  2. warm welcome to RT! do hope to see all your reno journey in here!
  3. DAY WHEN WOOD WOULD continues... the long awaited kitchen island and dining has finally emerged; TOP: the island and dining table in full glory. hope to pack in a family of 6 for dinner TOP: where previously was just wall, now an island is born TOP: elkay double equal bowl kitchen sink installed.. really no wrong spending a lil more getting this. luv it. TOP: close up of my dining table TOP: laminate used on the dining table. yes, my only indulgence for my raw, industrial look.
  4. DAY WHEN WOOD WOULD continues... carpentry works in the kitchen has also commenced; TOP: the usual angle we would capture our kitchen. tic tac door is also in. and the sneak peak of the kitchen island TOP: close up of the new kitchen cabinets. those that follow my tblog, yes this is then the new cabinets. not the flashy red color ones before. ha! TOP: ahhh...... the brand, Brandt and the oven and the microwave TOP: also the same piano gloss white laminate to be used on the cabinets in the kitchen TOP: used on the lil 'C' shelf at the start of the kitchen island. see above first pic to be continued...
  5. DAY WHEN WOOD WOULD alas, the day has come where everything takes into forms. behold! the carpentry works; TOP: living room cabinets underway with display feature aka the "gey zuang" area as my wife calls it. I really like to put up A Peaceful Bomb vase by Taiwanese design duo Owen and Cloud though. wouldnt be too difficult to look for my unit from downstairs then, just spot the bomb! TOP: living room cabinets' door TOP: laminate used on cabinets in living room to be continued...
  6. since i'm at it (sorry if i really sound like a kpo ya), i would still thinking leaving a good kitchen walkway, and just a parallel kitchen layout would be good i.e nt having the fridge there. not sure what kind of build-in cabinet fridge you had previously but does it mean that previously your fridge space was fixed and you cannot anyhow change fridge model? care to share why?
  7. Tks, compliments coming from you the-one-with-the-infinity-island really means a lot! haha. yes, next up is my real carpentry works! is it because of your false ceiling? so happen that we only wanna false ceiling at the side and not the entirety, so yea leaving us the option of having it. but id frowned so badly when we decided to have one. ha.. thankfully, after searching high and low, we found one nice enough to match the house design. and id finally de-frowned. hahahaha and still no regrets bout buying a EA till date. you're d a r n right bout that. hope you clocked a gd timing for the ahm ya. my line up for the rest of the year? newton 30, new balance 15, break till my wedding day, follow by standchart 42 and I believe i will attempt for the 3rd time to try complete the 100km Raleigh's society "Let's Take A Walk". hopefully, the 3rd is a charm and I will finish walking it!
  8. well you see.. Geberit is notably good for its flushing tech on wall-hung toilet i think, so i jus assume is equally good to have it on our norm w.c lor. afterall, our w.c can open up and see the technology working inside you know. dont think they will anyhow. haha bottom line is, our bottom likes it when we sat on it, so hey open champagne and bottoms up! hahaha
  9. paint the study pink??? i'll expedite it, go to a firm and bring you the papers too. THAT'S TOO MUCH! hahahaha eh, quite similar. i'm more of stainless steel, concrete, grey person. but wife is pro white white and insist that cement screeded floor or too industrial look is out. so gotta meet each other halfway so you can say our house design even out too. hahaha
  10. cool, i buy that. but jus make sure yr walk-in to kitchen is comfortable enough k. it looks tight with the fridge quite near to the entrance. is there going to be a glass door for the kitchen? otherwise, if all planned for already... can't wait to see your big fridge! haha
  11. thank you, thank you.. eh.. daring is hardly a word to us but think we will try to still look young and colorful. haha and yeap, we can't wait to see how close the final product would be to the 3d pics too!
