Water Seepage On My Lower Floor Neighbour Ceiling
ziyter replied to Alysabeth's topic in Home Maintenance & Repairs
hi, I have the same problem in my master bedroon toilet ceiling. Also leaking and HDB investigation shows its above neighbour water proofing wear and tear. HDB send letter to me and neighbour to ask to rectify the problem. Then one day i go meet my neighbour want to discuss. The neighbour to my surprise complain tt my renovation cause her tv to malfunction lar, she seldom use that toilet, house owner is her sister who is overseas and dunnoe when come back, neighbour shld be chinchai dun small thing complain. The husband conclude the conversation with a powerful statement " you wana repair you go ahead and repair la". So hopefully your neighbour is a good neighbour and willing to share cost with you to rectify the issue. Else, I also not sure HDB can help or not. But i research and got to know there is a product called XYPEX treatment, a chemical applied on the ceiling and it will crystalise and fill the ceiling cement and stop the leak and thus no need to hack n'bour toilet tiles. Give HDB a try first and see how it goes. Regards Anthony -
Hi I have similar problem that my master bedroom toilet ceiling leaks at the part above the toilet bowl. Infd HDB alr but n'bour quite hostile and seems unwilling to compromise and resolve together. You mentioned abt XYPEX treatment on the ceiling, what's that? Is that the solution you chose? What's the cost involve? Hope you can advise. Thanks ziyter

Hi, Firstly, I think you are very lucky to met a very good neighbour. I bought a resale flat and just did renovation in March. Contractor found master bedroom toilet ceiling leaking and we reported to HDB. HDB check my unit and also check above floor unit and shown above floor occupant the leak on my side. Per HDB neighbour said they will resolve with us. Last Sat, I went up wanting to discuss to resolve the issue. I was met by hostile reactions from the male and female neighbour who first claim they are not legal owner, sister is legal owner who let them stay and sister is overseas dunnoe when come back. Then female n'bour claimed my renovation caused vibration so great like shaking the block and caused her LCD tv to be damaged. Then she and husband claimed that no HDB officer came to inspect their unit. Then start to say their TV spoilt also neber claim damages from us, we neighbour shld give and take and dun leak water u complain HDB. The icing on the cake came when the male n'bour tells me, "you wana repair, you go ahead and repair urself la" in a hostile and bo chap tone. I did not become hostile throughout the conversations and told em since they said so i verified with HDB. Getting HDB officer in charge is like more diff than calling Radio Station. Finally get in touch with HDB office in charge and ask him to send letter to the legal owner. Can provide more details of the contractor tt did the rectifications? I wonder can they rectify just over on my side. Thanks Regards ziyter

Cheapest Place To Get Your Electronic Goods
ziyter replied to johnson11ng's topic in Electronics & Electricals
Hi, If you are paying by cash, i recommend u to go to Hong Lian Electrical at Alexandra Village. A small neighbourhood shop, but they got most,if not all, the range of models u want.So far, i haben ask a model and they said dun haf. Price confirm cheaper than Audio hse, harvey norman by $100-300 depend on the item. I am not staff of Hong Liang for sure. I bought fr them years ago, and i going to get from them soon. Even my Yamaha AV receiver, its cheaper by $200 compare to HN. But cash payments only no credit card and they deliver. -

Hi Boatman, hahaha ....maybe i guess. Saw a couple sitting near entrance discussing. Anyway they replied me with the quote. Minus 3 item which i can leave out, their 1st quote i feel is consider average. A few item i think over-charged. After my own computation of acceptance price, i think can cut $3-4k. Anyway I started looking for contractor and ID since last Oct, but stop during Dec and Jan due to travel. So far has got 6, ID and one contractor. To my surprise, Contractor can be charging higher. I wana find a reasonable one and start work soon, but not willing to pay excess. thanks -

Hi Honeyclub, I bought a 3rm resale flat in clementi blk 3XX and looking for renovator too. Agreed with your point abt the contractor quote is even higher. My experience is quote from Chew Interior is abt the same as the direct contractor i seek quote. I was totally shocked too. The most classic being direct contractor charge me $200 p.f.r for kitchen cabinet(not inclusive of solid top). Anyway, if u can pm me the Darwin interior guy u sign ur deal with. maybe i would take a look.
