The sales rep wasn't interested when he heard my budget around 1.5-1.8k. The only Definitive technology package was the Pro Cinema 800 at $2599.

I would like to know too. HN in Australia, when you buy a white goods package, can always nego with the store manager for a sweet deal. Is it the same here?

Satellite speakers. Thanks for the good info, will keep looking at a 5.1 setup then. Was afraid 1m apart is too close. Thinking of an Onkyo HiTB with the TX-SR 507 AVR and Onkyo speakers. Budget a bit tight, small bonus. Plus since I'm new at this looking at entry lvl. Checked out KEC, only their Jamo setup is within my budget. Wahaha! Tried listening to two diff amps a 5.1 with and without true HD on the same speaker setup and the action movie punches sounded crisper while the base more accurate (for lack of a better description). Drool... compared to my current tv-speakers the salesman almost convinced me to buy it first lol. I've got another problem though, the wall where the tv is going to be mounted is only a meter wide, read some sites and most recommend about 2 m distance between the 2 front speakers. Will it be worthwhile placing them a meter apart? Or would I be better off getting a 'shudder' soundbox. thanks again.