  12. shouldnt it be the other way round? hubby choosing the milo tin light and while you should be asking for pink? haha.. to put it nicely, wa your hubby really metrosexual (i still don't know if this is the official word) huh? oooo.... i love plastered walls.. so silky smooth. alas, i didnt want to incur any more cost for the reno.. so i ask also never ask at all
  13. designing to your own desire but hey, is a job really well done! wa.. another wedding and reno back-to-back couple. same here but big day in nov 13, so can really understand what you mean by very very busy! gd luck for everything
  14. rightfully so, cause tile color and size is a big component to the whole house's aesthetics i feel! gd luck!
  15. yes yes, we bought cause it looks so neat to our eyes. giberit is a bonus for us! you got pm.
  16. at least items are in and go wit reno right.. mine are already all in the house in a room! collecting dust. ha
  17. 2 cents view k hmm... you got yourself seemingly a parallel kitchen layout already, so if it's up to me, i would try to put my fridge within the parallel. that way, you have unobstructed entry into the kitchen. also, consider the glass window will always ganna water splash and marks cause washing is done there and inevitably will ganna de. and you know sometimes, you pour away some hot liquids like soup etc.. there might be steam on the glass window too. wouldn't be nice if guests are out there watching tv and suddenly, the glass window went misty. hope it helps!
  18. so who will lugi more ah? haha chill chill... am not. haha.. artist's impression only. i do not have such high ceiling to hang an artichoke lighting too. however, after much debate and in-dept discussion with id and by chance a lighting consultant.. we got ourselves a customised 4ft lighting feature to flank along the kitchen island cum dining. Collection at Lightcraft today!!!
  19. atas, cosmopolitan, sophisticated and timeless. yea, you got pretty much of it my wife and i are trying to acheive. haha and totally, we were saying we are only daring with colors on the soft furnishings to inject more vibrancy into the house! spot-on, patsy!
  20. another EA! and welcome to tblog really big house you have btw. well, slant is slant alright.. but think not so bad cause it seems to be compensated by the long length of it. so yea, happy thoughts! it will turn out fine most walls are hackable, so there you go, the unit will be enormous if you are hacking any also, if i may comment, i will do without the existing miserable store. firstly, it will open up the walkway to the rooms, making it bigger. secondly, you have a huge huge kitchen to boot, so can think of relocating it to the kitchen instead ya. 2 cents view!
  21. let me find out the retail price first of your coffeemaker first. wahahah
  22. man, i must have missed out those kitchen pics previously!! that that that cantilevered counter! ! ! ! I wanna it so badly on my dining but id is concerned how stressed the dining table would be consider a family dinner on it. so he decided to have a rest to better balance the load. that that that peanut corner unit.... yes, the brand Hafele is synonymous with the word expensive or very expensive!! can't wait to see more pics of your lovely dwelling man! more pics! more pics!
  23. idea lei.. come one day i will jus film myself when i'm whipping up a meal eh. come to think of it, i can't wait to try my hands on my tiramisu again. this time, with a full kitchen of my own! now if only someone will buy me a stainless steel kitchenaid mixer for my housewarming. haha
  24. is that line some sort of where the new meets old? can't really tell from the picture. sorry cause if there's a joint, rightfully there should be some sort of a crack suppression membrane, netting or sort before new plastering or painting goes over
  25. yes yes, it took us half the day with our ID to fully arrest and comprehend the electrical works for our house too! esp when it came to the 2 way switches, i hardly can follow up and almost switched off. ha. LED lights? i did not even breathe a word of it for fear the cost will just scare us away. ha! must be awesome when your lightings are done up then. btw, for a moment i tot Darkfear & Marsbars is a d a m n cool atas lighting shop in some ulu area of singapore! hahaha. only to realise is our fellow forum mates. to hear a contractor hanging out so late with a client to talk about renovation speaks volume! jaskel, you're really professional. but 5.30am in the morning??! ! ! admit it jaskel, you're like what i see in tv those contractor contractor bring client to entertainment right. hahahahaha really looking forward to yr reno with abated breadth!
