  1. lol..the 3D come and mess it up hor....... but my thinking is this........... 1. Always invest in a good set of speakers. And typically speakers sounds better as they aged. AV receiver is cheaper to replace, and typically one may want to replace it as new features/chipset/pricing appear more often. So likely change in system would be AV receiver 2. 3D come, need to have 3D TV too. Now 3D TV too ex. So when it becomes more popular, buy 3D TV and if do not want to change AV receiver, connect 3D blu-ray player direct to TV lah and still have audio to AV receiver.......or change AV receiver....lol Sony PS3 3D implementation...not sure whether they need 1.4 or not leh.....
  2. lol.... CLC This is first time they do a site visit and have a more accurate measurement. There are some additional things and modification need to be done. So need requote Intra They have seen the site before. So their site visit is for the air-con and electrical ppl. There are some modification need to be done. So need to requote. My experience with Intra is that they will take in modifications within the original quote as they quote in one lump sum unless the changes are major. And...............even as we speak.....my wife and I are trying to made as little structural changes as possible considering we might want to sell the place. So we are thinking of having the kids sleeping on bunk beds...........shhhhh....I will probably tell the ID this after we decide which one to take... lol
  3. IMHO and simplistic mind.... 1. There is another thingy that AV receiver do is the video processing for video upscale etc. Thus if u have multiple types of video input sources (component, 720p, analog) and want to upscale to a single HDMI 1080p (or i), the different model may matter. 2. Comparing 707 with 607, then 607 has inferior video upscaling/processing (inferior does not mean bad)... 3. 707 is on par with 608 as far as video processing is concern (base on specs), but the big thingy of 608 is the Audyssey 2EQ thingy. 4. As for Denon 2310 to 1910, difference may not be that much other than the number of inputs and the power. 5. As for compatibility, in my own simplistic mind is that having a more powerful AV to drive the same set of speakers could just mean that u can get the same blast/clarity with lesser volume. lol and normally u will do the calibration once and u can keep it if nothing changes, including ur sitting position and the speakers position.....
  4. lol......what did she say to made u change ur mind?.... mmm...Hommage guy also nice.....but then I had reservation about making orders base on pics.......still debating........
  5. lol...The 2 IDs need a re-quote after doing a site visit to my place on Tuesday........award is delayed..........
  6. Finally have some decision made on other stuff, though have not bought it yet. Home Theatre (Living and MBR) 1. Speakers - Anthony Gallo A'Diva 2. AV receiver - Onkyo 707 or 708 (if it come in on time). MBR Bedframe.. 1. Today saw this one from Courts... 2. The two back rests can be remove. 3. Invert it and put back against the back, it really feel like a sofa and if lie on it, feels like a reclining chair position. Great 4. Can also use it as a leg rest... 5. Cost only $650. If can find in other shops, probably can get it cheaper... Fridge 1. F&P E308 and E373
  7. lol..I heard my name...... still get can get the sound effect if the sofa is right against the wall as the sofa back still has a centre thickness. U can get a good speaker with wide sound spread or if u use a bookshelf type, then need to point the speaker towards the sitting position. In my previous place, I have a couple of Pioneer speakers as my rear as it still can give the effect though not as good as when the rear speakers are behind u. Soundbar in the living room typically does not do well. Most soundbar uses sound reflection to provide the surround effect and like what Angteko say, if the room is not enclosed u may not get the effect well. Go for a true 5.1, u will not regret it. like what Angteko say too, actually if music is the key, a 2.1 system may be good enuff. Most music are delivered via the front and sub unless u are into 5.1 music but then u need to get the proper disc and player...
