I approach one of the workers when they are clearing the rubbish chute at my blk. Then he called his supervisor lor. In actual fact, $10/hr for them is very very high liao... 3 hrs pay is like there 1 week salary bah... Nevertheless, they are humans and I'm happy with the $$ savings so I don't mind as long as I comfortable working with them. Removal inclusive built in cabinets, e.g. kitchen cabinets. They named this job as "Empty House". =D

Hey hey... Manage to grab those foreign workers to assist to empty my house. Their foreman charging me $200 for 6 workers to clear everything in 3hours whereas my ID charging me disposal @ $800. (At times I'm wondering did I shortlist the right ID) Everything includes Bar counter, tv console, kitchen cabinet, full height wardrode, sofa and etc. Later 10am air-con dismantle and at 1pm foreign workers will start work and concurrently, my ID will do a final detail measurement. Nonetheless, before hacking starts, I will snap many pre-reno photos...

Hi wolflet, is you... =) Ya, this is the part I very confuse! When we mention 13A 3-pin, rightfully it uses 13A MCB with 2.5mm. But I dunno why my parent's house, they used 20A MCB "loop" to 3 x 13A 3-pin socket. Have been staying here for 20+yrs and still trip when appliances short circuit. Instant heater 20A MCB 1 to 1, Aircon also 20A MCB 1 to 1, lights whole hse, "hamburger lights" 6A MCB. All use 2.5mm cables. In short, inside their DB, I only see MCCB(40A), ELCB, 6A and 20A MCBs... Tested and approved by HDB authorised electrician.

Bro, before I continue, I really need to thank you for sharing such valueless knowledge. Thanks. I do agree with avoiding heavy duty appliances but my instant heater, HERE stated 3.6kw leh, so need to go for 4mm wire? So in my DB, I only see MCCB(40A), ELCB, 10A MCBs and 20A MCBs.

Anything pertaining to electric is always scary and must always handle with care. Is very nice of bro, bepgof, to share so much knowledge. For my hse, to enage an electrician to do my electrical, it going to cost me $6k, if diy, material abt $800 + 5 days annual leave. So I rather do myself and get my aircon contractor to provide a cert.

So to avoid "heavy fire insurance", better to run 4mm for heater and aircon? Just to confirm, for lightings, let say I got 30 2x18w downlights, I need to use 3 x 10A mcb or 3 x 6A mcb?

Dunno leh... I also quite shock on the instant heater wattage. But my current house is using Champs and happen to know it 3kw. Just wondering, if ceiling fan use 6A, why lights use 10A? For mine, I think incoming is 32A bah, resale and not upgraded.

Paiseh, I referring to MCB. Jus check online, the instant heater i planned to used is 3.6KW so base on calculation, 3600W/230V=15.65A, must use 20A MCB? How about HDB standard MCCB, 30A or 40A? Main incoming wires are 10mm rite?

Accordingly to my ID, they say they don't have an in-house designer so they enage freelancer to draw for them. If I request 3D for bathroom and living, they will charged me $100 per drawing.

HELP HELP HELP!!!!! My reno going to start on very soon and what puzzled me was, I only got my 3D drawing on my kitchen only. Yes! ONLY Kitchen. So I called my ID and ask about the rest like Toilet, Living room and Wardrode. To my ultimate shocked of my life, they told me if the area does not have any caparenty works, no drawings will be provided. When asking about toilet, they told me even they draw out my tiles, we can see the tiles design and we only can see Black and White. I was like COWzzz... The reason why I didn't tender the full height shoe cabinet and TV console caparenty job to them is bcos they are charging me $220/sq ft, which D@MN ex! Far far beyond outside standard market rate. I even ask if we want them to draw out a proposed design on living room and etc, they say they are charging me $100 per drawing... Is there such thing? I thought as long as contact confirm, deopsit pay, they should be liabilty for the house design until handover? Hence seek for comments on this issue. Is it really true that no carpentry = no 3D?
