  1. hmm yeah, no grilles sounds a bit dangerous for corridor units.. hmm...tough choice.. ohhh have fun designing... im lousy at designing so i cannot comment... haha... think el nino's grilles not bad. Can copy and modify... haha..
  2. uh no leh, it was a lady...name is "siew-something" maybe not lady-killer enough...
  3. yeap, finally!! so new only have to go hospital...the poor fan... reno works only left window grilles for living and common room and main door grille. Getting the simplest and plainest design, so no special design or customisation. After that no more works to be done. so glad we finally turned this place into a livable state. Think i should post some before and after pics. I had no idea how the previous tenants lived there... Updates for glassworks order the glass from carlton glass works, i wonder why yuen tat quoted me so high? Glass charge me high, delivery charge me high..maybe don't like my voice? Never liked to bargain so chose carlton glass instead. they advised 10mm thickness for glass top (cost $5 more for a 2mm thickness), so i just went ahead for the kiasu-ness Total cost $100 + $7 (GST) hope to get it by next sat. Intend to self collect, wish me luck!!
  4. wow, so many posts today. whats your ideal mild steel gate design? the windows look great...but put grilles le.. glad that you could have what you dreamt of earlier, im sure when you look at it everyday in future, u will smile. Its always a blessing to be able to get what you want! looks like everything is going rather smoothly, your bad news aren't that bad la.
  5. Managed to find a picture of the kitchen (without our faces inside) Going to load it up with the pots, pans, cutlery that we bought on Saturday. Fan is out of Hospital! YAY! just glad to have it back. Review on Faith Coat spraying: 1. spraying is good for toilet and kitchen floor 2. spraying on walls leave much to be desired. Some patches are not even, i.e. some smoother, some rough. --> we will live with it till it gives us more problems. 3. Spoilt our vent fan and we had to insist that they bring it back to KDK for repair instead of they offering to do it. Not very customer oriented i feel. Had they offered to bring it back, they would have left a much better impression and it would have made me a more satisfied customer. 4. Only plus point is their responsiveness to our complaints. Called me in like 15mins after i complained to the sales guy at expo. Also quite polite and understand instructions. Some workers u have to nag and nag at them then they will get it right. Overall, ok experience.
  6. had you visited Choo Chiang @ Rowell? Outside the shop, i saw a place where they display out the different brands of sockets and switches. But the Rowell had a china guy who is not good at technical knowledge. Dun even know what i want even after i bring down one sample for him! he look and look then ask his colleague what this is... *faint* Luckily the colleague more experienced. Generally Choo Chiang is buy and go, have to know what you are looking for. 2 way switch is much more expensive than 1 way. simply means that you can control the lighting at 2 different points. for example install lighting for staircase, have to use 2 way, one on each end of the staircase. This allows you to on/off the switch from either side.
  7. wow, this would be daring! nowadays some restaurants also go for exposed pipings, very chic. i think the wardrobes in bedrooms are very lasting, my grandma has those in her house as well. quality of stuff then is very good. very good decision to keep! btw, where are some nice vintage places to go to? i only visited www.likethatone.com @ bt batok super nice furniture but very expensive as well.
  8. i see the flat, reminds me of my pre-reno days...haha... major transformation needed...but as with all old flats, water seepage is common...valuehunter and me also facing this issue... looks like a 3i to me...? what areas would you be doing?
  9. maybe you can check with lilithfiend or pinktini, they are doing it as well. i got a hunch that the vent fan they might have lobang for cheaper ones as well.
  10. Hi Curryqueen, in case you are deliberating over the kitchen setup, this is one blog i found which is very detailed and good. http://renovation-greencoal.blogspot.com/2...zones_7269.html Cheers!
  11. Hi Merydith, please see here : http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?s=...st&p=528014 $118 from A Lighting Enterprise. Remote extra $80. not very powerful, but its black for sure.
  12. from your t-blog, seems like it will be beside your basin. splattering of water around basin - not sure if its ok for a washer? Especially electrical stuff, thought its better to steer clear of water?
  13. wonder if we can use acrylic to box up instead. Glue and silicon. might try it later if i have time and $....
  14. nice kitchen and dining area! the dining table looks great! more pics more pics!
  15. oh yeap, have to diy it le, carpenter had forgotten to seal it up and some inside parts of the cabinet. Troublesome to ask them to come back anyway, so we just tie up the loose ends.
  16. ohh four star, i tried many beds at courts but 4 star not comfy leh... shall go by Robinsons to try...hows the pricing? btw, how come get 4 mattress protector?? so many? haha
  17. those at ikea are too thin, as ours is a corridor unit, need thicker ones as we want white blinds. but ikea's prices are nicer...
  18. ID of course will mark up. I got my bi-fold door at $160 (exclude GST) from Unipac aluminium. (window and grilles maker) So after GST is $171.20. think will have cheaper ones elsewhere, if you look hard enough. thing is whether your ID minds u outsourcing, later she give u black face or screw up ur coordination then jialat liao....savings not worth the pain.
  19. the ones i saw definitely stated limited sets only. gain city ones are display sets, a definite no-no. shall keep a look out again on the papers.. PC show coming also!
  20. oh no! i almost fainted at the price. Think i no need source for blinds...can only buy those from spotlight. budget budget!
  21. hihi, we got it from ikea. its quite sturdy. But its chrome la, so may tarnish, i gotta clean and spray varnish it for easier maintenance in future. check from the ikea website under dining tables, page 3. they got 3 sizes.
  22. since we are at it, any contacts for blinds? cheap cheap ones...
  23. wow...mine is 180cm by 90cm, 6mm also. how come she quote me: $105 + $80 delivery + GST!! urs is really cheap!
  24. yuen tat is much cheaper than the other quotes. quoted me $105 but delivery at $80 leh... think i go with another supplier to try. carlton glass: quoted me $95 + $50 delivery. maybe psycho my friend to help me with the delivery... using company van!! wahaha...
  25. wah so cheap!! inclusive of delivery? i thought $105 is a ok price. carrothead again?
