  1. I think the 2 doors of the MBR will look more harmonized if you switch the way they are opened. The left door should be hinged to the left and the right door to the right. Imagine it to be a grand opening door to a castle.
  2. Some mattresses uses memory foam too. Isn't it?
  3. Very nice laminates for your living room cabinets. How are the doors opened? What's the damage just for this cabinet alone? TIA.
  4. You're welcome. I chose it coz it's near my place. Convenience is important for me. Bringing stuff back and forth.
  5. LOL What does it mean anyway? Can't visualize.
  6. Agreed. I find the hood useful too. Plus, I maintain it regularly. Please get those powerful ones. They are calculated by suction power per square metre. 1000/m2 and above will be good.

    Master Bedroom

If you are changing the location of the MBR door , might as well move it close to the balcony, further up north. More privacy for your bedroom. Install wardrobe all the way to the toilet on your right wall. Install a door or movable wall if you want to conceal the small square next to the toilet door. You can even hack the toilet door and wall altogether for a walk-in wardrobe effect.
  8. Maybe you can put up pics of your current layout, pics of your current home and your furniture and see how we can work from there. Hard to visualize this way. Show us pics of your intended looks too!
  9. I think will need lots of practicing, if you have the time and patience, it's not impossible. Maybe you can try somewhere inconspicuous? I have watched plastering before. You need to get those big wall trowels, 2 of them about A4 sized, big sponges and some wall putty. Google for wall plastering videos. Good luck!
  10. What do you think about 224? A new HDB that I'm getting soon.
  11. Not for TVs definitely. They are kept on the time therefore the display's lifespan are dramatically reduced. Non-electrical items are usually ok for me.
  12. I'm using LG Washer/Dryer. This combination saves space. I use the dryer on continuous wet weather. I use this feature occasionally. The separate dryer is too bulky for me.
  13. Tried Big Orange. Easy and fuss free.
  14. Have anyone have bought from Littlewode before? How's their pricing and service like? Are they able to customize?
  15. Hi Affinity, For their German hydraulic (for lifting bed), they give 5 years warranty. So far the longest warranty that I have seen. They are charging $300 more a king-sized divan, which sounds a little exorbitant. Plus if you change from a 9" thickness to a 13" thickness (that's the max. they say), it's another $200 more. What do you think? The saleslady who serves us is friendly and nice. We went to the Jln Peminpin branch. Which design are you looking at? They have something like this, which we are considering: Are those PVC coverings expensive? Anybody knows what's the pricing like? Affinity, did you try on any mattresses? Intend to buy one? We zoomed in on a Eclipse 7" latex mattress and it costs $2,599. Novena is charging $2,099 plus 2 free Eclipse latex pillow. BTW, they charge another 7% GST too. She say prices are negotiable. Still deciding how much to haggle and will go back again when ready.
  16. How many varieties do you have? Is it possible for you to upload pics? What's your typical price range for king sized storage beds? TIA.
  17. Anyone knows of any good storage divan manufacturer? Preferably someone in Sungei Kadut as it's more convenient. Includes headboard too. If any of you has used their services before, kindly show your pics (if possible) of the inside and outside, and pricing. TIA
  18. Anybody knows about Eclipse and SpringAir mattresses? Anyone bought one before?
  19. Looks like you knocked off a wall to your service balcony, is it? Brighter and airy now? For the study, maybe you can install glass wall with blinds or curtains for privacy?
  20. Vinyl laminates are different from wood laminates. Vinyl are made from synthetic materials. That's why they are soft and flexible to the touch. They will not absorb moisture. They are not slippery so it's good flooring with children and elderly in the house. Wood used for outdoors are Chengai or Balau wood. Pardon me for the spelling, don't know whether correct. Think some people put in the bathroom for a more resort look and feel.
  21. I don't know about the cost, but to be used in a bathroom, it definitely have to be waterproof. The most likely material that I can think of is acrylic or a acrylic/polyester blend. It seemed like a splashback to me.
  22. It's ok. Plans do change. Like us, we planned to get a new place at the beginning of last year, but did not find any to our satisfaction. Then we decide to renovate our own home instead. But the hassle of renovation and inability to come up with a satisfactory layout prompted us to look for another place again. So we bought one at the end of last year after looking at a few units. Now looking at some minor renovations to do. That's life. Make the most of what you can do. You can decorate as you go along.
