After some research at the library, we decided to 1. take out the belcony and make the living room bigger 2. demolish the old kitchen and make the living room even bigger 3. Use the service belcony near to the original kitchen to be the new kitchen 4. Demolish the old maid room and construct a study room out of mainly glass material. That will make the living room even bigger, and give us a sizable study room/guest room at the same time. This is my 2nd time renovating a HDB flat. Last time was my parents' flat and we had very bad experience. This time, I trusted some of the recommendation thread from reno talk and contact a few recommended ID. Due to limited budget, we decided to go with the lowest quotation of all. Since we planned to stay in this house for a very long time, for my wife, new born baby and my parents, we wanted it to be as nice as possible under the budget.
