  1. nice open concept for the study room... must hide the messy wires ya? haha... whats the intended use for the dry kitchen? was that originally the dining area?
  2. the one i see in most people's houses are all high up. (near ceiling). Most hide it on top of the door to make it less obvious. Because its something we rarely touch, so no point having it so low. wow, kitchen coming up;. so good...mine kitchen coming in around the same time as well. oh ya, ur electrician got leave a place for the open net? Its coming to our area in Jun - Aug.
  3. hmm yeah, what a waste. Concrete floor is a beauty, but practical reasons it is stopping us..
  4. your DB box is so low..? hmm... looks clean...all ready for your kitchen cabinets.
  5. so end up buying fans in SG? its better to buy the furniture and stuff ready, everything stand by at the side. Not kiasu at all... the worst thing that could ever happen is your dream sofa is out of stock..
  6. CNS always advertise on classifieds...
  7. nothing much happened...they gonna do the acid wash on wed. Cabinets should be ready either this week or early next week. Can't wait to see the kitchen. Electrical works will be done in early May (hopefully), electrician is busy... Air con guy coming by on Wed to quote and discuss how the piping should run... Still alot of things outstanding... btw lilithfiend, u saw the post regarding someone selling off stainless steel countertop?
  8. woah u gave me a scare...i gave faith coat a call. They said cement area is fine, as long as its not freshly laid, i.e. a few weeks is more than enough.. phew...
  9. https://mytax.iras.gov.sg/ESVWeb/default.as...STListingSearch key in the company name to see if its GST registered. If it is, have to charge GST. If it is not, they cannot charge GST.
  10. uh we dun intend to spray the kitchen base...as we would do the cabinets before spraying paint... as for adhering to cement portion, should not be a problem... u getting faith coat as well?
  11. to have only one toilet bowl in a house was met with some objection from parents...haha... shower screen not up yet, pics later... yesterday went down and spotted patches of air bubbles on our kitchen ceiling, caused by our neighbours above...sianz... have to get the contractors upstairs to do...
  12. U know of the Home survivor 4 - aka "Bai Jia Le" by Bryan Wong and Mark Lee? They had a episode on beach theme. can provide some inspiration. You can find the videos on youtube. colours apart, furniture resembling those of beach bars would complete the look. Interesting and bold concept.
  13. Hihi, yes i did read before somewhere that people go in to buy fans and lights. Warranty is the only issue, but given that kdk is quite reliable, chances are it should be fine. but for most, we would only need 1 or 2 ceiling fans. Yours case of needing 5 fans is really unique...haha. I guess if you buy lights, switches and fans all together, then the trip to Malaysia would be really worth it!
  14. hihi, your trunking connects to the common room by going thru the bottom of the wall instead of the top right? actually does look very thick...hmmm not easy to hide...u going to do anything to it?
  15. oh, thats the only toilet bowl in the common toilet. We sealed the one in the Masterbed room to make way for a shower screen.
  16. the lack of pictures was primarily becos baby wanted to keep the pictures till we are done, then post them up at one go. but im waiting for her to go off and had nothing to do, so i shall post some harmless photos... our one and only toilet bowl: we tore down the old cabinets ourselves: a cockroach nest, we had tons of it in the past: a huge crack in the wall, which Ronald had kindly helped us filled it up, though it wasn't included in the quotation:
  17. haii i was still looking forward to your plan to see if it can be done in a less ugly way...haha no easy way out. have to look ugly! grrr.... so lucky...at least u can save on air con, mine does not even have air con at well....
  18. did they say why? i don't think its a must...its probably a good practice so that the window installers do less works? i may be wrong though... think about it, lets say the house you are living in now is already tiled, and therefore it doesn't make sense to me that you cannot change your windows or window grilles if it is a must that windows must be installed first. better to check with them the reason, or another way is to call other window makers to clarify (since u wld be asking them to quote u as well right?)
  19. Thanks for the mirror contact, but i still trying to find something really cheap. Probably during the IKEA sale... oh, yeah your pipes really dirty!! haha... by the way, are you installing air-con? How would you be running the pipings?
  20. some charges like install WC is high, around $80. Some shops where u get the WC can install for you. Labour costs for plumbing works are so high one? Also, doors for bedroom seems expensive also. But aluminium windows are cheap, same price as i get direct from window supplier. other works like tiling, i didnt do much so cannot comment, give and take a bit, i think price wise is pretty ok.
  21. wow, so serious? i see that the web address is http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?ac...amp;qpid=520819. not www.fengshui.com Its a thread on fengshui, not a fengshui forum. Note: The above is a statement of fact, unlike fengshui.
  22. My humble opinion: Not everything is linked to fengshui, good or bad things can happen to anyone. to say that good fengshui made Person A enjoy good luck might be purely coincidental. Someone who does good all his life may not have a good ending as well, im sure we all know of nice people who have had sad lives or died very early. For all we know, life may be purely random events happening? while you may believe in it, there are others who doesnt even bother about it. My point is, if you believe in it, by all means do what you want. But we should not impose our beliefs on others, which causes relationships to turn bad. Fengshui, i believe was not created to create disharmony. I am like a half believer, i do consult someone to see my fortunes but does not engage a FSM. Weird right...
  23. funny thread. shouldn't it be "at what age did you buy your first property?" if a loan was taken to purchase the flat, it does not belong to you yet.
