Let me share about the aircon trunking. To be frank, we have never discussed the layout of our aircon trunking with our contractor..the trunking from masterbed room aircon ledge into the kids' room prevents the door from opening fully.... And now have to live with a door stopper on the floor itself...bad design, something that we should avoid This is a neater design for door stopper...nice! Eh...if you take a closer look, there is a huge gap in my parquet which the contractor tries to fill it up....

This is my kids' room, we have a simple bookshelf and a bunkbed. The only built in are the cabinets Looking into their room from the living room Notice the aircon above the door? All my aircons are above the doors, it is the least obstructive for the whole finish and design layout. The connecting "door" (actually just a hole...) that links to the masterbedroom

Looks great! what theme will you be doing? zen?

Maybe it is my own style, instead of partitioning and makes a big room looks even smaller, I would have hacked away the study room to create the wall space for the tv console...

thanks..didn't know this design is necessary..nevertheless here's a better way by using thin planks of wood instead of the rubber slit. acceptable gap and is neat! therefore, I would say there is a solution for this design, just that my carpenter is not consistent in his workmanship....
-
ok let me share one of the main problem with this design. I believe the main reason is that there is no exact dimensions provided for the carpentry work esp on the design challenges with regards to the rounded edges. Problem: Notice the gap (around 0.5cm). Common problem with most of my cabinet doors. **** disgusting cause lizards and cockroaches can slip in! Solution: a rubbery backing.. End result: @#$% still slight gap..poor workmanship? anyway i didn't bother to ask the carpenter to re-do, too tired. but there were some that he does it perfectly..

haha yeah was so stressed up for the last one month...just imagine wearing the same set of clothes cause the rest of the clothes are in boxes, my son keeps asking where are his toys. I got to live with heaps of boxes and things in plastic bags for a good 1 month! it was terrible. the house is perpetually dirty, forever things are left undone.. To add on, new environment, new posting for my job, and expecting a third baby..so glad I am settling down at last...

recieved a message with regards to the following...: "Correct me if I am wrong. You seem to change your TV orientation to your dining area, different from your 2D drawing. Possible to show the end result of your Common and MBR toilets and the bedrooms? Is it really cramp when doing a L shaped kitchen cabinet as I notice you are doing a gallery kitchen in a long kitchen layout? Sorry for asking so many questions as I had headache designing my new home layout which is exactly the same layout." wow very sharp indeed! Yes I have change the orientation of my TV. 2 main considerations 1.do not want to squeeze in my dining area in the main living room area i.e. main living room simply for relaxing and to slack around... 2. desire to create a balcony area..necessity to have one space near to the windows..if i were to have it near the main door, the balcony will seem more like a service balcony. As for the L shaped kitchen, nope it is not exactly that uncomfortable. I used Ikea's recommendation as the general guidelines..e.g. a comfortable working space is at least 1.2metres from the next cabinet..mine is more than that. From the picture it may not be apparent..the main entrance to my kitchen is offset...i.e. the start of my L-shaped is offset with respect to the start of the oven cabinets. This is to make moving in/out bigger and less restrictive. Yes it is still smaller if compared to the huge kitchen, but I feel the final effect (after clearing my clothes etc..), the space is fully optimised..not forgetting that I actually have a playground and children's small table along the other side of the wall (opposite my dining table) As for the pictures of my MBR and bedrooms..will post up soon..haven't got the chance to take photos, things are too messy to be taken now...kids are sleeping, study room looks like storeroom....

was looking through some of my posts...traffic is really bad in the north...i have resigned to paying the CTE charges. Just hope everyday i can catch the timing at its minimum value....

Second - the fake balcony Third - Display cabinet General view away from tv area

my living room is divided into 3 main parts... First - the main tv area Close up of the cd drawers Notice all the messy wirings? Now it looks neat and tidy, yet still can use remote control and see the digital clock on my scv hub!

just took some pics of my living room/kitchen...not exactly in a good state for phototaking but seems decent enough:P Will explain a few of my problems with the design in the later posts... Completed Shoe cabinet Eh for the kitchen photos, please delete all those clothings and mess.... Just to share that as I am worried that my kids will fiddle with the gas tank..this is what i did to my cabinet which allows me to lock it up Looking into the kitchen from the dining area/playarea

Hi babyleomummy, not that smooth sailing...in fact only completed the whole thing 2 weeks ago, had been busy unpacking etc..haven't taken any photos on the final finish...but will load up a few interim ones that i have taken earlier on... As my basic designs are round cabinets, there are diffculties with regards to the carpentry work which i can explain better with the full finish cabinets...but just to share a few layout concept Shoe Cabinet that is just enough for a family of four.."breathing holes" are made available on the right side at every shelf level. One side of my kitchen cabinet, missing the other side whereby I have my washing machine, oven and fridge...will share that again. Kids' cabinet layout. Drawers and top shelves are important...as well as space to hang their nicer clothes

Hi I bought my artichoke lamp at lightcraft along jalan sultan. Bought it at 700++...Definitely a replica...the real one can be easily over 20k?
-
El Nino...yeah i was very lucky...the family had since moved out of their house therefore is not bothered as long as we take over the utilities bills...but we did have a written agreement to state that we are responsible for all the flat matters... ossify..this is what my contractor told me too about the polishing. what;s platinum teak laminate..a much better quality as compared to normal laminates?

Yeah I am really looking forward to stay in Yishun! I stay nearer to St 21/22.. Think there are many quieter places to explore..the jams at CTE is crazy...even during weekends...rather time consuming but guess this is part of Yishun life! I think these glass tiles are available in most of the tile shops. However the design variety may vary. I got mine from Lian Seng Hin Trading Co Pte Ltd (568A Balestier Road, Singapore 329885). Hope it helps!

Parquet flooring...abit regret cause my friend told me it is softer than laminates thus leaves marks when furniture are heavy...hopefully it can still take the heavy duty usage for kids:( Contractor also reassure me the parquet will look nice and clean after polishing,....hm...looks terrible now...
-
Kitchen...waiting for cabinet completion...Hopefully the entrance from living room to kitchen is not too small..
-
The design of our bathroom entrance is similar.....
-
MBR Bathroom Progress...it was rather amazing cause when we were there, the longbath is not yet done..just after 1 hour, it's done!
-
Sigh..progress too slow, electrical wirings done, all required screeding is done...homogeneous tiles done for the main living room...MBR toilet done....hm.. MBR Bathroom Living Room tiles Wall mosiac for kitchen

Europa only showed me about 6 albums and only 1 album suits my taste...there's more variety ont he website you have chosen. Thinking of having wallpaper in our MBR too to make the savings more worthwhile...now getting my friends to see if can buy with their china credit card! Was looking at retro main gate and had informed my contractor that I wanted this design...according to him all can be customised....hm... haven't got back to me on the costing...as I only want a 1-piece gate as my main door opening is small.... http://www.metalworld.com.sg/products/prod..._gate_retro.htm

Your gate design is unique. Don't remember seeing this design online....Where did you get yours? $650 is considered average price or above average? Black is good too cause wrought iron also has some sort of corrosion after sometime and won't be that obvious....
