Actually, you should have done more research rather than worry here and there after the reno.. not all unit need fire rated door.. think if its 3m from lift landing, you dont need to put. ur 38k should be for lots of carpentary , contract item pricing should not be higher than ID.. compare apple to apple.. you could have been few $k worst off if this is an ID.. so u save a few k..

We have revised the design.. but no point updating them since reno has started.. will upload the finish product.. as for the Tv cabinet... i leave it all to my ID..

washer and dryer is 1.5k plus.. oven is 780..

So fencer is holding more than 10% ? the window is not part of the 38K? the stress throughout the whole legal process is the main issue here.. dont listen to those gu hong talk and challenge legal etc.. they can talk because its not happening to them and talking is so easy.. why dont u tell us how much are u holding back? A letter of demand is cheap... but if they proceed with the writ of summons, then ur legal cost will add up to a few thousands.

Maylove u want to sponsor Fencer the lawyer fee? Fencer, going to the extend of using legal channel to get $$ back is quite serious already. Is there anything that you could have missed out during the whole course of the reno? I'm sure you did a lot of research and also visit some of his work before engaing him. Is there any miscom? I see... no offence... just curious. Communication is very impt in renovation especially when there are so many calls and sms each day. My ID removed our wrought iron gate from our reno plan.. luckily we saw it and have it reinstated. Just hope things can get sorted out here.
