its better to indicate the size of your flat and your floor plan. Some units have more window areas, so windows will cost more, etc. Bigger units = more stainless steel for piping, etc. just curious, one set of wooden bi-fold costs $1340? sounds expensive to me.

i am the co-owner, baby's hubby. My comments: the standard of painting simply cannot make it, the paint does not stick at all. One last chance for the painters to clear up the mess they did, we shall see. a sloppy, unprofessional bunch of painters trying to pull a fast one on owners. No sealant say got sealant, say will sand the wall prior to painting never do, say professional but never paint properly as there are different degrees of white meaning that some areas paint less than others. A great disappointment, thats all i can say. I least expected someone to screw up on painting. Frustrated that its delaying the rest of the works such as electrical, capentary, etc...

nice way they put the tiles in the common bathroom! its nice.

Hacking of kitchen cabinets is fairly easy. Me and gf removed it ourselves, using a power tool and hammer. We called town council to come and remove the cabinets, bribed the workers with $20 to help us throw it away. Ours was top and bottom cabinets for the whole kitchen with cockroaches running around. Yours look to be much better condition, can DIY to have some fun even!

gimz63251073 replied to sunnytan31's topic in Electronics & Electricals
in case you are still considering, just to let u know that A lighting enterprise is selling the elmark 48 inch (metal blade) at $78. The acrylic blade is at $118. --> i bought this. Baby fan i tried at tunes hotel before. Its quite noisy if u on it to the max. Power wise quite ok, looks wise nice and cute as well. Dun hesitate, get both... -
Its possible to save $ by sourcing for some quotes yourself. Things like windows, doors, electrical, painting etc. Mine is a 3NG, the quotes i got: Painting for 3 room - range from $700 to $800 (whole house, including kitchen walls) Sliding windows for whole house except bedroom (casement) + bi-fold door = $1,100 Solid main door = $450 Bedroom door (hollow) = $210 each (urs is cheaper!) To save more, you may consider having no kitchen wall tiles, or overlaying of tiles instead. Also, its better not to have fridge base if you dun flood ur kitchen while washing. Normally the quote is not comprehensive and can expect it to increase as the works go along...

-
haha, i also saw the $160 somewhere in this forum 1, so i called to ask. Good info must share mah.
-
the quotation does not include the pipe u are talking about, u might want to clarify with your ID. and electrical wiring - HDB standard = ? usually the quote is given by how many lighting point and how many power sockets, etc.

nice grilles! btw, any theme for the house?

Hi hi, ah the fridge to block the entrance of the kitchen from the main door? my parents also nag at me on that. L shape kitchen will somehow cut the kitchen up and would be smaller. But urs is 3 NG right, kitchen very big, so still good! The concealment of hanger would probably not hide the clothes you are hanging there, if any. oh ya, u gonna seal up the kitchen pipes at the corner using tiles? Using clear glass not a very good idea, let people see the untidiness.. haha.. not ideal unless u got all the time to arrange everything neatly. My dream is to use mirror as cabinet front. But too bad im so lazy to clean.

Hi, the fridge is abit far from the sink? wouldn't you need to walk right to the end to prepare the food? Oh yes, designer always don't put window grilles. Lightings sufficient? Might need to add more? Any washer, dryer, dish drainer or place to hang clothes? From the drawing, its simply filling up the space with cabinets, must get yr ID to sort out the details like which cabinet for putting what stuff, etc. Since you are paying them, why not?

http://www.ehow.com/way_5863574_can-tell-c...t-applied_.html Extract: Beaded water indicates your concrete has a sealant applied to it. When it rains, check to see whether or not the water beads where it hits the concrete. You can also pour water onto the concrete in different areas to test this. If the water soaks in, the concrete does not have a sealant. Misconceptions The absence of beaded water or the presence of conditions usually found in unsealed concrete is not a guarantee that someone did not seal your concrete. Using an inadequate sealant can lead to the onset of conditions mirroring those found in unsealed concrete. Also take into consideration the age of the home. Sealant can eventually wear off, and you could need to reapply a new coat of protection.

Got KDK AY11S from Kong Tai (at jurong west) for $160. Looking to get Elmark 48inch LMD15: http://www.elmark.com.sg/html/LMD15.html any lobangs?
-
its better to choose yourself, contractors may not buy the things you like, some may even give u lousy stuff and charge sky high prices. Delivery usually free or u can cash n carry, shop around for leisure, u will realise how many different kinds of toilet bowls, taps, sinks there are!
-
my case was because the previous owner lost the key, so had to get the guys down. They used a drill to drill through the keyhole and took quite a while. After that fixing the lock was done in 5mins. If i shift house next time, i might give it a try! Just for fun.

KDK Baby fan - $160 from Kong Tai. Just got my last wk end

check if your town council got provide a contractor for such services? My area, west coast TC, got a company to change letterbox key at $20.

Hi, you should draw up an electrical plan, where to put all the lighting points and all ur electronic appliances, etc. A detailed plan is a must, your ID should be doing it for you and your selection of lights as well. Lighting is an important part in the design of the house. Im got an electrician to help me rewire the whole house, he gave me a detailed list of stuff to buy. He supply labour, i supply materials. So he charging me for labour only. Will start work in around 2-3wks time, keeping my fingers crossed and busy scouting for materials for the time being.
-
u serious?? i was told by my electrician one DB box costs around $60+ from hardware shops
-
certainly looks expensive. u might want to look for a electrician directly instead of thru a ID. I was told that electricans hold the HDB licence in their own name, so in this case, ID is just a middle man. btw,is your quote backed with a electrical floor plan showing the lighting points and switches? or a rough gauge?
