  1. I do not like bi-fold door since they spoil easily. My relatives have sworn off using them for kitchen and toilet a long time ago. I think sliding glass door is much better. Gives a semi open concept, slim and doesn't take up space.
  2. I have both, curtains and roller blinds. Going forward, I will only use roller blinds for kitchen since it is easier to wipe and remove the grease. I will NOT recommend roller blinds for rooms since when it get windy...especially at night ...they make a LOT OF NOISE! I have to draw up the blinds to stop them from banging against the window grills and the walls....otherwise I cant sleep since it is so noisy. For me..curtain can be inexpensive as long as you do not choose those fancy or expensive fabric.
  3. I remember that home fix or self fix retails the chalkboard paint. If you intend to use for writing...you should stick to the chalkboard paint. For matt paint, will attract fingerprints easily. As for the white patches, I think those are molds..if the paint didn't cure or dry properly will have those ugly patches.
  4. Try Home-fix or self fix. I believe you can find a lot of materials and tips from their websites. happy reno!
  5. Thank you! Absolutely love your kitchen island..Cant wait to see your flat complete transformation..
  6. Hdb just issued a circular stating that the aircon pipes should be directed to the drainage directly. Alternatively, just place a pail to collect the water. Else the water might seep to the toilet below n you have to pay for the damages. http://diva79.blogspot.sg/2014/10/there-have-been-some-new-changes-been.html The solution to porous tiles is to apply sealant but it's not permanent.. And will wear out. Need to reapply every year...but clear sealant will also yellow with age..so I would usually recommend to use darker tiles.

  13. I am using Yale digital lock..very good. Makes the metal gates sorta redundant. Have been using over a year while my relative have used the same one for over 6 years with no issues at all. I am unsure of samsung but my general experience with Samsung is that their products are not very lasting. Though its cheaper.
