Hi Batman Thanks for the reply. Do you have any Legrand Mallia pictures to share and the prices ? -
Hi Feimei How much did you spend buying those bigger switches from the shop ? Are you changing the single, double power points , tel & TV points to Clipsal or Legrand as well ? Can share the prices here ?

Hi SGBuzz Did u engaged CI to do the electrical works ? I let CI do the electrical works in a package. Below are the details Re-Wiring for whole house 1)26 nos of Lighting points 2)8 nos of 13A single power points 3)12 nos of 13A double power points 4) 5 nos of scv points 5) 5 nos of tel points 6) 1 no of 15A air-con point 7) 1 no of 15A heater point 8) 1 no of mcb 9) Labour to install light Total = $2950 Remarks:Using normal Clipsal single or double power points (with two screws seen from front) and normal switches. I wanted to change to those bigger switch ones. Then they show my catalog from Clipsal and Legrand. I ask the electrician which brand is more cheaper. His answer was not much difference but from my findings Legrand switches are more ex. The electrician will help me do the purchase and install. I am not changing for the single and double power points. Then the laying of electric cables are on next monday. But till now my ID from CI have not get back to me how much to top up for the switches. What if later they charge $300 to top up for Legrand switches after they have install ? I become carrot head. I will call the ID and tell him don buy first. Are you going to change the switches to those bigger ones only ? How about changing single & double powerpoints with screws cover up ? Have you went to buy the switches yourself ?

Hi SGBuzz We are on the same boat, I understand how you feel. Haiz ya. Open Net said only can install during the stated period that is 25 Jan - 11 Feb , no earlier. If later then need to pay. My ID said once the L-Box is up then lay the bracket above the floor at skirting area that is the only choice. If you manage to get a solution do let me know asap.

Impress21 Design And Build - My Home Makeover
ninja3101 replied to oogachaga's topic in Reno t-Blog Chat
Hi oogachaga I just met up with my ID's electrician on this Tue. Next Mon they will start laying the wiring. My ID package for electrical only include normal switches & socket (able to see the two screws on the front). I told the electrician I want to change to rocket switches the ones u use in your house. I was confuse whether to choose Clipsal or Legrand then he told me the the prices for Clipsal and Legrand is about the same. After I saw your list then I knew that Legrand switches are much more expensive ! That means I have to pay more to top up for the Legrand switches. I choose Legrand switches and they will me help me do the purchase. The electrician told me they are using Clipsal normal single & double sockets with two screws seen from the front. I am thinking whether to change to Clipsal C-V switches and sockets (hidden screws) ? As you are using Clipsal could you please advice ? thanks. In the end I decided to go for Clipsal as it goes with my decor...somehow the Mallia doesnt look that sleek or streamlined, but I chose legrand dimmer as its nicer and has switch and dimmer control together...was also was contemplating the Clipsal E3000 series with LED, but price a bit exorbitant..below are some of the prices for reference (not inc of GST yet) Note: 1. LG mallia silver colour more expensive 2. LG Mallia comes LED ready , so to add LED lights, you need to customise and, add $2.30 for green led, or $2.80 for red colour 3. Clipsal E3000 is more expensive for the white ones -
Choose Pvc Or Chrome For Sink Pipe In Kitchen
ninja3101 posted a topic in Home Maintenance & Repairs
At the Kitchen sink pipe is it better to use PVC or chrome material ? So far my current house is using PVC for over 10 years no problem. My ID package is using PVC material. If want chrome will need to top up. As kitchen sink we will pour hot soup or water into it. Any advices on this ? -
I am going to lay electric cables in my house soon. I want to install normal rocker switches with no LED. So the electrician ask me Clipsal or Legrand switches In terms of reliable , durability & always got stock for rocker switches. The electrician told me all my power points either single or double will be installed with normal Clipsal. It is better to get same brand for the switches ? Any pictures to show ? Which brand will be better ?

But for my case is that I can't wait for OpenNet to come on 26 Jan. As the L Box will goes up on 15 Jan. U r lucky that OpenNet can come in time before u do the LBox.

Bro , u r so resourceful. Got so many contractors to do your house. U and MrsBuzz must have spend a lot of time sourcing out for contractors. By the way up to till now I have not engage the movers. Who do you engage to move your house ? Do they provide free boxes ?
-
I call up Open Net yday to book for installation they told me my Block is schedule for installing from 25 Jan - 12 Feb. My ID said ask them to come before 15 Jan as he need to get the L-Box seal up. Because my parents want to move in just 1 wk before CNY. But the Open Net person told me not possible ? So you are paying extra to get Open Net Contractor to come early to install the point ? How ?

One of the main concern we had in the upstairs common toilet was the water drainage to the gully trap. So they hack the floor lower, added a dedicated drainage pipe and then raise the floor up. The shower area floor will still be lower than the rest of the toilet. We have the same nice green tiles in the toilet. So u design how the wall tiles are being placed ?
-
The PUB testing cost $250. So is not must to do the PUB testing ?
-
The workers start hacking from 04 Jan - 06 Jan.Then on the 07 Jan they start to lay tiles for Kitchen , 2 toilet wall & floor. What makes you said my renovation is faster than yours ? My renovation almost everything are done by C L A S S I C except 4 bedrooms bulid-in wardrobes. My frens told me if get all renovation done by a same contractors will be expensive. But my mother seem keen to let C L A S S I C do the bedroom's wardrobes as well.So your carpentry , windows and floors r done by Delta ?
