  1. hey there, tks for the info. would be helpful for those who wanna earn cash back or rebates straight rather than points system which seemingly hard to chalk. me too using SC manhattan card for big purchases btw, jus to add. if i'm not wrong, the limit and the max you can get back is $300 cashback per quarter. correct me if i'm wrong ya
  2. hai, i believe in elements, energy and sorts (though am quite a free-thinker) and quite keen on getting long shi fu to come up my place. but i have my designs in mind and i really don't want to change it big time. hence, the dilemma to have long or no long. haha now that you see through it, suggest you make sure yr ID gets his or her creative juice going and adhere to shi fu's consultation hey hey, my reno starting 19 jul. you're my buddy buddy now. keep each other updated about reno ya. haha
  3. nothing is more relieved to hear that the reno is smooth huh. LAN points for the whole house? for opennet?
  4. So far, reno has been smooth execpt for little little issues but i think still ok - ya, nothing beats than having a smooth reno in the end. mine is counting down to the start of reno liao
  5. impress any girls? yes, i did. just one. she's from military band back then - and i impressed her, my wife without blowing any musical instruments. ha 60k and expecting higher! am sure you all have come well prepared for the reno huh i die die must capped it at 40k for this reno alone, otherwise it spells trouble! hey, doing your wedding dinner too this year huh? same here... one **** of a hectic time isn't it hai, really crossing my fingers that banquet can break even man... when's your big day? *feeling dizzy* another 10k for wood flooring. i am even prepared to skip the 2k laminate flooring in the rooms for now! haha..
  6. We figured we are setting up a zoo after all dont need to be so politically correct lah - gd one. that saves a lot on appliances and sanitary wares. well... the world is your urinal. wahahah... just kidding, no offence ya suppose you will do your research for pricing, so give Mega the last stop and ask them to match the pricing. they're most likely able to. happy shopping!
  7. awww... written with so much emotions in it. I feel you, man. haha My momma always said, "Life was like a box of... boxes. You never know what you're gonna put inside." hahaha time to make some new memories.... reminds me of a bon jovi song. now you're getting me all emo...
  8. man.......... i can really imagine the loss. blame it on the 3M! yea, i have no music sense as well. tried taking guitar classes yrs ago to try impress girls at chalet but can't seem to hit any notes at all. blame it on being young and impatience in the end, i told myself i do have some muscial talent afterall. i can play the triangle efficiently and seemingly, i can blow some unrecorded notes with any 3 parts of the recorder. HA!
  9. CONGRATS!!! hmmm, nt sure if yr agent informed you to go do a trf of the utilities at sp services. he has to remind the seller not to terminate the services too la. almost a immediate trf when you do in at sp itself. i did mine at somerset. there's a deposit to pay but only reflected at the first bill. there's also the fire insurance you need to buy (you can do that at your 2nd apppointment) but is really cheap like 9 or 10 bucks for 5 years. the 400 bucks one is comprehensive covering reno items and injuries etc... conservancy fees need to wait for a week first right then go down town council to do. that's what my agent told me. also, head down to police station to have yr ics change to the new add ya. yr id may have one temporary lock for reno duration and will pass you a key. don't need to buy. I bought and in the end, not used.
  10. welcome to RT too! ENORMOUS place i say and a balcony to boot! you have my envy hands down ignore the following comment though; can't help but imagine how long the kitchen island i can have if this is my place!!! like i said, you can ignore. ha well look around in this forum, there are few contractors here that are a frequent lot used by fellow RT mates. meet more, no harm ya. most important i feel is budget and chemistry with the contractor or id in the end.
