  1. The sale was in Jan.... Anyway I wonder when is the next sale cos I am sourcing for aircon too.
  2. Man! That's quite a steal! Lucky you! Btw, looking at your reno requirement, I think it's gonna cost you more than your budget. But, if you have any lobang or managed to meet your budget with all the works you desired all in, pls do share with me. My requirement is similar to yours and it is already 40k - quoted by my ID!
  3. The purpose of us rewiring is to increase the powerpoints to preferred locations because in my present house, the limited powerpoints really caused us lotsa inconvenience. And we thoght since we are going to stay in the new house for long, we might as well rewire to prevent future headaches... I also wouldnt want a lot of potruding trunking to be visible, so we tot by rewiring, it wud help in concealing. I als understand the cost is abit hefty?
  4. need your opinions on this matter. Thanks.
  5. Thanks Ben. Seems like my block doesnt have the upgraded electrical grid..... Guess we'll have to stick to 3 BR + Study only....and living/dining will hv to be on ceiling fan...
  6. Hey all EA owners, need your advice on aircon. Ideally, I'd like to have all 3 BR and study room plus the living room to be airconditioned. In total there shud be 5 blowers. But is it doable? Are 2 compressors allowed? I dont think there are sys 5 rite? I'm planning to reno in June. Anyone can help?
  7. congratz little fish..... My first appointment is early April.....
  8. Congratz!! Should be feeling pretty excited yea.... All reno done up?
  9. Wow bepgof, your valuation is really high for a 5 rm! I actually want to get an EA unit at bdk north ave 4 too...but the price there abit high..... At last I settle for an EA at bedok reservoir (17yrs estate) for $500 + COV 18k = $518.
  10. Same here....as I read through the posts, feel like banging my head.... just signed OTP last mth for an EA at Bedok for 500k + 18k COV! Sigh....what to do.... We've been looking around for an EA around the estate and most of them were asking COV at least 25k and above. So when we came across this unit that was asking lesser, we settle for this. Also the view was good and unblocked but ultimately still need to reno at least 80% of the house. Just wondering, will the price of EA go up over the years?Hmmmm
  11. care to share the contact of your mover? How's their service overall? any hiccups during the move, ie. broken items, missing stuff, etc? And for your wardrobe, did they manage to assemble back properly?
  12. I have this big wardrobe that i want to bring to my new place, but will have to be dismantled first....cos it cant even go thru the door... Anyone have any contacts for pro movers who know how to dismantle and fix back the wardrobe?
  13. okie....confirm this thread is dead liao...
  14. That's true....we tot of moving to condo or EC....but we found that if they are more or less the same price as an EA, we will have to compromise on the location and the size...and to me, these are 2 important factors. So, in the end....EA is the best option for us...
  15. and now....for the year 2010. anyone around? COV has gone up I think. I paid 18k for an EA (after much bargaining). There are some sellers asking as high as 60-70k!
  16. Not sure if this thread is still alive..... but me moving to EA at Bedok Reservoir. Size is 142 sqf and i paid quite a high price for it: 500k value + 18k. Reno expected abt 40-50k...
  17. Hi there. Kahkahkah

  18. Thank you wolflet for you answer! appreciate it much. now, I hve to think of ways to service 2 mortgage loans. sigh...
  19. Right now, I have my own contractor to do the design/space planning for me, and am waiting for his quotation. I told him as a second timer with him, I expect quality work and of course price must be reasonable. After I get the quotation, I will still source for 2 or 3 more ID/contractor to compare prices. But I think ultimately, I will still hire him as I trust his work. But ultimately, I will still need to go down with him to see the house, to ascertain things like to bring down the built-in wardrobes, to lay wall tiles in the toilets, etc...
  20. But actually you can decline their request of extension right? Why didnt you? I was flatly declined by my buyer to grant me extension! After I tried to negotiate, they agreed to give me extension but they demand a rental of 3k per month! That's daylight robbery! So, might as well forget it. Some people just want to burn bridges....i got nothing to say....
  21. Hello, some qn on movers: 1) Can they give us boxes like 5 months before the move? We are tidying up our house, trying to pack our things..... 2) what is roughly the rate of these movers? 3) if we request some items to be bubble wrapped, will there be extra charges? 4) Can recommend which movers are very pro in dismantling my big wardrobe and assembling it back in my new house? Thanks!
  22. huh? My situation is like this: I have to buy first then sell....this is to allow myself stay in my current place while i renovate the new place. My 2 agents are the ones who recommended me to do so....and when i asked them if its allowed to own 2 hdb flats at one time, they said its ok leh.... how ah??? Stressed liao.....wats the consequences?
  23. Hmmm...I didnt know we can appeal for earlier date....but I think the seller sure dont want, cos he doing contra with his seller....so dun want to make things difficult for them...just because of my wish. THERAT - Thanks for the link. I didnt know we can check this. I thought only agents will be able to know the dates. Stupid of me...
