  1. ohh those 3 and a half rooms. i quite like those, but did not find any suitable ones (meaning price too high ) i think i also email the contractor which you did not engage! haha...truly blessing in disguise. have fun in reno!
  2. those pullouts, are the runners smooth? seems quite useful as no need to stretch your hands into the deep cabinets..
  3. hey hows reno going? Ronald doing a good job for you? haha...we gonna Handover and pay him this week.
  4. haha, have to credit baby's dad for the lobang. true that you won't stare at it....maybe after a while you would be immune to it as well? mild gate is $188+$140? I suppose if the absolute amount is not that big, you could actually get what you like. Rather than get one that you don't like, end up have to console yourself everyday.
  5. wow, CNS so popular suddenly? must warn u guys...after they install the door, they spray touch up paint. And they did not put newspaper to protect the flooring, end up my laminated floor got lots of tiny dots of black paint. after that, we had to scrape it off using finger nails. havent scrape finish somemore... Luckily we already put 2 huge cardboard around the window grille areas to protect the flooring. If not i think they will also bo chup and throw stuff on the floor le.
  6. ohh i thought building a bath tub is not allowed? http://www.hdb.gov.sg/fi10/fi10324p.nsf/w/...ow?OpenDocument From HDB: Examples of Renovation Work Not Allowed Hacking and removal of structural members such as reinforced concrete wall, columns, beams, slabs, staircases within maisonette flats, etc. Excessive overloading of the floor slab with a load greater than 150 kg for every metre square of floor area. Plastering of ceilings. Partitioning with combustible or toxic emission materials (e.g. plywood, plastics, asbestos etc.) Raising of floor level exceeding the allowable thickness of 50mm (inclusive of floor tiles) using concrete. Extending floor area by covering over void deck areas (e.g. covering over void deck areas within maisonette flats) Constructing water tank in bathroom except ready-made fibreglass bathtub. if i known it can be done, would have seriously considered it.
  7. what material is the frame made of? there is a steel cleaner which i use, can use to wipe off yellowish stuff off plastics, i.e. switches.
  8. main gate is from CNS. http://cnsmetal.blogspot.com/ There colour/product code is CNS102.
  9. nope, all black frames...must be the lighting.
  10. wow, white cage...u going to paint a wall/ceiling in black right? yesh, must take pictures for us ok...
  11. like this? http://ikeahacker.blogspot.com/2010/06/ina...ence-table.html
  12. Hi curryqueen, nope baby did not use any backing, just sprayed. one can of spray paint costs $3.50. enough to spray 3 layers on bird cage, one ikea stool top and a little of the chrome chairs. got it from those neighbourhood shop selling "everything a house needs" that kinda of shop, hope you know what i mean. use brush is very tiring and takes very long. Somemore have brush marks. Use spray paint better... can admire your art piece earlier... haha.... this weekend, we gonna get lots of spray paint to do up the chair, pallet and luggage! we are both so excited... this stage is like the most fun stage for us!
  13. if yours is not open concept kitchen, simply put a rug there to "cut" the linkage so that its not so obvious that tiles don't align. so tiler got black face?
  14. wow...first time i see house got urinal.... bedroom and living room already hacked? can save some $$. looking forward to the transformation!
  15. ohh roughly same size, but not exactly the same uh? yeah i think if its aligned will look much nicer. better to get him to rectify since only did 25%... sometimes workers just anyhow do, no extra effort in making it nice.
  16. i did my windows from unipac. Had mass emailed the hdb licenced installers at the following rates: casement psf $15 sliding psf $12 bi fold door $160 all before GST. quite well done imho. perhaps the reason is that when they were installing the windows, my wife was scolding the painter and contractors quite fiercely? haha. some pics: Casement sliding:
  17. Bird cage before: Bird cage after spray paint by baby! unpainted chairs chair painted halfway, ran out of paint.
  18. oh bumps as in like this? there is a cheaper option, $188 for hollow wrought iron. for once we did not get the cheapest option!
  19. samgalz yeah, guess that we cannot have everything in life? im contented with the small home i have though... lilithfiend, yeap grilles are all wrought iron, black glossy colour. Think its the most no frills design. Door grilles cost $250, window grilles for living and common room cost $300. No grilles for MBR. main door is new. Nyatoh solid wood, just one smooth piece of wood. They painted black paint over it. Costs $450. Windows (all black frames): - kitchen and living room: clear - MBR and common room: dark tinted only MBR is casement, the rest all sliding. Cost $1,024. think i answered all hor?
  20. wow, scissors grilles are REALLY expensive! still got aluminium and wrought iron hybrid...hmmm can take pic of it if got chance? just curious how it looks..haha Just kpo only since i already "caged" up my house.
  21. 10 ft round table? think cannot go into the lift also...gonna be hard to transport... better to get extendable tables, but would be a waste of space. Maybe get 15 cushions for your friends ba. all sit on the floor...
  22. Got this from my father. He said it belonged to my grandma. Wheels are creaking, got many sticker marks and scratches. Shall try a bold attempt in converting it into a dressing table top for baby. Saw a ikea hack previously. Still thinking of whether to keep it in its old, vintage look or to re-paint it in bold colours (which is irreversible!). http://ikeahacker.blogspot.com/2010/05/vin...ptop-table.html We finally remembered to bring light bulbs for our WIW lights, bought at penang S$48. First lights that we bought for our house because we felt that its cheap. Now its ironical that these are the most expensive lights in our house... Day time: Night:
  23. Complimentary vaccuum cleaner from my dear mama: Grilles are up, i feel safer leaving windows open now. Baby says she feels like its a jail. All horizontal, no design ones. As plain as it can get. One last shot of our grille-less windows. Indeed look better without grilles. Maybe i should get a corner flat next time?
  24. if it can stick, then not stainless steel already leh...
  25. buy too much --> cannot refund buy too little --> can go back to buy buy wrong --> can exchange (not sure if they refund u the diff?). i felt that the Sims Ave one is not very friendly also, best one is at Toh Guan, followed by Rowell. just my personal experience. But since ID buying for you....send him to woodlands to take revenge!! haha...
