Terrazzo Flooring!
marshmallow replied to bench's topic in RENOVATION IDEAS: Interior Design Themes, Space Planning
i dun think polishing can remove stains... anyway, last year's home and decor magazine got someone who retained the 30+ yrs old terrazzo, the whole effect looks great. forgot which issue liao... you can look for it in the library or at home and decor website -

Christina Aguilera, Eva Longoria... all these are stars that are about our height well i'm some 5cm shorter than you hahahaha~ difference is that i only have 5.5 ft of wardrobe i bet Mariah Carey's one is almost the size of a 3-room HDB... LOL -
but your kitchen looks great and matches with the theme of the rest of the house~ of course the KitchenAid is nice too hahaha and ya so many cabinets! envy!

nope. all along for new flats from HDB, you can only buy private after fulfilling the MOP (minimum occupation period) of 5 yrs.

Congrats!! *confetti flying* -
i think moth ball is more for insect and not for mold, so it's not going to be effective against the mold. i cleaned my wardrobe with bleach last week. it's coming back again that's the price of staying near a lake... high humidity niah~ i also read that tea tree oil can be used in place of bleach. it is a better (and safer?) solution as compared to bleach or hydrogen peroxide, but should be a lot more pricey... anyway, i am thinking of getting those wardrobe dehumidifier. anyone used this before?

i remembered Royal Fanco's boss said for HDB, there are 2 main sizes of fitting for WC. need to measure the distance from the wall to the sewege hole, then they will be able to provide the correct size fitting. LOL and one thing i learned after this reno: do not wear high heels when going for WC shopping! the "comfort level" will be different!

if yours is chimney hood, then just one hood at the wall is fine... i think... hahahahah the way you describe the small dark place is very funny~ if you can find something you like at the Chinese Garden stretch of lighting shops, just get from there - if the light bulb not working or something, no need to travel so far to change i got all sanitary and kitchen stuff from Royal Fanco @ Jalan Besar (same as friends78). very good service and price is good though the shop is small and not impressive, once you tell them what you want, they will bring out the stuff one by one from their storeroom... like doraemon LOL

if you are using the conventional oven function, microwave is not on, unless you choose combination. since microwave is not on, then it will just act like a normal oven and your cookie sheet can be used. hope it helps

hahahaha dun think you'll be noisier than your neighbours... when kids are young, they cry or play loudly. when kids get older (teenage), they blast music etc. so i guess you'll actually be the quieter one i think most condo can use ventilating type of hood leh, it's HDB that must use the recirculating type. and i'm really curious to know - please pardon my sua-gu-ness - what is 3 player MJ? you mean take out one of the suits so that 3 pple can play?? btw, Kinect is fun!!!
-
what kind of hood you have - chimney type or the slim type? bro your MBR toilet is bigger than mine lor i have dark tiles on 2 walls and beige tiles for the other 2 walls... while you may think dark tiles make toilet very small, i think it compliments quite well with your resort theme... heh anyway, just my $0.02 if you are not comfortable, better get it changed cos you're going to face it for a long time~ but i agree that the toilet feature wall one will be a pain to clean... hahaha not sure about you, but for kitchen tiles, i would prefer something more plain so it won't fight for attention with your cabinet, which is the star of the kitchen

wahahahahaha you're not alone, and i know why standing on chair alone is not enough~ hahahahah you know what, our contractor left behind a ladder. those very tall type (at least 5 steps!) i wanted to keep it cos it's quite expensive but hubby threw it away (when i wasn't looking!) becos he didn't want to clean it! so now we're still without any ladders and i duly ask hubby to perform all tasks that require reaching to a higher vertical distance hahahaha so my introduction of HSW makes you spent money.... -

on the tiles: your toilet floor is 60x30 or 30x30 or 60x60? i remember you didn't want 30x30 but i dunno if that's the final conclusion~ if toilet floor is 30x30, then i feel vertical will be nicer cos one side of the wall tile normally is 30cm... so it just aligned with the floor tile (if they can, cos HDB walls very CMI so sometimes they can't align ). and last time my contractor said before the tiles got "vertical" type and "horizontal" type (not due to the patterns), if the tiles are the "vertical" type, then it's meant to be laid vertically -
i slipped on my non-slip homo tiles a few times before (those rough surface one)... so just wanna highlight that we still gotta be careful when the floor is wet~
-
like that then cannot comment liao... cos i went without an ID~

i personally find Asia Excel stuff quite ex... but if the quality is better, i guess it's worth it?

Correct~ but nowadays, seldom go back there.... -

bro, you only need to pay back the grant if your next house is a new HDB (e.g. BTO), this is called the resale levy. if your next house is also a resale flat, no need to pay resale levy~ this is clearly written on HDB website....
