  3. ohh the width of the medicine cabinet is 40cm, height not sure...prob around 60cm costs $105 at Poh Joo. We stick those pads at the legs of the table, can drag it around easily without damaging the floor. Normally, only baby and me there, so we sit side by side to eat. If we have guests, will pull it out and put in parallel to the kitchen cabinets. Thanks to you, Samgalz and Pat for the lobang. Called Yuen Tat but no one picked up. Probably out for lunch or wat... Got a quote at $95 before GST and delivery for a 8mm thickness. 6mm thickness maybe less $5 or $10 only. Maybe i asking my friend to help, but the place is in Changi...i a bit pai say also...
  4. Was sourcing for quotations for my table top: Clear tempered glass with polished sides and rounded edges: 1800mm by 850mm by 8mm. Was surprised by the range of quotes given to me. Lowest is from $95. Highest is till $292. Most of them around $200. Anyone knows whats like the market rate? Sometimes too cheap is a bit worrying...
  5. how to tell if a glass is tempered glass: http://www.salt-city.org/showthread.php?t=9542 true?
  6. Hi everyone, i was sourcing for quotations for my table top: Clear tempered glass with polished sides and rounded edges: 1800mm by 850mm by 8mm. Was surprised by the range of quotes given to me. 7. $400 is probably those high end ones? Normal ones around $180 to $200. got mine at $85, installation $80 or $85 cannot remember... its a average one, got rubber lining inside at least. No smell la so far when i keep sniffing around the chute. BUT, i saw the exact same one at Homely, 720 geylang road. Uncle told me $150 include installation and disposal of old chute. Sianz, saw it after i installed!
  8. nice tiles! the crystals in the lights is very high maintenance....have to wipe clean very often...low quality ones will turn yellow very fast also..
  9. its those "5 sets only" kinda deal right? cannot compare mah...you have to cheong to the shop early in the morning...
  10. imho, kitchen being a wet area should be slightly rough. do discuss with your contractor to see if its suitable on kitchen areas. all spray paint will peel, its a matter of time. surely not as lasting as tiles. cement screed will also crack over time. must weigh the pros and cons of each option.
  11. presenting my shiny chute! Painters did not close the chute properly and did not tape up at all! So much for professionalism! End up i have to use turpentine to remove paint while enduring the smell. Finally applied the 3M stainless steel cleaner to clean it up. Works well! So satisfied. lilth, Interior of the bathroom mirror cabinet: Finally, the view of our completed kitchen from the living room: Outstanding works: Install grilles and main gate. Minor touch-ups and area cleaning. So glad its coming to an end!
  12. yeap, we wanted a table around 150cm in length. But too bad, ikea put the 180cm one on sale. Save us the hassle of thinking so much. now the only trouble is sourcing for a clear glass table top as i didn't like the frosted version at ikea. any lobangs anyone? daybed's mattress is actually a normal single bed, can squeese us in, no problems. ehh u mean the bathroom mirror cabinet? its called medicine cabinet? we got it from poh joo @ around $85 i think. can't remember the size le...they have bigger and smaller cabinets as well.
  13. 1m by 1.3m, should be fine i think. can sit comfortbly! would you be building anything to block off the WC? its liek you are relaxing in the tub, look up and see a WC...
  14. ohh kitchen layout need to think, cannot wait le...hahah.. sink in toilet, u have to think where you want to put the sink. not much choices anyway...haha...but the toilet is extremely small, i mean, my parent's 4room toilet is so much bigger lor. Can have many choices of sinks. But 3 roomers like me, can only use a tiny sink. don't forget still got pipes... may hamper the sink's position also. what does the lab sink look like? im curious...heee
  15. Also fixed up the huge chrome dining table (180cm by 85cm). Got it at the ikea sale. coincidentally, baby's got FOC office chairs, also chrome so it "heng heng" matches... haha... Baby's project to change the seat covers to a less obiang colour. my job would be to clean up the chairs and spray lacquer. My project: we got a total of 6 chairs. - 2 chairs to put at dining table for daily use --> keep in chrome colour - 2 chairs to put in living room --> to paint it (colour undecided) - 2 chairs for common room, use as study area chair --> (paint yellow for me, paint pink for baby) Our house's official sofa: Now its being used as our bed. Frame+base @$101 + $30. Managed to fit the $79 ikea mattress into the car. Mattress not thick enough, have to get a cheapo mattress to prop it up... Luckily we bought the frame earlier, ikea don't have it on display anymore! loved the sofa, i cannot wait to see the shock look on our parent's faces when they know we going to use it as a sofa!
  16. curryqueen, yeap its matte. easier to maintain... must get the stainless steel cleaner if you are doing the countertop, makes your job so much easier! lilith, yeap got other angles...but got baby's face inside...so cannot put...haha... Showerscreen was also installed by Ronald's guys, looks ok. Gotta touch up a bit as the plastic strip on the swing door that prevents water leakage does not cover the portion near the kerb, we didn't check that clearly... but overall, it was done up pretty fast and the guys were quite polite. One of the better siliconers that we had so far! the first shower screen of my life,
  17. wow, looks like you had fun shopping!! so fast buy kitchen stuff...already confirmed the kitchen layout? the Cuizino gas hob similar to mine, but mine is $225 with 2 burners. maybe u can bargain more... bathroom stuff better to get later, esp for 3 room toilets...super tiny...measure first then buy better...or buy the smallest available...haha...
  18. hmmm like that why need to go and bargain then hear his grumbles? might as well just get from everjoint since its the same price?
  19. sat and sun was mainly spent cleaning up the place. Had overlooked the fact that Robina needs to saw the laminates and the place was horrendously dirty! Luckily we borrowed a super vaccum from baby's mum. Before and after pic of the chairs: The honorable vacuum cleaner...we would have died without you... Also took off the sticker and cleaned the stainless steel top. Super dirty with lots of sticker marks. Had a hard time cleaning it.. this time round, the 3M stainless steel cleaner worked wonders! So pleased with the result...
  20. think your kitchen will look great! white and grey very complementary, so the gloss burgundy will stand out. for backsplash i think go for colours that complement the grey floor better. Got think of using the stainless steel hairline colour? Might give a stainless steel effect better...heeeee our kitchens are quite similar, being no top cabinets and no tiles. wonder what paint u use? my painter used outdoor paint (white)...duno can last how long also... backsplash, i not sure if i gonna do just the hob area or stretch it all the way...hmmm
  21. some kdk have a "rod", making the fan too low. u see them often in commercial places. thing is, u can buy, electrician can install for you, but you are putting your safety at risk. hdb will so free go and check every house meh? 80% of singaporean live in hdb, they would not have the resources to check. Its like the last thing they would bother with! Reason is no one complain, who will bother? a lot of illegal works are done in hdb, ceiling fan is only one example.
  22. hey strawberry! u installed it already? faster than me...haha im probably going to dama soon to do acrylic top for dining table... so tempted to try the aluminum composite panel as well, wah they gave u A4 size sample...they only give me a tiny piece nia... what colour you chose?
  23. wow...will be hard to clean? can't wait to see the pics...would be very unique!
  24. many models are installed in HDB, just browse thru any t-blogs. what type of illegal fans are you looking at?
  25. i think baby means not to install it until the very end... actually i think u wrap up should be fine. i suspect mine was spoilt because they switch on the vent fan when applying the flakes or primer thats why it got spoilt.
