Happy Couple Decorates: A House, Not Yet A Home

My project with Alan is finishing. He is accomodating to changes but he would do the wrong design or materials initially. Rather frustrating in the beginning and almost wanted to change him. Then I started to talk to his sub-contractors directly. That's when there are lesser problems because Alan always gets the measurements wrong or other stuff wrong. No problems when giving instructions to the sub-con directly. As a result my reno process takes longer because I do no have many leaves to take. I think he also dun mind we speak to his sub-contractors. That means lesser job and responsibility for him. I wished he could ask me more questions because an experienced guy like him should help to guide us by highlighting the blind spots. Good to tell him specifically how you wish to do it otherwise very likely the outcome could be slightly different from what u expect. Alternatively you could choose not to be picky and accept whatever he produce -

From my experience with Alan, he is more suitable for house owners who has experience in renovation, not picky and an unit that has a simple design i.e. very basic & typical design. 1st time owner, owner who has expectation and/or complicated design will have a fairly hard time. -
Hi! I would like to check whether we can make the door opening for bedrooms bigger i.e. hack the wall above the door frame? Need permit? I want to make the bedroom doors taller.

The grilles at my bay window is installed by the HDB. There are a total of 8 horizontal bars running across. I understand we cannot change the window at bay windows. Can we remove or change the grilles? Any regulation that forbid us from doing that? Advice is appreciated

Hi! anyone can advice whether we can remove or change the grilles at bay window? The grilles at my bay window is fixed by HDB and runs from the ledge to the top. It spoils the view. Anyone can advise me?
