..easier and lasting. Haha. My daughter is 5 btw. Can't wait to see the Frozen room!

    mine reno so-so only lay...just that the CENTREPIECE not upz yet! update: -flooring mostly done. (except HERF for bedrooms) -sink support up. -hacked walls smoothen out. no time to upload photos (carry baby while typing this reply! will post in later post.)

    actually not a lot lah. just about balcony and kitchen walls...but becoz they are quite enclosed, so it really looks so much bigger now. keke.

    My ID, Nicholas was very helpful as he sent me photos when i was too busy to go down to "witness"all the hacking and messy work. he kept telling me not to take leave from work just to go down and see. he will make sure he do everything swee swee and nice nice for me. so the next 2 days i didn't go down to see what happen..and soon he sent me these photos..     Hi Seowleng, Do you know the model number of that lock? Is it the same as this? Yes! Yes! Looks is similar. Model number I'm not sure. But the salesgirl was saying the wooden door n metal gate one looks the same, but slightly different on the behind part. The back for the metal gate one, the 'open' switch has been removed. So that 'bad people' cannot put their hands into the metal gate n unlock. It can only be unlock using the remote given. (black squarish thingy with white strip across, and a button, I think so..)

    I came across a Yale digital lock that doesn't need this metal cover behind. There is currently a Luxury Home fair going on at Expo - look out for Ho Ho Engineering or something like that. They specialized in metal gates/door/windows. They actually have a demo unit. The Yale unit is specially created so that the back has no 'unlock' function. You have to use a remote control which u can mount somewhere near. Press and it will unlock. I think the package price for the Yale digital lock + standard metal gate is ~$988. (<-- I'm aiming at this too) I find this solution better than those digital lock that have to modify one.

    Thanks Songz. My only worry is the texture. Will it be hard to mop the kitchen floor due to the texture? And from the materials I choose, the kitchen will be kind of black/white Colour plus lots and lots of *bling *bling kind. Today start work already! Nick told me some minor prep works in on the way! Can't wait can't wait! Nick is fast man! I was expecting work to start in 2-3 weeks time. But he is good and plan well, do some minor work first, at least things start moving already. Woohoo! I'm a happy man today!

    Jasminnie, Thanks for referring Nicholas to me. He is now my ID too! I love yr kitchen laminate so much that I wanna have it too! In the end, I will be using it in my rooms wardrobe. Woohoo!

    nowadays i think can program to use RFID cards like Ezlink/Kopitiam/etc. right? or keychain-like tags? im also thinking of getting digital lock...but dun know to go for fingerprint or not. not sure if its sensitive, slow or good..

    kiang! like that you also can spot! i bought the last 2 balls. yes..the sales girl told me her price is about 3 times lesser than jalan besar/geylang, etc. but in my heart, i know she must have import from Taobao one..which is EVEN LOWER! just that...sigh...i don't know how to order from there. also the one i bought is glass lah..paid $80/ball for a piece of mind...

    Btw, my ID Nicholas **** good. got a lot of lobangs. recommended me to a banker who helped us applied for a Reno loan. submitted documents, sign here and there...and approved within a week or so. So those who need Reno loan to make your house nice nice...you know who to look for.......not Me! haha.. ID also brought me to chose tiles and laminate...even before my loan was approved! haha... at first chose this.. ">http:// but Nicholas was very good. he told me "no..no... cannot. The living floor design is more of a painting stokes, "messy kind" cannot mixed with the kitchen straight lines...will "crash"....so re-choose. spend another hour at Hafary.... finally....     Since waiting for HDB permit, shall post more. As we will be recycling most of our furniture from our current house, we will be saving some money here. spoilt then change lah! Chose this becoz the shining top will reflect the whole house, making it look even BIGGER! yes, BIGGER! 4) hooted hansgrohe shower head. yes, can afford the head only during the recent sale. 5) KDK fans - JB. yes, carried back as recommended by Renotalkers. It's really half price lor! bought 60"and baby fan (44") 6) Nippon Momento paint (did i mentioned it's kind of like half price also?) - JB. As i like to paint a lot, i will be painting myself. so keep a lookout on this thread once i complete. I didn't get any stuffs from Taobao,Tmall, etc, as I'm not good at Chinese, scare kenna conned. I really clap hands for those who knows how to taobao! i really must learn 1 day....

    Concept...don't know.. Theme..don't have. Must have... an Island! love to bake sometimes, and it will be great for informal gatherings or just a place to chill and chat. I have another plan for this...maybe... So we decided that i must hack my kitchen to open concept! make it bigger and brighter. -- approved by ID. build an island -- approved by ID. hack this and that -- approved by ID. ID helped us apply for HDB permit. Long waiting game....wait lor...