  8. lol..pics first leh.......... nv mind lah...ask for discount then can fund your MIO mah....lol
  9. the sofa is pretty comfy....and the arm-rest is solid wood, can sit people...lol....not that common over here i think. i think that one still a bit worth it.... The dining tables is less attractive, though not that easy to guage as in Singapore normally smaller size and come with 4 chairs only. If u are refering to the dining chairs back rest not comfy, it is actually. wrap around the body pretty well............and it is heavy...I like...lol
  10. reporting from my Msia furniture viewing trip.... went to "distant" relative furniture place and also go to Molek and see Liang Huat. Saw Miva there but ran out of time. AT distant relative furniture place....mmm Like this sofa. Old fashion but I am a sucker for the large arm rest, and it is sold wood. 2890 ringgit for 3+2....not yet bargain... Saw this 2 set of table. Love the chairs. Solid wood and nice comfy cushion. Like the marble dining table. Rectangle one is 3340 ringgit with 6 chairs.......round one I think is 2999 ringit with 5 chairs too..... Saw this pic of bed frame. Not curve but looks comfy. Think got see in SIn. Anyway this one is 1690 ringgit.. Liang Huat has a good selection too. Did not take photo because was quite tired liao. But in general, it is 6' or longer marble rectangle table with 6 chairs - 6000 to 7000 ringgit 5' round marble table with 6 chairs - 5000 ringgit 4' round marble tanles with 56 chairs - 4000 ringggit. 11. lol...no I was interested in a solid wood table. Then he show me 2 "popular" tables and one of them is Angteko's one.... The chairs u can select from a list......... I saw in the catalog as $859 or something, with 4 chairs. So probably can reduce further.... How?...Msia pricing better?
  12. went down to Hommage in the evening.............nice sales guy...but could not find the bed..... sam mei mei, flip thru the catalog, cannot find it though he did mention he should have one. Anyway he mention price would be around 900 but that is opening price only. come with 4 chairs... but... I saw Angteko dining table in his catalog..lol...
  13. lol..I have not gone down yet........ Sure....one eye on the table........lol...no problem.......
  14. lol....can.............u need to make a move to the East though........
  15. ya!!....where u buy it from?....can post pic?......I missed my bed--------frame...
  16. how about internet?...if u get Starhub, u still have to tap it from a SCV point...
  17. u can get HD too on SCV, just get the HD digital setup box and u will be able to received Mediacorp HD shows
  18. lol...should have cause every HDB flat got antenna points one.........probably they did not wired it up during reno. IMHO,,,should fixed it...cause u will not know when u will need to use the SCV point....and I think the choice should be urs not him since his ppl did not do a good job and did not test it properly. Especially this is ur living room, the MAIN TV watching area....
  19. lol...this buyer wanted a lot of things.......home theatre systems,TVs, all the beds, the fridge, the painting, sofa, dining etc......move in condition for them and i think they like the decor too..... actually work out fine for me, as I need to move into a rental place and no place for all the stuff
  20. lol....I sold my place, along with it goes the bed....
  21. Hi Have u determine whether that is SCV point or TV (antenna) point? I just check with my friend who is staying in CCK, his flat has 2 points, TV and SCV point. If it is a SCV point, a bad termination can affect SCV channel quality. When u subscribe, Starhub will come dowm and measure ur signal quality. If that is main entry SCV point, then ur internet may be affected too. Lol..if it is a TV point, where is ur SCV point?.... could u ask CLC to do the re-wallpaper and if chargeable, ask u electrician to pay
  22. IMHO..........just go for Copper pipes.U are re-doing ur whole piping I assume, so it will be become brand new. The key thing is to get a good contractor. And if u are not concealing it, repairing it is easy. So far, I have not heard of copper pipes leaking due to wear and tear........
  23. nop...no need to...........how long...very long...
  24. no-la....back then melandas has showrooms here.I bought it from their beach rd showroom, plus a 2+1+1 sofa set and a floor standing hanging light. Actually all survived the 13 years...and in good condition. But now it seem melandas do not sell direct here.... The catch is the curved head-board with leather. It provided me a nice sit-on-the-bed back posture, which I normally do when I do my work on my notebook or read....lol...sofa for me is to watch movies only.....
  25. oh ya hor....thanks....can try....
