  1. can use those dish drainer that is put on the counter-top one... yea it takes up a bit of space but at least dun need to dry manually i fully understand... i have seen yumiko's kitchen and also my kitchen is about the same width (= narrow! ), though length wise is shorter - i.e. i have a smaller kitchen yea lor no more island and stuff.... haiz what to do~
  2. my side of Jurong used to be Lim Boon Heng, i found him quite okie... too bad he has "retired". i thought Halimah is Bukit Batok side....
  3. the cakes are SO PRETTY!!! froggy should open a cake shop leh!
  4. unless your contractor is a lady then she won't run away if you "deh" LOL yea at least he acknowledged that he is at fault..... your reno will be completed soon... then you can start looking. jia you! or, or, if you are daring enough... throw first then after reno and moving then start searching.........
  5. i think ikea has something like this, but of course cannot be customized to make it tucks into your bottom cabinet la~ i guess your contractor should be able to make this~
  6. wahahaha then i must bring mangosteen~
  7. actually your Calypso is already curvy, so the curvy doors won't be too odd... i think you can still do some modern chic style with it!
  8. serious?? yea our wardrobe discussion is gone.... LOL
  9. LOL we really must meet... maybe it will be like a scene from movie when sisters who lost each other for 20 yrs finally met. hahahaha alamak... GE really disrupt your (and many other pple's) plans siah~ wah seems like a massive exodus is going to take place... hang in there... i guess market for accountants should be quite ok? i think we can PM reglxt... should have e-mail notification~
  10. or shall we save our stomach space for the Lee Wah Restaurant? btw, we should call reglxt and lazybum too? hee hee~
  11. my long kitchen is also giving me headache... but yours is definitely longer than mine~ troublesome, hor? and have to practice a lot of shuttle runs while cooking... btw shumin, nice to see another t-blog from Jurong resident. welcome~ your concern about the ugly pipes in kitchen is very valid... if they just run along the ceiling, can still cover up with a simple box-up and no need top cabinets. but if they also run vertically down in the middle of nowhere... then difficult liao~ gotten your keys already?
  12. sigh... how's things now? your colleagues also suffering like you? once reno is over, you can start to look around.... *hugz*
  13. wah the stains are BAD... my bathrooms got spalling ceiling when we bought the house but definitely didn't have stains as bad as these~ and the yellow liquid looks wet.... really hope HDB can do something about it! btw i went to Yumiko's house last weekend. she had a ventilation fan in her bathroom and according to her it's very effective. i think your bathroom likely is (and will be) quite moist, maybe you can consider a ventilation fan. but downside is cannot open the window la... this is also my question for the longest time. this rule is one of the first few sentences in the HDB guideline but i see EVERYBODY is doing this especially for patching up bathroom ceilings (seems like the only solution for spalling ceiling). i dunno if the guideline is only meant for e.g. living room but not applicable for wet area... can anyone advise~
  14. for the benefit of those who haven't read: http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/sin...1123962/1/.html really sick and tired of reading his arguement - the more he depends himself, the worse it gets~
  15. i thought it's quite well known that MM likes FS? kekeke anyway, i'm glad that gahmen didn't disrupt our plan~
  16. but they have the photos rite? would it be good enough for them to judge? so i supposed this is the kind of "HDB will check on you" thing that your contractor always "warns" you about? but frankly it will be good to discover now than later... see if HDB can use the photo and do anything about the leakage~
  17. hey bro, if i remember correctly, the problem about instant heater is not only about the water pressure, and also the mechanism of it such that the instant heater must be higher than the shower head, and this is quite unlikely to happen cos rain shower itself very high.... also how many L/min of water can the instant heater take? cases of instant heater spoils due to use of rain shower is quite well documented in RT... you can do a search on it erm i help Mae answer... she stays on low floor nia. you stay on 15th floor... but how tall your block is? it depends on how far are you away from the top floor and not only how high/low your floor is~
  18. wah, what you have mentioned are all of different materials.... stainless steel pipes copper pipes toilet accessories (usually chrome) windows (aluminum? with white powder coated?) since the materials are all different, treatment to them are all different.... 1) Stainless steel pipes Think I have mentioned in many other threads... you may see some faint brownish stains on stainless steel... you need to do chemical pickling to get rid of them. for myself, someone that's not good with hands-on, i won't do it myself cos this requires the use of strong acid. just leave it cos it's not rusting or something, it's just an aesthetic thing 2) Copper pipes usually copper pipes are painted rite? so even if it oxidizes you can't see............... 3) Toilet accessories, taps etc... Chrome plated surfaces. Use water and sponge to clean, some mild cleaner will help. but don't use strong cleaner or abrasive type of cleaner (e.g. magic cleaning sponge, cif) cos this will cause the chrome surface to wear out. 4) Windows - please provide more info before anyone can advice further hope this helps~
  19. just btw, election is on 7 May.... so i guess we can confirm 21 May liao hor?
  20. yea yea just stay tuned to those threads that we are normally camping in, should have a few more gatherings on the way we move all over the island... Singapore is not so big nia~
