ricanne replied to erwin123's topic in Home Furnishings
i've seen similar ones at Comfort. check out their website: http://www.comfortfurniture.com.sg/ -
SO PRETTY!! Your 1st EM was in 2006. Today is 2010. So you have had 3 EMs in 4 years? Wow!
-
We got the Legrand. We got some 2-way as well. If you want, i can take a look at the receipt tmr when i go to the new house. The single gang 1-way was $4.00. Homefix was $6.50. Not sure how much the other cheaper shops are selling.

its in the package with C I

hi Ninja I think we have been chopped already. Our quote came with a 'rewiring of whole unit (as per floor plan)', costing 'est. $4055'. I am not sure what the floor plan is. Comparatively, I think you got a better deal.

Hi Pinkydot Not sure if SgBuzz pm-ed you? We did not get a pole system. Sorry, not able to help.

On Saturday afternoon, we headed out to Chee Kong --> closed. Then we tried out Choo Chiang --> closed. All other electrical shops --> closed! After spending 2 hours chasing after shops who have closed for the day, we spotted one just 10 min walk from our new home. As time was running tight with SgBuzz leaving for a 6am flight, and the electricians needing the switches on Tuesday, we bought the switches. The only consolation were (i) cheaper than HomeFix, (ii) i could have ended up wasting more fuel / parking looking for those shops. We spend a total of $124 (w/o GST). The single gang 1-way was selling for $4. The heater $14 (HomeFix was $24). These are the prices which i remembered off the cuff.

the wall is left there for small pots of herbs such as basil, or parsley, oregano, or EVEN chilli padi!! it would be so convenient! actually . . . this would be the ideal compensation for not being able to create more light

Sorry . . wats a negro wengue tile?
-
Nope, we didn't. Having engaged IDs, we thought we would be open to any ideas from them. This 'U' suggestion was by them.

We engaged Soon Seng Transport. They come highly recommended by my brother who has been using them for the last 2 years on a corporate basis. So far, they have not failed my brother, and with me. Ha! They might not come cheap. But they are reputable and no hidden cost. Boxes are free, but comes with a deposit of $2 per box. If you damage them, you gotta forfeit the deposit. I found one bad box in my lot, and they noted it and agreed not to forfeit.

looks like you CAN make it for CNY!!

thanks Angel for the encouragement. Went by just. Upstairs common toilet tiled with wrong floor tiles. The other tiling works all kind of stopped because ran out of tiles. Whole place is like a junk yard. Don't even have space to walk. The hackers hacked the place, but left the debris there. I've confirmed with my movers this morning that we'll move first Friday of Feb. Pray that all will go well. Otherwise, might have to use the unpacked boxes as stools for the CNY guests.

read somewhere that mirrors can be tricky. also read somewhere else (both authors like to oppose the other) that other than scaring ourselves when we see ourselves in the mirrors when we least expect it, there is actually no harm. But then again . . . do we want to take that risk? So, IMHO, better be safe than sorry.

Went to look at the place last night. The windows are up, except for the BestView in the living room. The windows look so different, and the place is so bright now, even at 8.30pm without electrical lighting. Kitchen bases have been erected. The carpenter would be able to make measurements already. Work to be done. 1. Change all windows (starting 6/1) 2. Finish tiling the toilets (after windows are changed) --> hopefully can complete today 3. Construct concrete base in kitchen for cabinets 4. Finish tiling work in kitchen --> hopefully can complete today 5. water proof and build wet wash area in balcony --> hopefully can complete today 6. Cement scree rest of balcony --> hopefully can complete today 7. construct new TV wall with store room extension 8. run air con trunking and piping 9. plaster wall and paint 10. polish and make good upstairs and stairs parquet 11. Install downstairs laminate flooring 12. Install kitchen cabinets, wardrobe, settee 13. complete wiring and install lights and fans 14. Install book shelf, store room display door, and balcony timber overlay 15. Install grilles 16. move from old place to new place 17. allocate space for different items 18. unpack 19. put into place 20. shift things around 21. unpack 22. upack 23. unpack . . .

I have a Bosch 8kg WM too. Doing well for the last 1 year. Even with 8kg load, I am struggling with laundry drying space. Cannot imagine what will happen to my place if my WM is 12kg. My discarded WM from Mayer lasted 8 years though.

Hi! Went to your blog and saw your EA. Huge! You have not started reno, right? Can tell your contractor you buy your own fan or not? And ask if he could have it installed for you? I suppose no harm asking.

cjRedDevil Bro . . . Finished unpacking already, is it? Keep tempting us to hack wall . . . SgBuzz mentioned that my carpenter and ID were talking rather agitatedly during a discussion earlier this afternoon. My kitchen cabinet carpenter is an acquittance of mine. So i think she is on my side la. Her arguments with the ID made sense though. She wanted only 2 tiles to be in between the top and bottom cabinets so that only one line is visible. However, the tilers have already tiled 3 tiles, making 2 lines visible. Aesthetically not so pleasing to see 2 lines. Single-line won the battle! Would have loved for her to do ALL my carpentry work. But we couldn't really afford her prices. Taking a break now. . . I am so pleased with myself Looking at moving only in early Feb, but i have already packed 57 boxes worth of . . . stuff. So far, SgBuzz was only responsible for 'keep', 'throw', 'i dunno'. I am taking a break first
