  1. what happened to the yellow laminates for the cabinets..mine is yellow, hopefully can still keep with this colour! Really happy to see a group of ppl who likes bright colours!
  2. wah thanks for the link, spent sometime looking over them...still can't find the design I had in mind but this design may just suffice! The related link is http://item.taobao.com/auction/item_detail...0418c39aeff.htm nice? Not too sure why but I think wallpapers are really nice, can do wonders to your renovation theme! with an element of "touch"
  3. yeah looking forward to the changes everyday! Though it's my second home, still find it refreshing!
  4. Hi newnyew, was trying to look at your last few entries of your blog, but the pictures were no longer available. I actually found this inspiration of mosiacs for kitchen in one of the picture shown online. quite pretty and cozy, that's why decided to go all the way out for it...instead of just dabbling with a few pieces of mosiacs. That particular website even teach how to proportion the coloured and white tiles.... Ossify, actually I didn't have a choice, cause I have decided to re-orient my tv console (to create garden space, below the living room window), need to find ways to box up the water pipe. In fact the bracket is also extra fat to flush with my wall which already has an existing 2 levels.. ("parapet" at the top of the wall). Now also cross my fingers that the pipe won't burst, if not all will be electrocuted! Hi Dannywmp, thanks for sharing...may I ask further if you ordered online or purchased in China personally? If you order online, which online store did you visit? As I mentioned earlier, I am still puzzled by "Dispatch to Singapore" which only cost EURO48 as compared to "Shipping to Singapore" which cost EURO180....therefore yet to commit to any online buy..however my contractor suggests that I just buy from Europa since I only need 4 rolls...he said he will do the rest for me inclusive of the renovation cost.
  5. This is my favourite part for now...not completed yet...the mosiacs still need to go to the side walls and the walls between kitchen top and wall cabinets...
  6. this is the connecting point of the adjacent in the living room wall to the original kitchen wall. Thinking of letting the copper pipe run exposed after the thick brackets...any opinions please?
  7. Thought the common toilet looks good with these...of course have thought through the maintainability which is very high...hahaha..i.e. after bathing ourselves we may just need to "bathe" the mosiac and wipe them dry!Eh...nothing's installed yet, so still look pretty..can't imagine the pails that are also going to be part of the "setup"!
  8. More pics of the rounded corners....not exactly obvious, but I am fine with it... After installation of cable brackets, the edge are rounded to "fuse" back to the ceiling...
  9. Hi may I ask how long is your kitchen? Mine was around 7.3m. However I "expanded" my living room space into the kitchen and realised that L shape design like the above picture is not appropriate. Yours will be fine if you are maintaining your kitchen space. Do take note of the walking space between the washing machine and the wall..a comfortable space will be around 1.2m. As for the high ceiling, you may want to consider a "second" storey bed while you make good use of the space below it. Really love your high ceiling!
  10. Went to Europa, and is happy that at least there is one design that belongs to the 70s...however it is charging SGD480(SGD120 per roll)29...this is very expensive as compared to only SGD291.89 inclusive of postage online (design....not too sure what's the difference btw "dispatch to Singapore" and "shipping to Singapore" the latter is actually alot more expensive form of postage...
  11. For wallpapers SGD400 for 5 rolls..considered expensive? Went to Goldcity Decor to choose wallpapers, still couldn't find the design I want to have... - Hyperion
  12. The problem with PVC corner strip is very hard to find matching colour, wanted the rounded edges to look as "natural" as possible... as for the bathroom..hopefully it won't eat too much into the floor space.. Yeah for the light, think I am trying too hard..maybe get the town council to cut down the trees! haha
  13. was wondering if this really have an impact on the reflection of light....my unit is sheltered by nearby trees and is also facing north south i.e. minimum sun, I personally feel it is too dark even during daytime...Dulux LigntnSpace/url]
  14. Went to visit the HDB habitat forum when I was there for my first appointment....the concept of a ramp into the bathrooms is coolz...getting the workers to see if it is too late to do it for our unit
  15. All the sharp edges are to be avoided...even the edge of the wall....not too sure if the picture can show what I mean..basically have told the workers that all corners and edges to be rounded...either through cementing or plastering!
