  1. Good to know you got your exchange of hob !
  2. I was quoted $1300 for my 120 sqm 5 room. using NIPPON.
  3. Bought mine from www.thianlee.com.sg 10 years ago....totally bolt-less and have moved house with it and re-assembled back. no problem at all. made in japan. comes in many heights and depth depending on how big your store room is. i will be getting again from them as i need a 2nd rack for my new place - 3rd time. Yes, still moving the old / first rack with us. free delivery and installation. paid abt $150 for a height of 2m and depth of 45 cm....10 years ago hor. prices may have increased now....
  4. Hi Pls share where you got the black and white light. Thanks!
  5. The mobile will be holding my rice cooker, kettle. Got wheels so wont spoil floor tiles. Glass top need not be tampered ba ? I dont know how to insert a file here.... Essentially the mobile is a small letter n written in a squarish way (cross-section). It has no drawers or shelves. just a clean letter 'n'.
  6. sorry to hear this. hope all will turn out well. good luck !
  7. Hi fttw I checked the IKEA bathroom sink and the width was 100cm. However, yours seem shorter as the IKEA standard 100cm has lots more space on the right side of the bowl. Did you cut the sink? What is your dimension now? how much did your contractor charge you for the bottom drawers? Can you upload pictures of the drawers when opened ? Thanks!
  8. Why do you need base for cabinet or washing machine ? Will you really splash water big time to wash kitchen floor? If not, ask the carpenter to sit the bottom run cabinets on legs and create piece of laminated wood to clip on each leg - you save $150 + $130. I was also quoted $180 for 3 feet stainless steel backing. $180 also for glass. Only disadvantage is that glass is thicker at the side as it has to be first mounted on wood. My acid wash is free....which I am sure it's hidden somewhere already. For my kitchen: I do not intend to have top run cabinets on the left side of my kitchen. For bottom run, I was quoted $90 pfr. I have 11 feet, with a total of 8 deep drawers (4 top, 4 bottom), no casement. They will come with fully extendable drawer track but they are wooden drawers, not the BLUM system which I am ok with. Another contractor wanted to charge me $1300 as I wanted only drawers. But this contractor did not charge extra on his pfr even after learning I only wanted drawers. I have a 2 feet tall cabinet on my right side of the kitchen. I was quoted $450. Then I asked for the tall cabinet to come with 4 wooden pull-out trays inbuilt so that I do not spend money to buy stainless steel trays No extra charge for that. I also will have a 4 feet mobile island to increase my work space as I do not intend to store my microwave convection oven, rice cooker, kettle, etc into the tall cabinet. Mobile because it will come with 2 stoppable wheels and 2 free wheels. I can also bring this to the living room if I have guests to put food and drinks. It comes with a glass top. I was quoted $380.
  9. My 5 room is only 120 sqm but yet has 3 bedroom & 1 study - so you can imagine the rooms are small. My hubby calculated the BTU usage per room, ranging from 4,500 to 7,500 for my master bedroom. As such, we are looking to buy DAIKIN non inverter sys 4 with BTU 9000 per blower and compressor at 21000 BTU. we imagine only 2 brooms (maybe sometimes 3) will use aircon at any 1 time. My contractor will get his aircon partner to install at $2500 inclusive gst and bracket. I got a quote from ELECTRONIN at Jln Besar at $2900.....they sell all brands of aircon. Even the lady there does not recommend inverter as she says to change anything in the inverter series of any brand is much more costly. She said not to worry abt the gas phasing out....the industry has been talking abt it for years.
  10. As above....IKEA is selling one at $399 or $299 ! Most Jln Besar shops are selling rounded edge ones. I like to find one that is single bowl around the dimension of 550mm by 470mm. Depth - not too shallow. Hope to get one around $100 For undermount into my solid top. Thanks!
  11. I was quoted $180 for a 1m stainless steel backsplash. Same price for glass. Was told stainless steel is better as it's thinner If you are installing the backsplash from wall to wall, then glass is nicer.
  12. I asked for another quote and there has been no reply the entire week..... aronputt@gmail.com
  13. By the way, what is the company name?
  14. Can you share with me the length of the wall that is undergoing this process and the price quoted to you? Is it contractor or ID ?
  15. Hi Jas Thanks for reply. Which forummer used JS or is it your relative? How was the workmanship?
  16. I saw some forummers also did not hack the wall tiles and simply plaster over it. To hack will cost to 1k ? just wonder if the plaster will peel after a while.....appreciate more sharing from forummers who have done this before....
  17. Hi Appreciate if you could direct me to your Reno T-blog so I can take a look at the carpentry done for your home. Else, pls email the photos to strawberry8_8@hotmail.com Would you recommend JS for carpentry ? Thanks for sharing!
  18. Hi thanks for your reply. I did not find your T-blog. Is it possible for you to email your kitchen photos to me or upload it here ? strawberry8_8@hotmail.com Any regrets not tiling your kitchen wall? Did they really hack some 'holes' into existing wall tiles prior to cement screeding ? I wll prob have a 1-m glass backsplash on the kitchen wall behind the hob and paint the rest of the wall.
  19. As I do not intend to tile kitchen wall and to save costs, also do not intend to hack kitchen wall. As I learn how forummers plaster and paint, my contractor says can do cement screed and paint. Are these 2 processes the same ? Which is better? Even if I don't hack, must contractor still make 'holes' on existing wall tiles so that whatever they put over the existing wall tiles can bite better ? Thanks for your advice.
  20. Hmmmm, I just told me contractor I want to plaster on existing wall tiles (saving on hacking cost and time) and paint with Easy-Wash Nippon. He said can. But this thread seems to say must hack wall tiles before plastering....
  21. I am hoping to get it FOC. Thanks.
  22. and also can save time on your/contractor side. Save on haulage costs as well. Can overlay wall tiles ? If can, it makes the toilet smaller, correct? maybe also 1 less item on your HDB reno permit?
  23. Now the trend is to hide most appliances within kitchen cabinets to achieve the 'clean' look. Can I really hide rice cooker and kettle inside the cabinets? So much steam coming out when in use even though i open the cabinet door during the cooking process Won't it spoil or dull the laminate?
  24. But I still have not rec'd any quote to my email leh.... strawberry8_8@hotmail.com DAIKIN MA64EV1
