Thanks! Just dropped by at the new house after work just now. The painting job is almost done. Some workers are cleaning up and have removed the protective cover for the marble flooring and staircase (finally I get to see the flooring!). Most of the mess have been cleaned up.

Reno pics (fast forward)! Kitchen wall hacked Precious marble flooring and parquet staircase well-protected Very happy with my ID for that! Range of tiles that we've selected. Basically all white white (hopefully the house will look more spacious, especially the kitchen and toilets)

Ya..keeping the balcony tiles coz the previous owner apparently did the balcony only a year ago (i suspect it's to fetch a higher resale price). Other than the balcony, the marble flooring for the 1st level and the staircase, everything else had to be changed (heart pain coz at first look i tot can save a bit on reno after paying so much for the COV)

Thanks for the welcome Took quite a while to upload the pictures (Tried imageshack, picasa etc and at last settled for Photobucket. Haha...I'm really bad with IT stuff) Here's my floorplan:

I've finally summed up the courage to post my own reno journey, after months of reading countless valuable Renotalk forum topics and T-blogs. Thanks Guys! To shorten a long story..I'll be the legal owner of my EM tomorrow (my 2nd appointment is tomorrow!). However, reno work had started 1 week after the 1st appointment. The new owners of my current jumbo flat are asking us to move out earlier so that they can do a little bit of reno themselves. Hopefully our reno process will be smooth like many others at Renotalk and hoping that others will gain from this T-blog too

Idzign

Hi, I am thinking of engaging iDzign for my reno. I'm very happy with the ID and his attention to details and our needs. To those who have used iDzign, how's the workmanship? Thanks! -
Hi! I had the same problem 3 years ago when I first moved into my current flat. There were water droplets (apparently from condensation) on the inner walls of the wooden cabinet and around the base of my SS sink. I wiped the affected area dry for a few days plus aired it but what really did the trick (I think) was the Thirsty Hippo which I placed in the cabinet. I no longer face the problem from then on. Hope this works!

Poll For Cov Paid (2009)
Ummee replied to cacabi111's topic in HDB New/Resale Flats, Executive Condominiums
I will be paying 30K for my EM (Yishun). Low floor but well-kept and certain areas like balcony and stairs just renovated. Marble flooring. I think 30K is very high but no choice. The other EM owners were asking 40-60K. Besides, this EM is near to MRT and amenities. -

Hi. Wish to share my bad experience with my mover about 2 years ago. I engaged Tiong Lim Transportation co. for their service but really regretted it. The workers did not take care of the things when loading, unloading etc. so by the time my furniture reached my new place, we noticed scratches on our Scanteak furniture. When we asked for compensation, the owner just brushed it off. Worse, after they left, we noticed that they had used red marker to hide scratches made on our dark brown bookcases. They didn't bother to answer our calls. Sharing this in the hope that nobody else will suffer such bad experience. Will be moving house again next year. Wish me luck!!