  11. yeah now own place GET A RUG! hahaha i always keep a few gd ones in hand. gd for gatherings! here's one classic and never gets dull. it gets lengthy though A store that sells new husbands has opened in New York City, where a woman may go to choose a husband. Among the instructions at the entrance is a description of how the store operates: You may visit this store ONLY ONCE! There are six floors and the value of the products increase as the shopper ascends the flights. The shopper may choose any item from a particular floor, or may choose to go up to the next floor, but you cannot go back down except to exit the building! So, a woman goes to the Husband Store to find a husband. On the first floor the sign on the door reads: Floor 1 - These men Have Jobs. She is intrigued, but continues to the second floor, where the sign reads: Floor 2 - These men Have Jobs and Love Kids. 'That's nice,' she thinks,'but I want more.' So she continues upward. The third floor sign reads: Floor 3 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids, and are Extremely Good Looking. 'Wow', she thinks, but feels compelled to keep going. She goes to the fourth floor and the sign reads: Floor 4 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids, are Drop-dead Good Looking and Help With Housework. 'Oh, mercy me!' she exclaims, 'I can hardly stand it!' Still, she goes to the fifth floor and the sign reads: Floor 5 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids, are Drop-dead Gorgeous, Help with Housework, and Have a Strong Romantic Streak. She is so tempted to stay, but she goes to the sixth floor, where the sign reads: Floor 6 - You are visitor 31,456,012 to this floor. There are no men on this floor. This floor exists solely as proof that women are impossible to please. Thank you for shopping at the Husband Store. PLEASE NOTE: To avoid gender bias charges, the store's owner opened a New Wives store just across the street. The first floor has wives that love sex and like beer. The second floor has wives that love sex, like beer, have money and are good looking. The third, fourth, fifth and sixth floors have never been visited.
  12. As long as you're happy PEACE. That's what I'm talking about!
  13. hahaha... Someone said : growing old is mandatory. Growing up is optional. I am thinking men. ARE YOU THAT SOMEONE?
  14. YEA, EAers.... let's show them what we can do with our space. hahaha (strictly no offence to anyone)
  15. and you? the giraffe eh. haha well, the discounted items at Lifestorey seems to good to give it a miss isn't it. anyway, head down to Mega. am quite confident the pricing are attractive. HN is reputable for its extended warranty but then if you need that, I understand you can buy the extended warranty from aviva itself. Or that's what i heard so far. extended warranty or not, i still feel Mega is nicer to shop. 2 cents view
  16. more expensive tiles... wa, i feel short changed here! haha wa... almost lost my breadth reading that liner. haha... but still from the floorplan, it seems achievable lei.. mechanism on the sofa i mean. no recliner or sort which is what i have in mind u c
  17. wa... took me quite some time to digest the dialogue. well, this is an open forum and seemingly i actually find some comfort in knowing that this is actually a secondary platform to iron things out. so work hand in hand and hope your reno will be even a smoother one after this episode ya wow... you had your carpentry done cross the crossway matashi? highly recommended? gd price too?
  18. welcome to renotalk and congrats on yr new place.. hmm.. yr floorplan exudes royalty i must say. it looks castleish!
  19. EXACTLY! hahaha.... but then come to think of it again, i think i instigated it. my signature must be very on the ball and updated man, otherwise ppl reading in this forum will have to read through certain number of pages about bitches and pussies. opps... hahahaha
  20. still considering heavily if i should get my panasonic plasma lei... for the ultimate black!
  21. well, all the items listed in the group buy... I bought! just lack the tv now though. will take pics maybe after the appliances are in the new house.
  22. side story... i actually had a 3 yrs old silky terrier once. for 2 days. only. you see, my mum issued an ultimatum - either the dog goes, or she it. I had to choose my mum. hai...
  23. ahh...the long awaited pics! wa... yr id's quote gave you tile selection up to $4.20? or do you have to top-up? mine only up to $3.50! haha.. curious curious strong the force of wood is... and what a huge mbr! drawn to scale? how i envy you if it is.. you got so much space beside the bed still! no mechanisms at all i suppose? I LIKE... haha
  24. welcome welcome. glad that I was able to help.
  25. ah... modern resort theme. then the fabric is made for your theme then! yea, i have to make another trip down too with my id to cfm color for the sofa as well as to buy the rug. btw, rug is carry and carry item and not part of lifestorey. saw the ghost chair but na... not a fan of that. there's 3 sets of leather sofas there and i think the price is worthy to take a look too. try if you can drop by there during the coming weekend... who knows, you may in for a surprise!
