  1. According to the tool, you will require a 23k BTU for a space that is 700-1000 sq ft! But since you already bought yours i suppose you shouldn't be thinking about it anymore right?
  2. Here are the kitchen 3Ds: Minor details that were not right: - Actual laminate and countertop selection not reflected - Cabinet left of hob is wider than required - Oven not added - Actual hood design not triangular - Actual hob design is black, not stainless steel - Actual fridge is side-by-side - Service yard area not drawn in Need to tell my PM about the above and get them to change. Not sure if they are supposed to give us technical drawings with proper dimensions as well? Someone advise please?
  3. haha i doubt you'll have trouble finding people who are shopaholics, esp in singapore. sam: didn't notice u getting ur keys on Monday! you must be so excited hor!! congrats congrats...
  4. ah_dun, we got the same a/c! i also got daikin sys 4 non-inverter. how much did you pay for yours? reuben, 26k BTU for living is massive leh! you can try using this tool to calculate the amount of BTU thats appropriate for your space. if you get too high BTU, you will be paying thru your nose for the electrical consumption. and if you intend to get daikin non-inverter, they only have one kind of configuration that is 3x9k + 1x18k (if i recall correctly). but cannot on living + room at the same time, won't be cold. HTH!
  5. 1 month.. heng i never take GC. no one was around when they installed the A/C? we intend to be there when they run the trunking, don't want them to anyhow run all over the place.. thanks, we're also (getting) very excited! your place looks like its almost done liao..congrats in advance
  6. hey babe, noticed your have a glass door with wooden frame above. mind sharing how much you paid for this? btw, jealous of your ample storage!!
  7. wat did you all do with your walls? so plumbers coming to install wc, sink, taps etc? but water piping done liao right? after grilles & laminate, any works left? when can see the s/steel counter?
  8. wow your colour selections are pretty industrial eh? what book is this from anyway?
  9. yep, they should be starting hacking today.. We compared prices with Hong Tar, Gain City, Best Tech, Natural Cool. Creation gave us the best deal for the aircon that we bought, might be different for different brands/configuration lah. Also, when we ordered, we were given a promo deal which came with FOC 1 time servicing and a $200 in-house voucher that can be used for servicing or to buy their ceiling fans (limited range though). We plan to use for future servicing after the first year. Can try give them a call lor..they're not as jam-packed as GC so appointments no need to wait so long. I see Gimz & Baby having to wait so many weeks!
  10. thanks! its never too late for congrats.. Some Updates. Hacking is supposed to start today. Walls left to hack are: - Wall dividing kitchen & hall - Walls in bathroom - New entryway in common room Received our kitchen drawings yesterday..got some minor errors here and there. think the draftsman did it in a hurry or maybe like hb said, information overload.. Have just gotten Creation Air to come down on 8 June to run the aircon trunking. PM actually asked us to fix the appointment next week, but Creation's booked till 8 June. Time to get crackin'! Electrician, plasterer all about to be activated shortly..
  11. thanks ladies!! i'm so touched by all of your well wishes *teary*
  12. thanks guys! gimz, i already put up some pics of the cement floors liao, did you manage to catch those? now everything is covered up 'cept for the service yard so can't really take another pics of the floors till after reno's done. will be meeting our PM tonight to run thru new bathroom plan..
  13. yea no choice! very hard to find nice dining tables in the market that don't cost a bomb. 62cm is a little narrower than we'd like but because IKEA worktops are sized that way, we can't really do much about it short of going to a wood shop to buy a larger table top.. sure thing..look forward to seeing yours as well..!
  14. thanks much for the detailed explanation! i was facing the exact problem you mentioned - the width of the underframe being 62cm and the table top also being 62cm. ok goody, i'll most likely get my contractor to modify the legs like you've illustrated. and btw, i'm also eyeing that same shade of oak from ikea. thanks again!
  15. thanks! actually, this is the second time only lah. we appealed the rejection mah. heng ah, no need to steer clear from your blog liao..haha.. thanks zelly! yes we're looking forward to getting a move on. last weekend, we visited the house and felt so sad that reno works had been stalled for so long. finally we can get back to work!
  16. thanks both!! coldflamez, this layout was originally rejected by HDB. We appealed based on what you just mentioned - that the bathtub is within existing shower area and this morning, it was approved, marking the end of a month wait!
  17. oops. i thought u are! sorry paiseh..i'm becoming the next england hahaha..
  18. thanks ladies!! a long wait indeed. i'm still very buzzed up from the news.. this is the approved layout:
  19. i used to have that pitcher too..from ikea though..
  20. APPROVED!! Yep, HDB has finally given their approval! Yay yay..I'm so happy..
  21. thanks both for your advice! much appreciated.. sounds like ikea is (once again) an option.. thirdrock, you said your study table was made using their solid wood oak countertop - this is the worktop range for the kitchen that we can customize dimensions right? cos my dimensions are slightly smaller than the ones readily available in the market so will need to customize. if it is, then i suppose this (kitchen range worktop + u-shaped underframe for legs) would be the best route for me to get the table we want.
  22. yep, saw it on their website too. went down to have a look but noticed the max. load the legs can tahan is only 50kg. solid piece of wood will weigh close to that i think, kinda dangerous..
  23. was about to ask why u not using citygas then i remembered..haha. can try tan brothers. used to use them, very fast and deliver all over. http://www.tanbros.com
  24. don't wanna debate this to the ground. think this topic has been done to death. but something for you both to think about: do u think mourinho would get us to 7th place with the amount of money Rafa has had to splash - which is a total of £285.6m whilst managing the club? oops! sorry didn't know u were looking for this mah. u can always have it shipped in to SG. might be available at Homefix, not sure thou..
  25. hey babe, its www.simplehuman.com. Be prepared to want.
