  1. I think it would be quite expensive to relocate (if the wardrobe still survive after taking down from the wall), as no carpenter would want to do this kind of biz. So must as well hack it and do a new one.
  2. the pro of custom made is that you can hide all ur wires in the console, while for ready made you'll see the wires hanging somewhere. It depends on ur preference and how u want your console to match with your house design and furniture setting.
  3. I do not recommend IKEA, those good quality ones are very expensive while those cheap ones are not durable!
  4. Mine was 2mm, for quotation and other related pictures, see here: http://mylittlecasa.blogspot.com/2011/09/my-cheap-quotation-for-cabinet-wardrobe.html One bad point of 2mm laminate is you'll see the black colour layer at the joint of your cabinets, you may refer my blog to see the lines.

  6. It'll not be as thick as those outer surface but will definitely not those IKEA plywood. Normally we won't be particular about it as it is leaning against the wall and you won't feel the thinness, but if you think it is not solid you may want to give a little shake to your cabinets to test out the durability.
  7. I less out the hanging cabinet in my study room and I engaged the carpenter from Msia. I've done my reno last year and moved in for a year. The only problem with them is always late for meeting, lucky i only waited them once, the second time my main contractor waited them for an hour.
  8. Most shops selling cheaper toilet bowl are located at Jalan Besar.
  9. quite troublesome. you can check with the aircon guy who will be doing the trunking for you. For mine the aircon guy said the old trunking is a mess and wanted to charge me more money. At the end I got an experience guy to do without additional cost. If you want the contact you may PM me.
  10. Better buy in SG. E.g. my Rinnai got problem after installation, the Rinnai guy came to service it. If your hood or hob got problem, who is going to come and service?
  11. My fanco fan: Cost: $165 inclusive of energy saving light bulb. My review of the fan: http://mylittlecasa.blogspot.com/2011/09/fanco-ceiling-fan-review.html
  12. My fanco fan: My review of the fan: http://mylittlecasa.blogspot.com/2011/09/fanco-ceiling-fan-review.html
  13. I suppose yours is a condo? For conceal wiring of course will be more ex as need to hack the wall and conceal the wires back. For me my whole house cost around $1700 for the wiring works.
  14. An ID do the design for you, thus their cost will definitely be higher than contractor. I do not like to use ID, not only the cost, I don't like my house look like a show room whereby many items are good to see but not practical and lasting. I also do not recommend hiring different contractor to do different works for you, although you can save cost by doing this, you'll end up exhausted with all the co-ordination work. For me I hire a main contractor, who recommend his friends in the same line for other necessary works. As my main contractor will need to be on site most of the time, he's the one help me to co-ordinate and receive my purchases. I only visited my renovation site 2 times for the whole renovation process, and I got my house nicely renovated in 1 mth. Btw I design my house by copying from magazine here and there and let my contractor see, he help me to amend the design to be more workable.
  15. My review on Rinnai: http://mylittlecasa.blogspot.com/2011/10/rinnai-hob-rb-3va-and-rinnai-hood-rh.html
  16. see my kitchen here: http://mylittlecasa.blogspot.com/2011/11/cost-of-revamping-kitchen-before-and.html Contact can be found here: http://mylittlecasa.blogspot.com/2011/10/finally-revealing-my-overall-renovation.html
  17. My advice is do not use rain shower, if you really wish to have it, you can have one in your MBR. For me I've both rain shower in my common room and MBR, mine is a condo so the water heater was already there (2 water heaters). Comparing to electrical water heater, i prefer the electrical type. Rain shower is good to see to me, but waste water and electricity. When you on your heater, it'll take some time before the water is heat, and after some years, the water heater will give you problem (e.g. water leaking and your ceiling will kena. The worst thing is, all spare parts of rain shower is very expensive, the button (the one converting rain shower to hand held shower and vice versa) spoilt, the repairing cost is more than $100, and the button spoilt just after 3 mths of installing. Till now I've not repaired it.

  19. No, it should not be, my wallpaper was installed for a year and so far no popping out. If it really happened to you, you can buy the glue and glue it back, I see the guy pasting the wallpaper up for me, I don't find it difficult. You can go to those DIY shop like Homefix to buy the glue.
  20. I highly recommend my contractor, see my post here: http://mylittlecasa.blogspot.com/2011/10/finally-revealing-my-overall-renovation.html
  21. I use one main contractor, I find contractor cost cheaper. If you know your design, you can just engage a contractor, the contractor can give you advice on your renovation too. ID would design your house for you, for which you'll pay a premium. For me I prefer contractor than ID, you may refer to my renovation cost and my contractor contact here: http://mylittlecasa.blogspot.com/2011/10/finally-revealing-my-overall-renovation.html
  22. You may try my contractor, see my post here: http://mylittlecasa.blogspot.com/2011/10/finally-revealing-my-overall-renovation.html
