hencpu replied to chou_sei's topic in RENOVATION IDEAS: Interior Design Themes, Space Planning
wat makes a place look peranakan is usually the blend of Malay/Colonial interior with Traditional Ming or Chinese furnitures, ornaments & antiques, right? correct me if i'm wrong... typical traditional peranakan houses modern peranakan interior -
thx for the compliment, jessi but those deco mags definitely more pro dun be like tat leh, bro...urs not simple & plain lah, maybe u haven't started decorating it... somemore, my photos are deceiving one...maybe u'll also find it plain when see in person... thx thx, chew@PPLe yeah, in fact Kelvin also helped us to save on quite a few items which further keep the cost down haha, Cantona...yeah, me doing the cleaning work once a week... 5.1 channel audio cables? u mean optical or coaxial cable? there are many places u can get actually, for hi-end ones, u can get from Adelphi... for lower end ones, u can get these from Harvey Norman, Best kinda shops...but avoid Monster Cable, its **** overpriced. but for the high quality cable wthout paying cut throat price, custom make it...go to SLT 3rd level & look for Robert Lee at LHS Electronic. they're specialized in cables. u can ask him whip up Belden or Canare cable for u. thx a lot for the compliment, Ben3555 thx thx, Homeowner

just to add on Kelvin's feedback...we're one of his old customers, had our flat handed back in Nov 2006. like most of the clients here, we're satisfied with his service. in fact many of our guests praised his workmanship & the value of money of my reno. i would be lying if i said tat everything was going smoothly. if any of u follow my reno blog, u will find me vending my anger & frustration halfway thru the reno. he was plagued with personal pbm & hectic schedule, ended up both he & us made several serious mistakes. but in the end, he settled it in a professional way & everyone is satisfied. moreover, some of my fren's IDs will simply heck care or ask for extra $$$ in case u asked for assistance once the flat is handed over, but tat's not the case with Kelvin. u must be wondering why he has a bunch of loyal fans here in Renotalk, yeah? anyway, i've just re-shoot some photos of my house again after my old gallery went down recently. Comtemporary Asian (Japanese) theme contrary to popular belief, this is not "Zen". for true Zen, one must adhere to the strict guidelines on emphasizing space & simplicity, not only bcoz one has some wenge furnitures then it will become Zen... Kelvin gave our 8yo 121sqm 5rm resale flat a total makeover complete photos at my blog: http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?sh...mp;#entry181095 -

hi oonik grl...sorry for the late reply, i haven't log in Renotalk for quite sometimes already anyway, if u still interested to know, i got the bathroom tiles from one the suppliers in Jurong area, my ID took us there. I forgot the name liao, but its really huge warehouse where they have all sorts of tiles on the 1st floor and showrooms on its 2nd floor IIRC, the 600x300 tiles price is $2.50 psf, while the smaller Baliness style tile is $3.50 psf

tat's only me...ehehe...i like PS3 games a lot...but for fun factor & quality times wif wife & family i'd choose Wii. top up a bit lor, include winnings from Toto also yeah, i'm drooling for those PS3 games, too...i think the FFXIII release date still TBA but for now, wii wiill enjoy Wii 1st got many lucky numbers on the box, got System 12 somemore ask him get PS3 lor yeah, read that IBM has started making a cheaper 65nm processor for PS3, so expect further price drop in coming months

well, i'd obviously avoid PSP...unless u always spend a long hours commuting... PS3, not much good games for now, such as GTA, FFXIII, MGS4, RE5, etc...and the price will drop further if u wait a few more mths XBOX360, matured & many good games are coming fast...but frankly, i hate Xbox360 PC can do all ur stuff & play all those superb PC games... i'd pick PC for now & buy PS3 6 mths later

yay...my wife got us a Nintendo Wii !! never had so much fun b4...altho the graphics is **** weak compared to both Xbox 360 & PS3, its fun factor is A+... WAF (Wife Acceptance Factor) is A+ also, which in my case it is my wife who bought it
