  1. My contractor would do a clean up for me before hand over the house to me.
  2. just wondering how are you going to hide the wires? and the TV is so heavy if the door is opened frequently will it be loosen? I would rather fix the TV on wall to save all the subsequent trouble, you can keep your CDs DVDs in the console.
  3. the first carpenter i engaged also quoted me $22k, i then decided to do away the cabinet in study room and engaged another carpenter then spent only $11k.
  4. got mine from montella too: http://mylittlecasa.blogspot.com/2011/09/montella-wallpaper.html
  5. if you like the colour and design then keep it, if not hack it. If you don't like it you'll feel pain every time you see the floor and very hard to change once you move in. For me I hack all and redo with homogenius tiles.
  6. See picture here. Personally I like the bed and it looks good to me, but i seldom open the storage coz I afraid it'll become loosen. I heard the spring will give some problems. But when i bought the bed, the salesman told me they are the only one give warranty on the spring.
  7. I borrow most of the magazines from national library. You'll be surprised that our library has many selection and free of charge! Try those new and big library!
  8. Balestier road like what other mentioned above, but your contractor should bring you there and the price quoted by him should include tiles cost already. He should tell you which type of tiles you can select and if need to pay extra he should tell you before hand.
  9. My glass door bought through my contractor, I heard is from a glass factory in Marsiling, cost around $600.
  10. My King size storage bed was from maxcoil for about one year, so far no problem. I think they also have many types and price. My single bed (thouse double bed with bedframe) was of lower quality and it gives sound sometimes.
  11. I tot the guy appointed by open net will ask you? I was staying condo so all my wires are concealed, the guy asked me whether i want to hide the wire under my false ceiling but need to pay extra for that, I told him no.
  12. You may see my review of Fanco here: http://mylittlecasa.blogspot.com/2011/09/fanco-ceiling-fan-review.html Regarding the speed, if you want the exact RPM you may refer to their website, to me, the speed is alright, I normally only use level 1, unless hot day I'll use level 2, level 1 is already very strong to me. I don't like standing fan, my old house I was using standing fan, every now and then need to wash, and change when fautly, not lasting, accumulate dust, occupy space. I make sure my new house are all ceiling fan, i have 3 bedroom 51 inch ceiling fan and one 56 inch in living room, no regret, easier to clean and look nicer.
  13. I think cheapest will be LG, around $380, you can search in ebay.com.sg, I think the guy selling does provide local warranty
  14. My review on lightings.com.sg: http://mylittlecasa.blogspot.com/2011/09/down-lights-ceiling-lights-wall-lights.html
  15. You can get an account from Vpost, get the supplier to send to your USA vpost address and from Vpost send to your house in SG.
  16. Yes, you'll need one, it costs around $50 to $80, only those 40 inch above TV comes with bracket, if smaller size you got to buy it yourself. Many ppl selling it and provide installation service, I bought my 40 inch Sony and they sent a guy to mount the TV for me, I called the guy to asked him whether he can mount my 32 inch Sharp at the same time, so I save my transport cost.
  17. I have one but I don't find it better compare to my previous whirlpool
  18. I got mine from Royal Fanco, My fan review here: http://mylittlecasa.blogspot.com/2011/09/fanco-ceiling-fan-review.html Royal Fanco here: http://mylittlecasa.blogspot.com/2010/09/toilet-and-kitchen-accessories-my.html
  19. But Baron got few types of WC, you sure same type? My WC is those new design that look like one piece without the joining at the side le, and the basin also got size mah. I think if prices difference by $10 still ok, no point running here and there waste the transport, and most importantly is the after sales service. I;m satisfied with their after sales service so far
  20. You mean 6 pieces of chair with a table? I bought mine from JB, the dining set there seem mostly with 6 chairs but Singapore ones are generally 4 chairs, if you want 6 chairs in SG got to pay more which will be quite expensive, somemore the dining table is smaller so I find it a bit squeezed.
  21. You may refer to my post here: http://mylittlecasa.blogspot.com/2010/08/buying-lights-from-jb.html
  22. To me Ikea sofa is getting more and more expensive, last year I checked out their leather sofa, a PVC sofa already costs around $1300, I don't think is cheap and I don't recommend to buy with their quality. I've a few Ikea furnitures before and all got problems in the first year. The book shelf and shoes case collapsed easily. My dining table is still there but already repaired more than 3 times. I take good care of all my furnitures, for those rough users, I'm sure it'll be gone in less than a year.
  23. Definitely need to get approval, can be done online, very fast. It'll be tax at your personal tax rate, depending on your income level. e.g. if you're working and your income is within the 8% tax category, your rental income will be taxed at 8%
  24. mine have 4 downlights around the fan and I find them bright enough:
  25. in my previous house, the ex-owner do the L-box and put those old type of light bulb (those long tube type) in the L-box, and have some small lights below the L-box, the cost should not be expensive. But, frankly, i do not like that. Most of the time we just on the tube light, and not on all as want to save electricity. As the light is in the L-box for reflection, the light is not strong enough. As for those small yellow light bulbs around, we didn't on at all as very heaty. I would advise you to be practical and use downlight, which is cheap, save electricity, nice, and better:
