  1. How many ways are there to mount the glass? So many new things to learn about reno.... You sound like u're familiar with blading. Ha. Yep, but i think yours is more highly priced Since nearer to mrt. Those just beside white sands were going near 600k I think?
  2. Hi rasfene, I think I roughly know what you're suggesting. Thanks for the idea Can suggest to my hubby and contractor..
  3. Wah penthouse. Haha i wish. Unfortunately the ceiling is off limits apparently, cannot hack or anything, only paint :/ Even with ceiling fan, the electrician needs to run the wires to the top, so will definitely see the wires / casing. Hope you got a good quote!
  4. Haha I like the high ceiling too, but can't really put ceiling lights as a result, or the electrical lines will be quite unsightly. And installing false ceilings / L box defeats the purpose of having the high ceiling I thought. Ya but if you've already spent so much installing the parquet, why not just do it all the way to the edge? But that's just me la, coz I think it's a bit wasted then, the money spent on the parquet. Water feature eh. Good idea. U plan to buy those fountain type things? I think I saw them around IMM. Hopefully your contractor gives u a good surprise, not heart attack. Lol.
  5. Lol, all for the enjoyment of your recliner sofas. But I belive that kitchen should be closed off from living area la. Especially if you fry and bbq Just imagine the mopping and cleaning after if it is not closed off. I think open concept only works for ang moh cooking. Haha. My kitchen will still be closed off from the living, just open to the balcony. Provided I don't get tempted when I see pics of ur glass when they're up. Blades are K2 I think. Heh. Hopefully never wasted my money I stay Blk 500+ now.. my BIL's place. Lol.
  6. 1.3k eh.. that's harsh I tore down my lourve window at my balcony / kitchen and thought of doing up a glass panel but thought of the price and decided to leave it empty for now. Haha. Please do take pics when they're up. Ooh tampines is really stuffed with people. It's convenient but no thanks. I'm "afriad" of crowds and the squeeze. Hopefully Pasir Ris won't ever get so crowded as that. Speaking of blades, I hope mine hasn't rusted. Kept them in a relative's place since I'm not staying in my own place now, not nice to bring everything here. Which part you're staying btw?
  7. Mine is 413 Oh friend huh? Well if it's a good friend then I guess still ok, heard too many horror reno stories anyway! Hoping mine continues to go smoothly. Yeah if it's parquet flooring can save you a lot already. My previous owner parquet design is kinda weird, the tiles are bordering it. We though it isn't very matching, hence gotta spend money to laminate. Because replacing the parquet and polishing it probably costs the same or more Haha decking is really nice I think, gives a resort ambience sorta.
  8. Thanks leechaorui, the photos look better than reality actually. I think when it was reno by the first owners must have been nice, but the 2nd owner didn't maintain it really well as in quite dusty.
  9. Lol neighbour, I'm at drive 6 too. Don't tell me you're same block as me. Haha. Probably your contractor thinks no hurry for you since he knows when is your second appointment date. Mind sharing who is your contractor anyway? Seems your place should be in good condition then? Since you won't be changing the floors of the hall, bedrooms etc. Haha I thought of decking too but no $$ le. Costs a lot more than to just tile it.
  10. Woah floor to celing glass? Must have cost quite a bit? Haha yes mozzies aplenty there, I always get bitten if I'm there in the evenings. Cinema is very packed at times! I guess not much other options around here besides tampines which is equally packed. I can't cycle Haha so I only jog when I feel I've lazed around for too long..
  11. I'm waiting for carpentry also. Heh. Glass doors and some false ceilings are up already though. We also usually check out the place probably only once or twice a week. Past 2 weeks hubby is in reservist But at least Henry was contactable by phone. My unit is smack in the middle between the pond and downtown east. Hubby doesn't fancy the pond smell too much he says. Yeah I can't wait for the sports complex and new facilities to be up Now can only jog once in a while around the park. Haha.
  12. Haha will do, still have some pics yet to upload but don't want to picture spam....yet. Lol.
  13. Yeah like pasir ris's open areas and the fact that the beach is nearby. My reno started later than yours, so about 2 weeks behind. So far so good, some minor issues which he says it's not problem rectifying. Looking at the progress of ur place gives me some comfort at least. Haha.
  14. hi tigertgr, just realised we are living in the same area and have the same contractor
  15. Mine is at pasir ris too, near downtown east Yeah for me, I only got drawings when the carpenter came, that was only last week? And my reno has been ongoing since 3-4 weeks already. Guess that's what the premium is for between an ID and contractor. My reno so far so good, it was pretty fast in the beginning, but seems to be slowing down now. Or maybe I'm too anxious. Haha. What are you planning to do in terms of ur reno anyways?
  16. Yep true, so far so good, only minor issues noted. Hope everything else goes well..
  17. Hi Supersimon! Sorry that I couldn't get your Henry instead to do up my place. He emailed me back subsequently to say that he was fully packed that's why.
  18. jtcp82, my renovations have started already actually, just that i'm kinda slow in posting pics up or always forgetting to bring the cam along Where is your place? I think if you're getting a contractor and not an ID, they are unlikely to have any pics for you though. Mine didn't, usually it's just hand drawn on the walls to explain something to me
  19. last of the old picture spam.. Toilets Master Common
