  1. My DIY garden wall on my patio outside my bedroom
  2. White or coloured rice paper meant for Japanese lanterns will be ideal Can buy from flower, gift or book shops I have done it myself and the results is fantastic, subdued lighting at a low cost.
  3. Very very expensive and proud too.
  4. I once saw a shop that has got thin fibre glass "cement look" tiles on its walls. When I asked the sales person, where they bought it or the name of the contractor, she said that she has no idea as the boss arranged it.So sad.
  5. You did not mention the material of the ceiling. Is it concrete or plaster board? What is the size and depth of the hole?
  6. Absolut Vodka second skin cover for sale (Snowflake)at $25 Contact 96332101
  7. Anyone interested in starting an interest group for residents?
  8. They now have the same design wall piece in fibre lass and coated in sand stone dust. There are other designs too, even with holes or water feature.Looks quite authentic and light enough to DIY. Simply use a masonry drill to make hole for raw plug and insert 11/2 in screws to hang. Stability can be enhanced if Maxbond or silicon is spread on the back.
  9. Sorry for the late reply as I was kept pretty busy with other DIY projects at home. I cannot help you to build your water feature as I am not clear about your requirements. I made the frog spouting water myself. I bought the frog at a curio shop(available at bigger aquarium and water feature shops too) As it is hollow, I used a masonry drill to make two holes(one in the mouth and one in the base) I inserted a hose with a soft metal wire and attached one end to a water pump and submerge in the water. Viola, you have a frog spouting water

Can get white angle bar, but it take a lot of hunting around. Since it is the store room, buy white paint in spray can or brush application and paint it white
  11. You guys are all so lucky compared to me. I live in a ground floor apartment and my neighbour and I share a comman patio except for a solid brick/concrete divider of about 5 feet high spaarating us. We both have identical awnings made from acrylic due to uniformity as per the MCST rule for approval. They have a hugh alter painted bright red right next to my wall and my friends always ask me why I am living next to a temple(as a joke) Not only do I suffer from joss stick smoke and endless MP3 chanting 24/7, the owner smoke at his patio whenever he is at home. The frequency is like every half an hour, one stick. I wanted to put up a rigid wall but failed to get permission from the MCST, so now I have bamboo chick at least blocking out some of the smoke. 2nd Hand smoke Kills. Any advice rom fellow members
  12. Where did u get the led lights and transformer from and how much are they? thanks The lights and transformer can be bought at Sim Lim Towers. Please try and get prices from different shops. Some shops are 'Buaya Besar' I tried to get a transformer, a control and a flashing bulb from a shop on the third floor a month ago, and it cost me a bomb. When I asked him for such a set up, he said $35 to which I think as resonable, but when he handed the finished produt to me, he asked for $60 claiming the rest was for labour, soldering and wiring. I did not want it, but he said if I do not want it, I still got to pay or his labour and wiring to uninstall the set up. Never buy rom SLT unless you are desperate and know the price.
  13. I have a problem with my air cond and really cannot decide on what directions to take. My basic concern is cost and value My problem I have a condenser unit mounted on my window ledge with the appropriate brackets and power outlets. Inside the condenser is two compressors serving a 16,000 and 9,000 BTU blower units. The units services my hall and dining room respectively. Recently my 16,000 BTU unit that services the hall went dead, wherelse the 9,000 BTU unit still works fine. On a trouble shooting exercise, the technician found out that the PCB board on the bigger unit has gone busted and needed a replacement. Being an old unit ,Sanyo was not able to supply this particular part.(Cost >$180) My only hope was to salvage or buy from some second hand air cond dealers this particular PCB board at a fraction of the new price. During this transitional period, the technician have kindly conected my PCB wires directly thus making the air workable. albeit that the switching off and on is from the circuit board instead of the remote control or on the blower itself. His advice is not to change the whole conderser and ther 2 blowers right away as the air cond is still working perfectly well. The cost to replace will be about $2,600 as they can re-use the existing, bracket, pipes and hoses which is concealed in the wall. If you were me, what directions would you take?
  14. Try the bigger hardware shops that sells tools to garages.
  15. Using self adhesive to paste brick design wallpaper
  16. Thanks for the report on bad vendors. We should not support them.
  17. Tearing down the old wallpaper is not a problem, but the things is you need to know what adhesve was used during the installation. Normally, the trouble is removing the adhesiver and paper residue left on the wall. Regardless if you want to wallpaer or paint over them, you need to do some preparation work on the wall. Adhesive and paper bits left behind will look unsightly whether you paste over or paint over.
  18. I converted my spare bathroom into a walk in wardrobe. First I got a plumber to remove the basin, the shower heads, taps and last of all the WC. I had to redo the whole floor with laminated wood strips. I got the carpenter to make a L shape wall to wall cupboards to hand clothes. The top half of the cupboards is to hand clothes with some shelves for folded T Shirts, Shorts and plenty of drawers for undies, lingeries, and nick nacks. Two sliding doors of the cupboards are mounted with full length mirrors. Made a false ceiling to conceal down lights and conices to hide long fluorescent tubes along the sides. Have a large shaggy carpet in the centre of the room alongside the cupboards
