hey this is such a coincidence! last night i went to check my place and the same thing happened! worker didn't turn off tap completely and water had overflown out onto the corridor! wow..so weird that it happened to both of us on the same night...
-
maybe can use some sort of a privacy film, those that allows u to see outside but cannot see inside...! hahaha might make you paranoid though..
-
ok thanks, had a look thru their site but don't look too suitable..have to find other options then..
-
wow, congrats on the completion of reno! your house already looks well lived in... btw, love the window next to the tub in your bathroom..if only we could all have that amount of natural light in our bathrooms.. sigh.. congrats anyway!
-
hey zelly, you mentioned most of your furniture are custom made. where do you go to do this? any contacts for natural wood dining table?
-
think $105 is a good price locally..cos i purchased it online from china, so its definitely cheaper. don't worry, you're not a carrothead lah..lol. i purchased quite a lot of stuff, so do a group delivery..after adding shipping, its still cheaper..but of course there's risk and longer waiting time lor. can try ikea. will be getting some from there.

after i compiled the list, haven't been referring to it as much as i thought i would! hahaha...useless information gathering.. i bought mine for about SGD55 online..
-
wah sammy, don't say until like that mah! haha...just helping gimz out here..i actually have a list of reno contacts with all these companies so its no issue to copy & paste them here. i saw the medicine cabinets at gr link liao. but doesn't matter, already bought mine from china. sorry to say but the ones here are way overpriced.. oh yours is 40*60? then it's the same size as mine lor! but looks smaller than i expected... i think the thicker the glass the better. $95 looks like a good price..which co is this from?

Post War Sit 3-rm Flat At Moh Guan Terrace
lilithfiend replied to MohGuan's topic in Reno t-Blog Chat
those vertical blinds are nice! but these can be quite a headache to clean yes? i used to have to vacuum row by row to get the dust off... -
so you're placing the ceiling fan light above dining table. then what about your sofa/tv area? any more ceiling space for light? if have, are you putting any there? can consider using track lights or hanging lights if you have space..
-
yep, that's the idea i suppose..no choice since the space is really too small! we're building a wall between the tub and the wc mah...it's like in the picture i posted..so we won't be able to see the WC while in the tub and vice versa.. yea can fix on glass panel, that seems to be the standard installation method. B&E is applying the permit for this..check with your ID la if you're keen..

yep, those mirror cabinets are called medicine cabinets. i'll be getting one for our bath as well. but think might be bigger than yours at 40x60cm..? is the dining table going to be permanently placed there? if it is, how do you all plan to sit since there is a drop-down to the kitchen? for your glass top, you may want to go to those glass makers and get them to cut to your size for you. Here are a few cos I've previously saved: Yuen Tat Glass Tel: 6368 9371 (apparently a 150x90cm 6mm glass only costs about a hundred bucks) Sun Sun Glass Tel: 6283 3126 Siatyun Safety Glass Pte Ltd Tel: 6744 1277 i think those 400 bucks ones are the maxden airtight chutes which guarantees blocking out of roaches. ossify almost installed one.

good morning! and welcome to RT, fellow 3-rmer! any pics of the flat?
-
apparently, that website was set up by one of their customers! jasmine say she also had no idea the customer was going to set up a website for them..lol..
-
are you putting any lights for your dining area then (e.g. above dining table)? that should contribute some light to your LVR.. definitely measure then buy! i think that holds true for all homes, not only 3rm..
-
very long dining table u've got there! lookin forward to see the newly upholstered dining chairs.. btw, how much did u pay for your medicine cabinet and how big is it ah? your daybed looks a lil narrow, can sleep two?

Some Updates. After our final reno permit was approved, we faced the problem of a much smaller bathtub than expected. The problem was intensified with the pipes that were in the way. Hb worked on several ideas and we were almost resigned to having an ultra-small 1.3m tub installed. This would mean that we would have to bend our knees when we use the tub. Very pathetic. Thankfully, hb managed to come up with a workable idea which although does not give us more length, it gives us more width so we can lie diagonally. Commercially available tubs are usually only 700mm in width so we will be getting B&E to custom build one instead. Our finalized bathroom layout: And what it will look like: We will be boxing up the pipes behind the new wall and using the space between the pipes for an open-shelf cabinet. Now waiting for B&E to come back with pricing for the new works. We were told that they would be doing the plumbing and some more wet works this week.

yes indeed, think white will go well. so far those i've seen are all white. though the s/steel one will do well if you have an industrial chic theme going on. k, i officially have fridge envy!!
-
so which did u guys pick - white or s/steel? what i love about their fridges is that they're so sleek! i cannot resist their logo on the front of the fridge..lol..
-
sorry missed out on your question..i dunno if its any good since i've never had one before! on kdk's website, it states that the sound generated is at about 42-45db, equivalent to a refrigerator's hum. Costs $118 before GST. hey blueocean, yes have seen electric humidifiers but didn't consider them cos we wanted something in the bathroom to "push" out the moisture & foul air. What are the Benefits of a Bathroom Ventilation Fan? Normal household activities such as cooking and bathing can significantly raise your indoor humidity levels. In fact, studies have shown that the typical family of four converts three gallons of water into water vapor every day, and it only requires four to six pints of water to raise the indoor relatively humidity of a 1,000 square foot home from 40 to 60 percent. In turn, this excess moisture is a complex problem that can cause a number of undesirable conditions such as the following: Mold or mildew growth on walls and ceilingsDamp spots on walls and ceilingsCondensation, ice, or frost on the inside of windowsPeeling paintSweating water pipesTherefore, proper ventilation protects your home, and when it comes to your bathroom, ventilation is especially important due to excess moisture. Furthermore, because bathroom exhaust fans assist in the prevention of mildew and mold growth, they can alleviate or even prevent allergic reactions and asthma. Source
