  1. Hi ymjp Your home has a very clean and cosy look . nice colour combi too! I am considering faux grass for my balcony too, however my main concern is maintenance. I read that you vacuum the faux grass (I am V lazy, manually vacuuming sounds tough to me), you mentioned can spray water, wont water "hide" under the grass and takes forever to dry? May I know the cost for your size? so i can estimate for mine, thanks!
  2. archenemy, i saw ur fan, the sizes look just nice for the rooms . We have decided not to get fan with light kit as my hb is very against it. hence its just going to be KDK for us. We'll add light pts to the ceiling.
  3. Hi bro, " There is hugger look ceiling fan using downrod look around and u'll be able to find it. " I already look quite hard liao, still nvr see leh... I just saw ur thread, nice fan witht he LED. Is this the fan you referring to? with a downward rod+LED light....the size is too big, but i saw u mentioned they coming out with the 42", this will be perfect. May i know where i can get them? Also what is the optimal height to install ceiling fan.. I mean from the bottom of the fan to the floor. I am installing in my kids room, i worry they stand on bed n jump jump, raise hands can touch the fan
  4. ah this is the ans i'm looking for, so acrylic is "more superior" material..thanks.
  5. Hi bunnymummy, archenemy, bro I googled and found the Fanco FFM300 (aluminum) and FFM400 (acrylic), both 48" and quite similar. However I dont know the difference (function/durability etc) between aluminum and acrylic blades, anyone can share with me?
  6. Hi archenemy, the acrylic blades by fanco too? I'll go google for them, thanks!
  7. Hi Bunnymummy Thanks for bringing my attention to fanco, I'll google right after this, sounds like what I am looking for and good to hear it can fit 2 energy saver bulbs! The brightness is enough for bedroom and study, ooh if I want warm light still suitable as general lighting in kids' room? Thanks!
  8. Hi Bro Fan with LED?! I am keen, where can I find it? I have seen a "bubble fan with LED" however I am not sure of the brightness hence dont dare to try. If i get a hugger type for ceiling hight 3m, is it for sure cant feel the wind? the room is pretty small 3x2.8m. I prefer the look of hugger to longer rod...how?
  9. Hi bro ya, too bad KDK no light kit otherwise a no brainer, i'll just take KDK. this ceiling fan thing is driving me nuts. 48" sounds great, are u refering to elmark+light kit. I used to use elmark hugger+litkit...to me the look is very simple, so i like.. but quality er, abit lousy leh, the sides of the blades rust so easily and the light not very bright too....or u have other brands to reco me? thank you v much
  10. Hi May I know where/what brand I can find ceiling fan with light kit. Size must be smaller than 50" coz the room is small. Thank you!
  11. aaah!! it was there we saw it ...thanks!
  12. May I know where is your TV console from? I find it very familiar however cant recall, its gorgeous!
  13. Hi assirac, Oh i c. btw your floor plan very tiny, cannot see leh . Are you engaging a contractor or ID?
  14. I know of someone who uses Ikea flooring to lay the baywindow, he did a great job . Only draw back is none of the walls are parallel, so the wood may not cover 100% of the baywindow...but i see its very minimal.
  15. Helo, Is ur ID ok you took out quite a few items that dont need his service? I saw from ur floor plan you have Bay windows in MBR, and other 2 bedrooms, what are you planning to do with the bay windows?
  16. I have explored that, my hse is pretty small for family of 5, so we need to do carpentry instead . Hey, I saw ur reno blog, congrats on ur news hse, reno progress seems smooth. Like ur place, I have bay windows...wasting space. What are you going to do with the bay windows? I will post this qn in ur t blog.
  17. mine is ID price, i tot contractor should be cheaper. backsplash? i learned from marshmallow , its the glass that cover the wall adjacent to the study table. Acrylic? ooh good idea...y din i think of it .. thanks, will check out the price.
  18. ya loh, tt's y i seriously cannot decide, coz i dont quite like the "cramp" feeling...like u say storage the more the merrier (i bot storage bed too), but if do liao, cant walk comfortably also no pt. I contemplated to reduce the width, to less then 60cm depth, to 45 - 50cm... cannot hang clothes using hangers right, but then i also dont know have so much clothes to hang??... scratch head.
  19. wah thank u very much for letting me know all these! basically i need at least 2 pcs of glass with holes... and i was quoted $500+ for each piece...so its $1000+ for 2 pcs. if I go to carlton and rough estimate 1 pc $200..2 pc only $400..and if they transport for me $150..its $500+..still save $500!! wah...thank u thank u. yup i also dont dare to carry such big pc of glass... so i need to check if they help me carry to my place. i live on the 5th floor, so lift cant get in (i need to mock up cardboard n try the lift), climb stairs?! hahah
  20. @ archenemy if you got the need and the space for it..why not? afterall its your house..your money..if you feel comfortable..who is to say anything? Peace. That's the problem, after having the wardrobe, I probably have 60cm of walk space between end of bed to wardrobe (bed facing wardrobe), I am not sure if its too narrow for comfort. Also not sure if i m over doing on "storage" ... if over doing on storage then wasting $. But u are right, its up to me who "facing" the wardrobe, I need to decide for myself..thanks.
  21. Even for your size, $27 is reasonable, multiply by 9x, $200+. 5mm is suitable for "topping" table top?
  22. Wah yours is as exp as mine. i was quoted $540 for 9ft by 2ft. Any idea if i dont use glass "backsplash" for study area, what can I use? so exp just for glass. Thanks
  23. wah that is definitely cheaper! Do i need 10mm for study table top? My requirement will be longer then yours but less broad (50mm). Aiyo if cannot carry myself, ask who to carry. Maybe that is y contractors/ID charge much higher, coz they need to charge labour too. Can carlton glass cut "holes" on the glass? My study table has wire hole, so i need the glass top to align the wire hole too Thanks very much for this info!
