  3. Ah, mystery solved. Asked my contractor about this. Our very nice contractor brought a truck load of marble tiles (more in the MBR) and had them all splayed out on the floor. Was wondering why there was so many. Clearly our tiny toilet didn't need that many. As he explained it, he had all tiles laid out so that he could pick, match and tag the tiles that will be eventually used. This was to ensure aesthetic consistency. He will haul the remaining tiles back. Wah, this is how the professionals do it. Very very detailed and methodical. :good:

  10. Reno Day +18 (11-04-2010) Marble tiles that will be eventually used for the MBR toilet (Curiously, not sure why there are so many pieces here for a really tiny toilet) A close up of the marble (Again, sorry about the condition of the lighting. Flash photography kills details )
  11. Reno Day +18 (11-04-2010) More updates, more pics. Kitchen wall rebuilt A view of inside the kitchen Yet another view. Kinda difficult to convey the sense of spaciousness the kitchen has at the moment with a photograph. Don't think my photography is doing a good job at establishing a sense of scale. Anyway, once the cabinets and appliances are in, bye bye space, hello clutter.

  13. KIV Kitchen Sink The wife and I are pretty set on buying this; Ikea's DOMSJÖ sink bowl (W62.4×D64.6, H22.9cm) We really like the farmhouse/lab sink look and the huge dimensions are a must (to fit an entire wok). Any suggestions for alternatives? No stainless steel though.

  19. Hi hcbing, Glad you like the renderings I did. Must admit, it was painstaking, although kinda helpful in the reno visualization process. The 3D was done all in Google Sketchup and rendered in Kerkythea, a free 3D renderer for the Mac. There's a little bit of a learning curve going the free software route but I think it was worth it. Made conveying what the wife and I wanted to the ID way way easier Do check out the forums on both sites (links embedded above). Plenty of tutorials and videos.
