Kitchen Utility Area And finally The Store Haven't took the pics of the place after i got the keys two days ago as it was already dark and we planned not to turn on the water n power till the 5th of June... And Yes.. i've got my keys ;-)

Yupz.. furthermore, i think most of them do the same old designs... what i'm looking at is the price, workmanship and their reliability. Its scary to read our fellow forumers blogs about ID's from ****...

Not yet... still looking around. Will be meeting up with an ID from Citrus Box later though. So far we've met 2 IDs and 1 Contractor :-) Going to limit myself to 6 at most

But then again, it also depends on the distance the pipe has to travel correct? My kitchen is just next to the gas pipe area and the pipe doesn't need to go thru the living room to get to my toilet

How much is the heater? Did you manage to get the promo price? One heater can be used for the two bathroom right?

Any of you know how much should the cost of hacking the Living room + 3 bed rooms cost? Initially i tought of just overlaying the tiles but due to some leakage issue, it gotta be hacked and retiled Looking forward to the replies...

Thanks ya all :-) Will post the pic of the house once i get the key this 25th of May :-) 2 weeks to go . Went to see our first ID or rather the first ID that responded to our queries on Icompare n its from 3D Innovations. I know their reviews are not that good but since they're the first to respond to us, it must mean something Gonna use their quote as a bench mark for the others that we're going to meet. Any IDs around here that you guys are willing to recommend? Best if they have any promo or stuffs

Thank you for the welcome The floor size is 100sqm as mentioned by joseeng above. The house plan is indeed big and nice but there isn't much that can be done to edit the layout :-) Maybe it helps me to save some money from hacking the rooms and stuffs ;-) Hahaha TQ TQ... still thinking of a concept and design though... thank you for the well wishes

I guess it's about time i started a T-Blog to get more tips and recommendations from the Forumers/ Bloggers here Been around for quite awhile and reading thru the forum and looking at the beautiful houses that was renovated. Though this forum is full of ideas and tips, i have yet to find a blogger's house that has the same layout as mine Maybe mine's is unique or it's not liked. Anyway, here my future nest floorplan for your critics and recommendation. At the moment, nothing much has been done as i'm still waiting for HDB to resolve some Crack issues on the flooring of the flat. I have already sent out inquiries to ID's/contractors for quotes and have yet to get any reply so far but since i'm not in a hurry, i'll wait. Looking forward to your replies

You're lucky you have your ID there with you and based on his experience, there is no major repair that needs to be done to the cracks. For my case, i dun need to be an ID/ engineer to know that it is a major issue It's right there for me to see I can't confirm what i need to do for my place till after the outcome by HDB... Right now, i'm busy planning for my wedding so don't really have time to look for an Id yet I'm just reading thru the blogs and looking at the beautiful renovated homes as well as shortlisting the ID's that i plan to go to for the quotations. No plans on what i need to do for my place too

There are also fine cracks on my dining room ceilings and was informed that there is also water leakage at one of the bedrooms which is near the toilet... Have already complain about all these to HDB... waiting for their reply

Hi Samgalz, Been reading thru the forum for awhile looking for solutions to the cracked tiles on the flooring and kinda stumbled upon yours I'm happy for you for being able to go thru your 1st appt in a breeze. I had mine a few weeks back on the 6th of apr and currently waiting for my 2nd appt too :-) Currently i'm looking for renovations ideas from this forum as my unit is in a very odd shape but have yet to start a T-blog yet. Am really looking forward to your renovation journey though and i know how heart aching it is to have cracked tiles on the flooring, especially in the dining area. I have the same problem for my purchased flat as well and its not only at the living room but also at all the 3 bedrooms Worst still, i only know about it after the 2nd appt because my seller's agent tried to hide it from us but we were still able to know about it in the end after our seller tried to get to us via the HDB officer. For the cracked flooring, have your seller reported it to HDB? For my case, there was a leaking issue that occurred during the CNY holidays when they went for their holiday and when they got back, their flat was flooded. Worst still, the neighbour below was also affected as the water from the unit seeped thru the 4 cracks and flooded the unit below as well... by the way, the neighbour also went for holiday and only came back 1 week later to find their whole house flooded and all their stuffs/ furniture and electrical spoiled. It is only after this incident that our seller realized about the severity of the cracks. The owner below even threaten to sue if it occurred again. Maybe you may want to get HDB to check on the structural integrity of the cracks or even with the neighbour below to see if the cracks is serious or not. Mine is definitely serious as the cracks can also be seen at the neighbour's flat below (we went over to check once we know about it). We have complained about it with our HDB officer and is currently waiting for the outcome. I hope it won't delay our completion date as we would really like to start renovating as soon as possible... Maybe some of the "Reno Guru" here can give some opinion on this? By the way, sorry for "hijacking" your thread. I'll create my own soon

Hi all, I just went for my flat's 1st appt and was informed by HDB that there is a major issue with the flat that i am buying. My unit is on the 2nd floor and i have a neighbour living on the first floor below. The major issue is that there is a huge crack on the flooring of my unit and this crack can also be seen from the neighbour's unit below. The seller has informed us that during instances when they wash their flat, the water would seep thru and leaked to the unit below and have received complains from the owner as well. I believe this is what they call a structural damage and i strongly believe this should fall under HDB's responsibility as they are the ones that built the flat. Putting the blamming game aside, i would just like to know how can i go about to repair this? I'm afraid that i i do hack the flooring, the crack might get worse or even bigger affecting the unit below who has already informed us that they will sue us if they are very much affected. Have any of you guys experience this before? Please help. Thank you in advance and Best Regards Whiteoryx
