My id was suggesting having cove light in the study room. Actually thats my husband's home office, he didnt want those normal ceiling light so id suggested cove light but we are worried that it might not be bright enough. So u think its bright enough to do work?

We also dropped by S & C to take a look abt a month earlier. The lady there is friendly. So we might be getting dining table + chairs, coffee table and bed frame from them. As for sofa, we still want to have a feel b4 buying so looking else where.

Wah the brwn small mosaic tiles near the main entrance is so retro and yesteryears. The bar counter too. My new place also got marble flooring. Just like what u said, lovely, ex but dam ugly! I'm hacking mine.

Not an expert but answers given from my personal experience. - My hse audit took abt 45 mins to an hr. My sisis which is done by another FSM took abt 3 hrs. - I read that there are 2 schs for fengshui, 1 is based on the 'ba zi' of the ppl going to live in that hse. Another sch is based on the external geomancy/ envrionment of the hse, eg the pillars or bldgs that in facing u in ur hse direction. - Mine used luopan - My FSM took my fl plan and wrote down all the details on it like the suitable colours, direction of the person when using study table etc - I gave ang bao. Didnt ask for invoice & receipt.

My FSM also not the commercial type. After my hse audit, he only told us to put a painting. a water feature and a light(at the main entrance). he also recommended certain colours. He also did for 2 of my gal fren's place. Quite spot on for his 'audit'

Met up with the 1st id we met in Jan/Feb (too long to remember). The revised quote he gave was 9k over our budget. So told him to go relook and see if can lower further. To date, we have talked to 4 ids and 2 contractors. The reason why we kept to this particular id is that we were comfortable with him. Even mu hubby who is not easy to deal with, I felt comfortable with the id and most of all he can keep to the deadline given. Now the most impt factor is $$$. Hopefully the quote can be further lowered.

look nice! i like ur toilet tiles and the living rm windows. Noticed that u dun have the basin in the MBR toilet and u mention vanity light. u brought out the basin out from the toilet?

Had my try using floorplanner. Quite fun but not so good on the measurements. Still, can visualise more on the layout of things.

Updates again. FSM went up to our new place. So far its ok to change the MBR door and the vanity sink can be shifted out (subject to HDB approval). The colours suitable for us are als quite the cosy colours and acceptable. The only thing he said cant was no black in the kitchen. So no black dining tables and the induction hob that i am eyeing. My agent also recommended a ID cum contractor to look at our place. So told him what I want to do and he will do a quote for us. Finally can settle more things for the house and not just sit and wait. We also went to a few lighting shops along balestier rd. Saw the alpha bb fan. Nice will get it for my gals room. I think the pricing at lighting.com.sg are quite cheap. So most likely will get our lights from there.

Thats not my hse, only 1 of the unit we viewed during hse hunting and managed to see the pics in a website.

My new place will be in AMK ave 4. Oh... I get what u mean for the store rm. Hw abt put back at the original place? 1 of the ID i approached, suggested taking away the store rm and build wider cabinets towards the end of the kitchen to put store rm stuff like vacuum cleaner. ID said that anyway store rm normally cluttered and cant walk in so waste space. But we not comfortable without it, thou now my store rm is like open, throw things in and close the door. We are getting our keys in late Jun so now is sourcing for ID/ contractor. Hw much is ur reno quote?

Me too, also tot of that. But i already taken away the common toilet sink. Was thinking of bringing out the sink to MBR than can have a screen in the toilet. But subject to HDB approval. I have a pic taken off a property webpg. The sink is outside. But i would want to put a screen bet the shower and toilet bowl.

Ur place looks nice. Great diff from the original. I used to stay in pasir ris too. blk 55x, 5 room. I love pasir ris, got a resort feeling everytime i go home. I like ur toilet and ur kitchen. May i know how much u spend for ur reno?

Lucky u, can keep the flooring. Mine was really not nice so got to hack. When u getting ur keys? Looking for ID is much tougher than i expected. I also want to bring the sink out to the MBR so that i can have a vanity top and a shower screen in the toilet. But i think subjects to HDB approval. Will definite share share the ideas with all here.

Wah, ur pic makes me drool. Actually it was my gal who wants 'hotel' theme. Cos i think always air-conditioned the whole day plus carpet. We are trying to get minimalist cum cosy style. I think the lights in the house can also help to achieve the hotel feel. We are actually looking for a place to put up for abt 2 to 3 weeks so that the reno need not be too rush. Also been looking ard for furnitures so that it would be a rush. Once my FSM confirms the layout of furnitures, i should be able to confirm whether to get ID or contractor.

Some updates, tomorrow we are going for the 1st appt fpr the purchase of the amk flat. As my sis is also doing up her place, we gave her contractor our fl plan and got him to quote. Suprisingly, his estimated quote is much higher than the last ID we met. Abt 3k more. He also said that the price that the ID quoted was very low. Some even near to cost price. That makes us worried, ID quoted so low, means quality will be low too? Initially i tot my reno not very major so should be ard 25k but looks like its not going to be.
