i'm never anti-apple - in fact i LOVE mac!! i just dun like the way many pple use "smart" phone (notably iphone), dun want to spend extra on data plan, and dun want to use a phone that everyone is using~ hahahaha~ but i may consider Andriod if there are nice looking ones. i will think about it in Dec but i have some problem using touch screens, so.............

LOL very easy to understand once he said that. actually we didn't plan to have L-box initially. only when the electrician came to discuss the lighting point with us, he looked up and frowned at the ceiling... he said "wah your ceiling like that, once the trunking for the lights comes in, you can see which one straight which one not straight liao" so he suggested to put L-box. we're glad we heed his advice~

i think there is not much things they can do to the ceiling... no thanks to HDB poor workmanship to start with~ like how my contractor likes to put it... he said... plastering is like gals putting make-up... make average or bad skin looks good, but there is only this much they can do for VERY BAD skin... LOL (just btw, i mentioned before that HDB rule said no plastering on ceiling. but................ ) my ceiling is like those humps you can see in photos of Sahara Desert... very jialat... joint lines are very far from straight but we have to accept the fact la~ thank God the L-box covered up the wavy lines quite well~

hey dear, you shouldn't feel bad for your ID and it's unnecessary to close this blog - if the boss wants to be unhappy, he should be unhappy with his subcons and not with your blog - the subcons that have delivered sub-standard workmanship and display poor attitude! totally not your fault at all~ In fact, it's good to keep this around so pple will be fully prepared for what is the potential problems with reno~ as we can see that these kind of problematic subcons has already appeared many times on RT. this can be a reference not only to those engaging Ideal House, since all ID companies use subcons~ no need to protect the ID here either cos till now we still dunno who he is anyway, you already mentioned here that his own jobs with other clients are fine, so that serves as a positive testimony for him, rite? Keep the spirit - freedom of expression, documented evidence, truthful facts, sharing of opinions - alive~

when i stayed in hostel and hall, we were made to shift room every year (until my last 2 years of uni life). the thought of shifting room is already daunting for me, let alone shifting house~ wahahahaha thanks~ but first of all, i need to get the room furnished........... you need activated carbon, not just normal charcoal... and your house being 135 sqm, you probably require charcoal in tons~ so it's probably easier to open all the windows and ceiling fans and let the wind do the job~ not sure about your huge honeywell filter though~ better to save the baking soda for baking cakes.....

my painter diluted the paint with water and pour down directly to the drainage pipe, definitely not through the toilet bowl. (if they did, they will have a good time cleaning it cos my toilet bowl is white ) yea footprint your ID seems like a good and helpful guy. if he was the one handling Ely's home, probably she would have moved in liao but can tell that somehow her ID is not getting along well with the company.... so maybe afterall, it's a good thing that he left and started his own~ can you imagine... Ely's neighbour moved in already and they are using the same ID??

yea in the first page you mentioned I**** H****. I guess there isn't a lot of IP company going by this name~ the paint job is really bad... i'm sure they have more than one painting subcon! (for e.g., i thought footprint one was okie? We have enough sample size of pple using Ideal House here) if the painters are doing a bad job, demand them to change~! dun offer them drinks la~ take them away and enjoy the drinks yourself. the workers don't deserve the treats from you! reading all these really made me feel very angry for you~ maybe it's really time to let the company know their reputation is at stake with this kind of workmanship you should also let the company know that your things have been disappearing and someone has to pay for the damage~ this is very true. i need to deal with different vendors/contractors at work. i'm nice to them most of the time... but when i ever get angry, the contractors will be very scared cos they know i really mean it, and suddenly things get done much faster~ a get-around to this is, i will tell the contractor "wah you have 30 yrs of experience! you must be very good! i'm sure you are a professional and doing this easy thing would be a breeeeze to you... " so far it works. you can considering trying that enlist your hubby to do the scolding? he's part of the team mah, not reinforcement... effectiveness will be x2 if the scolding is done in Hokkien~ (provided workers are local/malaysians...) definitely agree with May! it's really great talking to you... you're such a nice and fun person!

I also think it's okie to install wall fan... just like a normal standing fan at a fixed position, rite? but for ventilation fan, it can only be installed at the window, and the window contractor has to submit the application to HDB for approval. not sure leh~ according to Yumiko, the fan works. probably also depends on the power of the ventilation fan... both Yumiko's and sleek's bathrooms seem pretty "enclosed" becos of the WIW. but of course, sleek's one will be a large "enclosure" thanks to the record-breaking WIW~

btw, i just recalled coming across another t-blog, in which the owner was using the same ID company as you (if i guessed it correctly~). she also faced the same problem of the ID not able to control the various subcons and there were loads of issues. In the end, the boss has to go down together with the ID to supervise the jobs and got things moving. i certainly don't hope your reno will end up like that, but just *in case* things still don't get done as per the promised weekly schedule, you can consider alerting the boss..... that's probably the ultimatum of course, but the company still must fulfill this contract with you in a satisfactory manner even though the ID has already left~ anyway, just fyi ya~

that sounds like my MIL... she likes to move house too, but now old liao lazy to move (this is exactly what she told me LOL) yea i think our side of flats got a lot of odd beams here and there, maybe becos the block is curvy? hee hee~ actually now my bedroom 2 is not furnished.... currently it houses our ironing board, 2 cellos, 1 keyboard and 1 digital piano i'd probably conquer the wardrobe once i get this room furnished.... kekekeke

bro finally see you again! thanks for the detail explanation~ yea i saw those struggling half-dead ones... gross x 10 hmmm actually what is gulley trap? i never flood the floor with water when i clean the kitchen. not a common practice to do this in HK... maybe kitchens too small that's why i had a lot of "experience" with roaches since young... SG got a lot of ants while HK got a lot of roaches~! i used take a "hands-off" approach - they dun disturb me, i dun disturb them my mom used to use those sticky roaches traps, which we affectionately called the "cockroaches hotel" in HK but now come to think that the roaches came from dunno where - rubbish chute? drainage pipes? then better make sure they dun come in cos super unhygienic la! i witnessed a lot of ants committing suicides in the various places i have stayed. i dunno why they like to do that have seen them matching into hot kettle and die! another thing is lizard.... dunno why the "residence" lizard at my home always poo at the same spot every morning.... maybe it's toilet-trained?