  16. I believe you meant the bubble chair hanging from the ceiling....I am not getting it as I think the ball chair is enough for my living room area The last I have enquired, the replica is available at studio 1961 you can try lorgans too...but I remembered it was selling around 3k... there may be cheaper replicas from http://www.ehongfurniture.com or http://www.comfortfurniture.com.sg/ Hope it helps
  17. The hacking begins and ended this week...all the hacked areas are also "smoothen.." Kitchen walls are hacked for the extension of living room.... Hacked wall to create connecting door btw children's and our bedroom. Mainly for the ease of my children going to toilet.....very troublesome when they are distracted by other things on the way to the toilet... just before bedtime Smoothening of the wall... will be laying full height wall mosiac, feeling excited....can't wait to see the effect. waterproofing of common toilet....not too sure what's good workmanship...hm....
  18. We were in love with these lightings.... hahaha For masterbed room... I bought a pair of these the moment I saw it, not knowing where to put them....after discussion, putting this red one at the main entrance to the house....and the blue one before the entrances to the bedrooms... The living room lighting is an artichoke lamp which should look like this....this is our main "investment"...hope all turn out fine.
  19. Last Mon, the workers started to hack away all the existing furnishing (kitchen cabinets, cornices etc) The cockroaches were disgusting....Here are some pics of the mess. The mess.... COrnices..though a retro design but I can't imagine cleaning these multi corners... Luckily all Dead cockroaches!! Counting down.....
  20. Yes you are right! My current house with all the white fascade have started to turn yellowish..after 6 years...this time round I am going to be bolder with the colours but definitely can't run away from the white base. anyway, I also realise "melamine sponge" cleaned off stains easily! and thus is perfect for white furnishing
  21. Hi Newnyew, may I ask why you want a huge huge fridge? my auntie wants to pass me her fridge with these dimensions height 1.78m, length 0.75m and depth 0.64m ...i personally couldn't convince myself it I need such a huge one..Currently my fridge is only 1.58m;0.64m;0.54m...but the Hitachi fridge comes with matt silver...do blend in with my oven (rinnai) SMEG is really nice, but very impractical due to the small size..
  22. Hi bluewater, I have read his blog too..it is one of the more authentic retro house I have seen. Similarly, I don't have the $$$ to be authentic retro...things in lorgan is really expensive...however I did bought 2 lamps for my current house, I am re-using these two lamps. I will also be re-using my dining table...too bad my phanton chairs are all "injuired" with cracks at the edge (this is the worst of my furnishing investment cause I paid S$179 each previously...6 years ago) Nowadays, there are so many made in China furnishing that are doing replica at affordabld price...just got to be more mindful of the quality
  23. Yeah maybe you are right...for my current house, actually did a kids wall mural, I simply love it! But still think anything that is "more serious" will be too challenging! Here's a picture of my wall mural that I did with my niece and nephew chipping in for the fun! Maybe I should save some money....let me think about what to draw...hm...
  24. Hi El Nino, Thanks! By the way, I am also an impulsive person..in fact I only went to ONE design company and took up their basic package on the very same day....so nobody to blame except for myself... I have started shopping for my furnishing..they are mainly from www.lightcraft.com.sg I thought the pricing is quite reasonable and always give further discount upon confirming the selection, my main design lightings are -artichoke lamp S$766 (think I got this at a higher price, saw one going at S$600 in IMM...but not too sure if they have the copper colour -Lightbulb lamp S$340 the rest are cheap...below S$30s http://www.ehongfurniture.com/ -globe/ball chair S$ 840 -tulip chair 4 sets S$550 *think there is special discount as my contractor liase directly with the boss...but of course not too sure of the quality since it is most probably a replica made in China.. Previously the cheapest I saw online is S$1400 for globe chair and S$700 for 4 sets of tulip chair www.lorgans.com dining lamps...reusing.. 2 x S$200 = S$400 *these are currently in place in my unit, will be shifting it to yishun. sofa set..reusing... dining table...reusing.. coffee table..reusing... I am thinking of using wallpaper this time round...Check any good recommendations...offhand there is one website that I came across but it is not local..I have ventured goodrichglobal.com...and even visited their gallery, couldn't find this specific wall paper design http://www.wallpaperfromthe70s.com/product...8450cca7cfaf01a not too sure how safe is it to go for international delivery
