Samgalz, u mind sharing more abt starhub and what u love abt it?? I had starhub scv few yrs back, but only my sis love it, as they watch alot of taiwan variety show and i only watch sports. haha

Yes, really very pleased with their work rate so far. Am also very pleased with the tiling workmanship. So far so good. Hopefully this wk will have some carpentery up, and aircon up as well. Then can start painting le. I dont even dare to show the pic of black kitchen to my mum, she sure nag nag nag...haha Hmm..i cant comment abt the darkness wor, but Id told me it will not, as my cabinet will be white, and the black is glossy, so it will actually reflect lights. I only have a ceiling light and 2 T5 under cabinet, not many lightings. Praying hard it will be ok. keke

hmm..becoz I have not used starhub before, and from what I knew, starhub internet is actually shared bandwidth. That means if your living area has alot of pple accessing internet at the same time, your connection will be slow. El nino, have u had any bad experience with starhub internet? Whereas, singnet, ADSl, is supposed to be dedicated bandwidth. But the recent issue in the newspaper abt mio being affected, it seems like they are shared bandwidth instead of dedicated, thats y i abit hold back using singnet, yet also abit worried abt starhub performance.

Wah..really big piece of wall hacked!! What is your plan for that? Really excited to see the outcome. Any 3D to share??

Wow, this is an exp investment. U sure u will use the tub? The reason I said this is becoz, my current parent's house also has tub. But we uses it like at the beginning only when everyone is so excited abt it when it is new. But after sometimes, it became useless, and we find it a burden to stand in the tub to bath. Especially, for my dad who is getting old, sometimes worried that he might slip when using the tub. A jacuzzi might be different story, haha, coz i did not try jacuzzi at home yet. Cant comment abt the usage lifespan.

Boonlay, your reno started already right?? How is it? Any update?? Mine is faster than I expected, and could be ready somewhere in Apr! -
The reason why i say after 3mths is becoz, i always see that they give mio tv free for 3 mths when sign up internet. So i guess only need to add the world cup or sports channel. Had not ask abt the details, so not sure the duration of contract for sports channel. Dont really watch other channel of scv or mio, so once/twice a wk to catch soccer and pay for the service abit not worth it. Either that or during world cup selective good match, go out and watch with friends together with drinks and peanut also good! I read abt the cross carry thingy too, so thought doesnt matter which to take, it is going to be effective soon isn't it? The matter most now is stability of internet and monthly subscription fee. I'm using singtel now, and internet some time will get cut off and reconnect. So wonder how Starhub is. And starhub home telephone line is cheaper than singtel.
-
Btw, I called those recommended electronic shops for quote on my required electronic stuff, like everjoint, goh ah bee...etc total 5 of them. They price are not actually cheaper compared to those big retail shop. Quite disappointed. And most of them dont carry philips TV, wonder why. The only thing cheap is washing machine, was quoted 900+, close to 1k, but retail are selling around 1.1k.
-
Downlight from JB as well. Kitchen ceiling light from JB. All are cheap by at least 50% compared to SG and comes with GE light bulb!
-
Stuff bought over the wkend. Onkyo 5.1 sound system Elmark 911 ceiling fan bought in JB. Super cheap!
-
The MBR tap looks exp, coz it came with a bag in the box. Seriously, do they need to do good packaging for accesories? Coz most of the time, contractor will unpack and install and throw away the boxes?

Day 13 Arrival of toilet accessories Ok. Now I know my toilet bowl is criztol brand.

Nope, they didnt have any brochure. Very limited info. The overall look is very similar to 7409, but not sure if $1199 is for display set. keke Talking abt world cup, i think channel 5 again will broadcast beginning and end? Have u decided if u going to take up starhub or singtel? I was wondering which one more worth it then bundle with home telephone line and internet, then after 3 mths cancel the scv/mio. haha
-
Yes yes 7832. I didnt notice this model in IT show leh, but instead at courts. If its the improved version, then 1199 is good buy leh. But couldnt find any specs anywhere, except at courts which specs are limited. Wah..i like the 9704 also, but budget out of reach, if you have the spare cash, y not? haha But i believe bigger screem model usually drop price faster. If not rush, y not wait.
-
The model is 7409, which i aiming for. The $999 one was the 56XX series which does not have the 100hz thingy I think. All harvey are offering at $1299 now, with free wall bracket and 3 yrs warrenty. I was at courts just now and there is one model 78XX offering at $1199, with ambilight and 100hz. Didnt see this model b4, not sure how it compare against 7409. Have u heard of that model b4?

Today went to Harvey Norman, as they have good promotion on the fridge we are looking at. Fisher and paykel TRE521. Original price $1599, after discount $1249. Which we thought was quite a good catch, as we compare with most of the retail store, so far this is the best deal. So might as well grab it 1st. At the same time, wanted to get sound system there. Onkyo HTS-3200. But happen to pass by Courts, and just check out the price. The salesman in order to close the deal, match the price offer by Harvey $799 and throw in 25m monster audio cable + 1 HDMI cable. Which we thought again was a good buy, so secure the deal. Only pity the harvey salesman who intro me this set and demo a few for me. Sorry! Was also at the IT show on the very 1st day, hoping to check out good offer for Philips TV. But was disappointed at the hrly special, which offer $1399. Chey, thought could go down to $1100. Check out Harvey and they are selling $1299. The only difference is without $100 philips voucher and HDMI cable.

Day 12 Superb progress! Went up and was surprised that they are doing the Lbox! But so fast?? Electrical wiring havent totally completed, somemore my sound system wire havent run!! Discuss with ID abt the wiring issue and placement or speaker on top, then called Ah Keong, my electrician, asking if he can come and do up the rest. Was told by ID that next monday TV console and shoe cabinet will be up already. So fast!! Ah Keong was tied up by heavy schedule as well, but when I asked him nicely if he can come up and do the outstanding work, he manage to squeeze his own time to work on Sat. Lbox on the way Tiler touching up on kitchen tiles

This one really unique...didnt see b4. But the switch is really a hindrance to any big head plug like wat u said.
-
wah..so u are 1 of the few who got it during the hrly special?? I was there for the 7409, but disappointingly the special price was 1399!! I thought it would go cheaper, other places are already selling like 1399 or 1299 loh, but without the little freebies of coz

Kitchen floor tiles done Service yard floor tiles done. Sewage pipe concealed.
-
Day 10: Tiling 85% completed. Good work guys! Living Room floor and skirting done! Toilet floor done, but unable to do drop down, do kerb instead.
-
So envy u guys. Even after I moved, I still need at least 60min (estimated) of travel time, instead of current 60-80?
-
wah..u chose all the exp tiles!! That woody one quite unique leh, doesnt look like tiles at all.
